John McCain, F#$%ing Liar

By Booman Tribune

It’s long past time for people to not only give McCain a total pass on his outright lies, smears, “McCain moments” and other absolute nonsense that comes from his mouth but also to actively call him on it. And if he isn’t lying, then he is goddamn near senile and shouldn’t be President for that reason alone, notwithstanding all of the other very valid reasons that he shouldn’t be President.

Over the past few weeks, he has really stooped to a new low – and just when you think that there can’t be a new low. But yes, every day comes another outright fabrication, nay, lie – about his positions, about Obama’s positions, hell – think back to the primary season when he lied about Romney or Huckabee or whoever else.

It’s too bad that only republicans know how to use the word “liar” when it comes to their opponents, even though they generally are using it for opponents that didn’t actually lie (and usually, they are the ones lying). But the fact remains that McCain is so power mad, so unhinged at the fact that he isn’t getting quite the fluffing that he feels he is due, his campaign has continued it’s collision course with the title of “most sleazy, dishonest and scummy campaign ever”.

The problem is that in an era where things can easily be verified, “I don’t remember” is sometimes passable and “I never said that” or “I never did that” is unacceptable and easily verifiable.

And that is just off the top of my head and a quick search.

So let’s start calling him what he is. A full on liar. Not only “forgetful”, not only “misinterpreted”, not only “misquoted”, not only mean-spirited and stretching the truth.

A liar. As in “pants on fire”. If he is going to get a pass from the media, it makes it that much harder for the rest of us to get past the smokescreen. Here are around 20 instances, not even counting the 3 straight days of “Iran helps al Qaeda” or “the surge resulted in the Anbar awakening” or whatever other crap he tries to throw at the wall.

We just had 8 years of outright dangerous lies on many major issues. Not only are many of the same people involved with McCain campaign, but they are lying about just as many major important issues.

And lying isn’t so “mavericky”, is it?

I love the title of this thread

So true.

MCCAIN WAS CLEAR - 5TH FROM THE BOTTOM

I don't think McCain is a liar. I just think he is not very bright. From Rev. Warren's forum, McCain was asked how he could help America and he told the following story:

So, McCain said there are people who have lost their jobs, have no education, no health benefits, have lost their homes, but he, McCain, KNOWS WHAT THEY NEED. Hope and confidence. That's what he said. To people who have lost everything, he will give them "hope and confidence". JUST TO MAKE IT CLEAR, MCCAIN'S ANSWER TO POEPLE WHO ARE LOSING THEIR HOMES IS TO GIVE THEM HOPE AND CONFIDENCE.

Every McCain answer was just as retarded as this one. All the "professionals" said he won the night because he had "confidence" and was "clear".

Even better was when asked what he would do about the 148 million orphans world wide, McCain said he would MAKE IT EASIER TO ADOPT IN THIS COUNTRY. I guess we was saying to bring them all here. I don't know what else to make of his answer.

EVERYONE WAS AMAZED AT HIS CONFIDENCE. NO ONE LISTENED TO WHAT HE ACTUALLY SAID. WHAT A HOOT.

Great Post

I didn't watch the show because I was embarrased that obama was begging for votes.

Did Obamam get McCain to appear in front of his base to discuss the issues that you described in your post?
Thanks

MCCAIN - CONFIDENCE

McCain and Obama were only on stage a minute, shook hands, and then Obama left.

Because I rarely understand what McCain is saying, I took notes while he was talking. It's true that he did speak with confidence. So much confidence in fact that McCain would blurt out the "answer" before the good Reverend even finished asking the question. He was so well rehearsed with "answers" that when a question was asked he didn't know the "answer" to, he didn't answer it.

When Obama was asked about the three wisest people he ever knew, he mentioned people he actually knew. People who shaped his life. His grandmother and his mother being two.
Who did McCain name? A CEO, a guy whose skull was fractured so he was brave, and General David Petraeus. THESE ARE THE THREE WISEST PEOPLE HE KNOWS? Does he know the meaning of the word "wise". Obviously, he memorized a different answer.

What's worse, Petraeus said the central front against al Qaeda IS IN AFGHANISTAN. McCain said, loud and clear, that the central front to al Qaeda is in Iraq. McCain said one of the wisest people he has ever known in his life was "wrong". It was very strange. But McCain was confident.

When asked about "fixing" education, McCain said he supports vouchers and home schooling and the answer to bad schools is to go to a different school.

If you know McCain's academic background it makes perfect sense. McCain graduated 5th from the bottom out of 899 Cadets and only was able to get into the Naval Academy because his dad, an Admiral and his granddad, also an Admiral, pulled strings. To graduate 5th from the bottom, you aren't the worst guy in the class, you are the worst guy in EVERY class. No way around it. McCain doesn't value education because it never mattered to him. However, McCain was confident.

McCain talks about "offshore" drilling as if he already knows where the oil is. It's "offshore". He has never once mentioned any type of exploration and the media has given him a FREE PASS on this. Until we know if there is any oil, there can be no debate. A debate about something we only hope is there is just so much "natural gas". But McCain was confident.

Never, not once, has McCain mentioned the Iraqi Christians. In 2004, it was estimated that there were 1.4 MILLION living in Iraq. The current estimate is 700,000. NOTE: THERE IS NO PLAN TO SHARE THE TENS OF BILLIONS OF OIL REVENUE IN US BANKS WITH THE IRAQI CHRISTIANS. NONE.

Thanks

Dean,
Now what was your impression of Obama's performance?
Kevin

OBAMA SEEMED UNSURE - TOO MUCH "THINKING"

Obama was trying to think everything through. While this is normally a good thing, in front of evangelicals, it's exactly the "wrong" thing to do.

Many of these people believe science is a religion. They believe that the occult is real. They assume there is absolute good and absolute evil and desperately attempt to place everything in those two categories.

For example, when Obama talked about the three wisest people, he talked about his mother and grandmother and wife and why. The values they gave him, how they taught him to work and look at every side of an issue. Not that bad, but not that good for people that believe in a patriarchal religion. Many don't believe it's "manly" for a man to learn from smart women.

Obama looked at the big picture. When he talked about abortion, he talked about how he personally suffers for supporting a woman's right. He said if we support the woman and give her the means to take care of the child, perhaps we could end the abortion. Make it not necessary.
Exactly the wrong position for evangelicals. Whatever they say, their actions say, "get the kid born and then fuck it, it's not MY kid. I don't want to take care of it".

McCain seemed clear and confident because he gave the same thoughtless, simplistic answers that Bush gives. Obama was too much like Kerry. He actually thought things through. NOTE: WHEN TALKING TO EVANGELICALS, KEEP IT SIMPLE AND WITHOUT THOUGHT. ANSWER EVERYTHING YES OR NO. NO THINKING.

I don't know if it was all that bad

You'll never sway the majority of those folks with reason. But you'll probably never do so any way you try. There are some among that crowd though who will listen to reason. Offering real insight to an intelligent thought just might be a novel enough approach to sway 5 or 10 percent and that would be huge..

Great Post

"Obama was too much like Kerry. "
Dean,
I agree a 100%.
That's not a bad thing for the reasons you pointed out in your great note.

However, there seems to be a corporate media double standard where Kerry is repored as boring and Obama is great thinker.

Keep up the great work!
Thanks

The public's opimion of McCain

is solid.

BLObama is the unknown entity.

"Obama - the judgment to hang out with some really nasty people."

By its_so_overAugust 18, 2008 - 3:38pm

The public's opinion of you is solid: You're a pussy.

So you have no comment about the lies of McCain? Didn't think so. How can you defend such a lying sack of shit?

Weak Crap

"BLObama is the unknown entity."
Its,
Please on this forum that right wing crap will not fly...go back to FoxNoise and CNN where your silly comments will be protected and supported in an environment where they appease a very important and power viewing demo at the expense of the truth.

First, if you knew McSame, like Obama said, the McCain of 2000 would have one hell of a debate with the McSame in 2008.

How can you really know someone that flips all over the political map.

I don't really know if McSame is saying these things to win the nomination and become McCain during the election and if and when he take over the oval office.

To behonest you really can't answer that question if you really knew McCain/McSame.
Thanks

HAGEE AND PARSLEY

Obama is a Senator. He isn't personal friends with every single person in his district.

Also,

I'm assuming that you also agree that Hagee and Parsley (the man McCain proclaimed his "spiritual advisor") are also "nasty people". You agree, right?

THE PUBLICS OPINION OF MCCAIN

What the public doesn't know about McCain.

McCain got into the Naval Academy when his Admiral dad pulled strings.

McCain graduated 5th from the bottom out of 899 Cadets.

McCain divorced his beauty queen first wife after she was disfigured in a car accident.

McCain carried on an illicit sexual affair with a woman 18 years his junior while his first wife was recovering and married his mistress less than a month after his divorce became final.

McCain's current wife made him sign a prenup because she doesn't trust him either.

McCain's current wife gives him an allowance.

McCain was investigated in the deaths of more than 130 troops after hot dogging and a "wet" start with his jet. He was allegedly shot down less than two weeks later so the investigation was dropped.

McCain was immediately removed from the Forestall Aircraft Carrier because the crew threatened to kill him for the 130 plus deaths.

McCain crashed two jets and blew up at least two jets. The one he was in that was allegedly shot down was the fifth one destroyed while in his care.

McCain has never held a job he didn't get through family connections or was elected to.

McCain has voted against the purchase of safety equipment, medical benefits and educational benefits for our troops at least 14 times since 2003.

McCain attempted to take credit for the last GI bill that passed, even though he voted against it.

McCain has publicly stated the reason he is against benefits for our troops is because they won't stay in the military.

McCain's wife has well over a hundred million dollars and owns at least 10 homes.

McCain told people who are losing their home to "get a second job".

McCain lobbied to send 40,000 high tech jobs and a 100 billion dollar Air Force contract to France and EADS. People that work for McCain made hundreds of thousands of dollars from EADS. It makes the first time in history part of our Air Force is being outsourced.

McCain is the first politician EADS ever gave money to.

McCain placed more than 100 American troops in Iraq into deadly danger as he wondered around a Baghdad market using them for human body shields for a photo op.

There is so much more, but my hands are getting tired. Sorry.

I dare anyone to prove that anything from this list is false. I dare you.

"McCain was investigated in

"McCain was investigated in the deaths of more than 130 troops after hot dogging and a "wet" start with his jet. He was allegedly shot down less than two weeks later so the investigation was dropped."
dean,
This is interesting....please go further. But I find it hard to believe that the media has coveredup this story if it's true.

Who am I kidding...that kept silent over GW's war record.

wet start

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.true-crime/browse_thread/thread/325fe...

Here's an article on the wet start.

I wonder if a Forrestal sailors for truth organization might be in order.

SCROLL DOWN AND READ THE COMMENTS.

If you scroll down the site you reference, there are links to many other sites.

The official Navy report says it was "probably" Mccain's fault. But when dad is an Admiral and McCain was swiftly removed from the Carrier because the crew members wanted to kill him, facts get lost.

It would be interesting to talk to some of those soldiers who were there to get their opinion.

Just asking???

How can the previous two comments be different the the swift-boating of Kerry.

Can't wait for the reply.
I know it will be good.
Thanks

KERRY WAS WRONG

There is an official report from the Navy concerning the explosion and fire on the Forestall. You can find it online. It said the event probably started from McCain's jet. You want it, go find it. I already read it.

It's a fact that McCain was removed from the carrier because the crew wanted to kill him.

It's a fact that more than 130 men died from "something" and it involved McCain.

It's a fact that the death toll eventually reached more than 160 men.

Kerry was able to get swift boated because he threw his medals away in a show of disrespect to the military. You don't give yourself medals as was suggested in the Swift Boat book. The request has to be submitted by an actual witness.

Also,
I saw one of the authors on Tim Russet years ago. The guy was saying Kerry gave himself medals and that there was never any gun fire. Tim Russet had motor pool reports from the commander detailing the bullet holes in Kerry's boat because it had to be repaired.

Also, a man on the boat that guy was on was also decorated. Tim asked him that if Kerry didn't deserve his medal, did the guy he served with who was decorated for the same event also didn't deserve the medal he got. The guy became enraged and stormed off the show. Kerry was swift-boated but felt his reputation would protect him from such ridiculous charges. Obviously, he was wrong.

The Republican Party was once called the party of ideas. That was a long time ago. Now, it's the party of slime.

Great Work

Dean,
I am glad to see bloggers construct well supported post!
Keep up the good work.
Thanks

odds are about even

that McCain wasn't responsible, but a history of nasty behavior had people assuming he was. (not much better in my book)

TRUE

It's true, he may not have been responsible.

But the crew thought he was. They wanted to kill him. He was the ONLY person who wasn't severely injured who was removed from the Carrier. THAT'S A FACT!

Agreed

my scenario is a "best case" and it's not much better. It either was his fault or it was an accident that, given his past behavior people assumed him responsible believing he could have done such a thing.

FACTS ABOUT THE FORRESTAL WE KNOW FOR SURE

What some have said about the Forrestal incident:

A young sailor, Frank West named McCain as the 'stupid bastard' who caused the tragedy

Another sailor, Mervin Rowland doesn't like McCain because McCain refuses to go to any of the Forrestal memorial reunions. We know for a fact that McCain has not visited a single reunion since the tragedy.

What we do know about the Forrestal incident.

McCain was the only member of the entire crew who wasn't severely injured to be airlifted off the Forrestal. This we know for a fact. Why is only speculation, which includes:

1. Some crew members thought it was because of his dad, Admiral McCain.
2. Some believed it was McCain’s dangerous stunt that set the whole thing off, and he was airlifted off because of threats on his life

All we know for sure is that he wasn't severely injured and he was airlifted. We know this because it was only a few weeks later that he was shot down in Viet Nam. He was obviously well enough to fly.

What we also know for sure is that McCain was the only person on the flight deck who received no decoration for valor for the events that took place on that day even though McCain says he saved lives. This is a fact. The ship burned for at least three more days, but McCain was already gone. MCCAIN WAS THE ONLY PERSON ON THE FLIGHT DECK WHO RECIEVED NO DECORATIONS FOR VALOR, THE ONLY ONE.

JUST WANTED TO ADD TO THE LIST

During high school, McCain was called "McNasty" because of his terrible temper.

McCain once called Cindy a "cunt" in public.

One of his colleagues commented, “I don’t want this guy anywhere near a trigger.” Given his mental state, McCain could end up nuking Terre Haute instead of Tehran.

Known as "Senator Hothead," for his volcanic temper tantrums.

Former senator Bob Smith, a New Hampshire Republican, expresses worries about McCain: "His temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him."

In 1999 McCain helped Donald Diamond buy land at an Army base that was being closed. McCain helped Diamond get the land — and special water rights — for just $250,000, which was sold two years later for $30 million.

McCain says he is no expert on the economy.

McCain remarked at a 1998 Republican fundraiser, "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno."

McCain has never held a job he didn't get through family connections or was elected to.

McCain has voted against the purchase of safety equipment, medical benefits and educational benefits for our troops at least 14 times since 2003.

McCain attempted to take credit for the last GI bill that passed, even though he voted against it.

September, 2007, McCain voted against the Webb amendment that would have provided all troops in Iraq have at least as much time home and in training as in theater.

May, 2006, voted against an amendment that would have provided the VA with an additional $20 million for healthcare facilities.

April, 2006, McCain was one of 13 Republicans to vote against $430 million for VA outpatient care and facilities.

March, 2006, McCain voted against increasing VA medical services funding

March, 2004, McCain voted against establishing a VA reserve fund to treat veterans.

October, 2003, McCain voted to table an amendment by Senator Dodd (D-CN) that called for an additional $322 million in safety equipment for soldiers in Iraq

April, 2003, McCain voted to table a senate vote to provide more than $1 billion for National Guard and Reserve equipment in Iraq.

August, 2001, McCain voted against increasing the amount available for medical care for veterans by $650 million.

In mid 2007, Senator Reid noted that McCain missed 10 of the past 14 votes on Iraq.

McCain received a grade of D from the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America

McCain recieved a 20 percent vote rating from the Disabled Veterans of America

McCain suggested that the Veterans Administration should ration health care by “concentrating” its efforts on “those wounds and disabilities that are directly the result of combat,” veterans organizations across America criticized McCain.

McCain has publicly stated the reason he is against benefits for our troops is because they won't stay in the military.

McCain claims that he has a “perfect record” on veterans issues.

McCain placed more than 100 American troops in Iraq into deadly danger as he used them for human body sheilds as he strolled around a Baghdad market. If any had died, it would have been his fault.

McCain has voted over and over for insurance companies to fund "viagra" for men as a medical condition, but NOT fund birth control because his argument is that it's a "lifestyle" choice.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but had to be told the difference between Sunni and Shiite.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but sent to reps to Georgia thereby undercutting a sitting president.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but has no idea that the Christian population in Iraq had been decimated by half since 2004.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but is unaware that the new Iraq consitution make "Islam" the national religion and leaves no protections for Christians.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but has no idea that oil revenues will be divided among Sunni, Shiite and Kurds, but there is NO PLANS to share with the Christians of Iraq.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but has no idea that Afghanistand Iraq don't share a border.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but thinks Czeckoslovikia is still one country.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but when told Iraq wants us out, McCain said he knows what they want.

McCain talks about drilling everywhere "offshore" but has no idea where the drill other than offshore.

McCain crows about his "foriegn experience", but is disliked by all of the rest of the world. If no one likes you, other than threats and bullying, what would you accomplish?

There is so much more. But I'm too tired to go look for it. This is the "experience" the media constantly talks about.

Crucifix Story

Don't forget how he lied or forgot that it happened to someone else and somewhere else where he wasn't , when he told the story about the guard/prisoner drawing the crucifix in the ground-story.

He needs to rename his bus

...from the "Straight-Talk Express" to the "Shitstorm On Parade".

The fact that he managed to get himself nominated only demonstrates that nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public (and that goes double for the American voter).

Haven't we been lied to enough already by Cowboy-hat Oathbreaker and his PNAC puppet masters?

The question Warren should have asked:

“Senator BLObama, you’re pro-abortion yet you have two children. Don’t you regret that you didn’t abort one or both of your daughters?

And if you had to choose to abort one of your daughters, which one would you have aborted?"

“Obama – the judgment to be a walking anti-christ”

Crazy

"pro-abortion yet you have two children"
Its,
Only a republican can refuse to address the issue or question asked, and replace it will nothing related to the topic of McSame political shift.

Well, we can do the samething, how many young Iraqi kids lost there lives due to the failed Bush invasion of Iraq.

How many Iraqi children lost their parents because of the failed invasion of Iraq.

Since you are a republican, you probably don't care about those children.

Well, how many children in this country lost there parent because they were killed in the Iraq war.

How many military kids quality of life suffered because their parents where forced to return to a battlefield that most americans refuse to serve.

Try this to on for size, how many babies were aborted because GW bush has NO problem with corporate profits made from selling the RU-486 pill......that's the morning after pill.

With that said, I am glad I will not be standing with Bush when he faces Christ.

Or you having to explain to Christ why you voted for a man that killed so many because he made you feel safe.

Get out here!!!
Thanks

Well Said!

Non,
Keep pitching ...you through strikes and the republican't can't touch them!

Democratics are so proud of their

pro abortion stance yet you never hear them tell their personal stories of having had abortions.

Democratics either aren't proud of their own abortions - or - they aren't having abortions. Either way, they are hypocrites and can't be trusted.

Obama - the judgment to take foreign policy advice from George cLooney.

So you're the one that got away?

Didn't I see you in a condom ad? "This is what happens when you don't use condoms!" Oh, that's right, Cowboy-hat Oathbreaker put all his stock in the "abstinence-only" bullshit, because we KNOW that if kids don't know condoms work, they won't have sex, right?

By its_so_overAugust 18, 2008 - 4:48pm

Bush aborted 4100 full grown soldiers so his friends could make a profit.

Do you want to go fight and risk a Bush abortion for Exxon?

Back Again for More!!!! Sick...

"Democratics either aren't proud of their own abortions "
Its,
Again ...as a republican... do you care about those poor kids and families that were destroyed in Iraq just to make you fell safe.

Are you really proud of what this country did to a country that did not attack us.

Don't you have any feeling for those poor military families that were torn apart because bush lied about going to war playing on your fears.

I don't have a direct choice in whether a women chooses to have an abortion.

However, you had a choice when you voted for Bush which lead to many loosing their lives.

I rather stand before Christ as a democrat fighting for a better life for those that choose to raise a family than some Bush Republican than wants to bring a child in a world where the father's job was just outsourced to Mexico for the sake of making the rich even richer.

After that...you are going to comeback for more!!!!
Thanks

A better fit for republican'ts

" Either way, they are hypocrites and can't be trusted."
Its,
Again, you know bush approved the RU-486 pill that aborts babies.

How come you have a problem with a poor women that was raped that wants an abortion; yet, you say nothing when babies are aborted for profit of....... let's say WalMart.

You should revisit your comment above and see that it's a much better fit for republican'ts than dems.
You are out of Here!!!!..... I surely hope!!
Like shooting fish in a barrel
Thanks

Please learn the difference

Please learn the difference between "pro-choice" and "pro-abortion". No Dem candidates are "pro-abortion". They just believe the woman has the right to choose what happens to her body.

I know, to "nuanced" and "elitist" for your brain to understand that distinction...

-- McCain = Four more years of the same --

YOU ARE DIRTY.

For saying something so nasty, you are most certainly a piece of stepped on and smeared shitstain.

Obama struggled with the question about abortion. He pointed out that if we support the woman who is pregnant and give her a way to take care of the child, perhaps we could end abortion. This is the answer from a human being who is concerned about other Americans.

If you didn't know that abortion concerned women, from McCain's answer, you wouldn't even know it involved women at all. The typical conservative viewpoint. Get the kid born and then fuck it. It's not MY kid. Conservatives have become dirty people.

McShitstain supports government funded Viagra but is against birth control. He feels a limp dick is a medical condition and birth control is a lifestyle choice. Of course, take away the women and what are you left with, masturbation? McCain, graduated 5th from the bottom out of 899 Cadets and it shows. McStain is definitely a "jack-off".

These people are not conservatives

the modern Republican is a right wing extremist, a neo-fascist. They are as far from being conservative as the most liberal of liberals. A true conservative would respect a womans right to privacy and not have the govt involved in the abortion issue.

Great Point Huff

Well said.

crucifix story

really i didn't know that. I am a independent voter leaning toward Obama but i was impressed with that story, it would not be a reason for me to vote for him but i was impressed with the story. I agree. I don't know why people just accepts what a person says about thier record i.e. voting record on veteran's affairs, when if you look it up it is drastically something that you should not be proud of especially if you are a veteran. This may seem like an off subject issue but i want to ask and get peoples input. I read an article about rural voters and the article quoted several people who said they were republican and did not like McCain but they would not vote for Obama because he was black. The economy is in the dumps, gas prices, people are losing homes, but thats not enough to put that aside and vote for a better candidate. My question I guess is if this is a demographic that is keeping his (Obama's) poll numbers down than he can try all he wants and that will not change so why keep trying why not just strengthen your base.

Loyal demographic

Obama goes after these people for a number of reasons.

1) McCain's grip on the religious right is tenuous at best. His past, sensible stand on abortion as a personal matter has them distrusting him, hence his recent reversal. Same for a number of other issues.

2)Most of these people have been voting against their best interests financially for years. The crappy economy has some of them looking for a reason to switch sides, so if Obama can convince them that he is not the boogie man, they may come around.

3) when it comes to moral issues, wanton warfare doesn't exactly come off a lot better than abortion does.

4) If you look at numbers for ALL religious groups, not just evangelicals, Obama does very well.

He doesn't have to win the demographic, he just has to weaken the GOP hold on it. If they don't come out in HUGE numbers, McCain has no chance. If a few of them cross over and viote Obama, all the better.

May I asked!!!

" I am a independent voter leaning toward Obama but i was impressed with that story, it would not be a reason for me to vote for him but i was impressed with the story. I agree."
indep,
With the choices so clear and issues so well defined, how can anyone be an independent?
Thanks

You asked

I am an independent because I don't think that a person should blindly follow any party, I reserve the right to vote for candidates that speak to my issues whoever that candidate may be. I vote issues not party. There have been times when I have voted democrat mostly but there have been times when I have voted republican.

Really

"I am an independent because I don't think that a person should blindly follow any party"
Indep,
Have you read some of the posts on this forum alone and clearly democrats don't blindly follow any candidates.

The republicans have great political fights also.

After the end of all the pushing and shoving with party party members, you are presented with a choice.

Please don't call dems or republicans as 'blindly' following a particular candidate. That's not fair.

However, we have to fight to determine the best option for the parties even if it's not our first choice.
Thanks

As long as the main stream

As long as the main stream media continues to repeat the mantra that McSame is a straight talking maverick that is what the people are going to believe. It doesn't matter that McSame is corrupt, a liar, or anything else. Since the media (and the corporate power structure which owns them) want McSame to win, they will continue to push the myth of his forthright honesty.

Sorry that is just the way it is.

Those nice Republicans have a new e-mail attack complaining that Obama doesn't have a us flag on the tail of his plane.

McCain and the cross in the sand story

MCCAIN: The Vietnamese kept us in prison in conditions of solitary confinement, or two or three to a cell. They did that because they knew they could break down our resistance. One of the techniques that they used to get information was to take ropes and tie them around your biceps, loop the rope around your head and pull it down beneath your knees and leave you in that position. You can imagine it's very uncomfortable.

One night, I was being punished in that fashion. All of sudden the door of the cell opened and the guard came in. The guy who was just -- what we call the gun guard -- just walked around the camp with the gun on his shoulder. He went like this and loosened the ropes. He came back about four hours later and tightened them up again and left.

The following Christmas, because it was Christmas day, we were allowed to stand outside of our cell for a few minutes. In those days we were not allowed to see or communicate with each other, although we certainly did. And I was standing outside, for my few minutes outside at my cell. He came walking up. He stood there for a minute, and with his sandal on the dirt in the courtyard, he drew a cross and he stood there. And a minute later, he rubbed it out, and walked away.

For a minute there, there was just two Christians worshipping together. I'll never forget that moment. (APPLAUSE). So every day.

A story about Alexander Solzhenitsyn from his times in the Soviet Gulags.

Along with other prisoners, he worked in the fields day after day, in rain and sun, during summer and winter. His life appeared to be nothing more than backbreaking labor and slow starvation. The intense suffering reduced him to a state of despair.

On one particular day, the hopelessness of his situation became too much for him. He saw no reason to continue his struggle, no reason to keep on living. His life made no difference in the world. So he gave up.

Leaving his shovel on the ground, he slowly walked to a crude bench and sat down. He knew that at any moment a guard would order him to stand up, and when he failed to respond, the guard would beat him to death, probably with his own shovel. He had seen it happen to other prisoners.

As he waited, head down, he felt a presence. Slowly he looked up and saw a skinny old prisoner squat down beside him. The man said nothing. Instead, he used a stick to trace in the dirt the sign of the Cross. The man then got back up and returned to his work.

As Solzhenitsyn stared at the Cross drawn in the dirt his entire perspective changed. He knew he was only one man against the all-powerful Soviet empire. Yet he knew there was something greater than the evil he saw in the prison camp, something greater than the Soviet Union. He knew that hope for all people was represented by that simple Cross. Through the power of the Cross, anything was possible.

Solzhenitsyn slowly rose to his feet, picked up his shovel, and went back to work. Outwardly, nothing had changed. Inside, he had received hope.

Wow

What an incredible coinky-dink!

One has to give Crash some credit though....

He's reading "The Gulag Archipelago", while Chimpy needs help getting through "The Pet Goat". Bush could probably never understand how McCain or anyone else could actually read a book that isn't mostly pictures.

MCCAIN OVER BUSH????

Just wondering. Are you being serious?

George Bush was barely below average at Harvard and he was drinking, snorting coke and putting together lavish and wild parties that are still famous today. All that and he was still just below average.

McCain was at the much more disciplined Naval Academy where he graduated 5th from the bottom out of 899 Cadets. A positive spin was that he was in the top 99.55%. The "bottom" line, and I do mean "bottom" is that there were only four students worse than McCain out of 899. McCain was 895, then there was 896, then 897, then 898 and finally 899. That was it.

That means McCain was probably last in every single class he took.

Why would anyone think McCain is smarter than Bush? Everyone is smarter than McCain.

Of course, the evangelicals say it's only book learnin'. McCain has "experience". I never met anyone who said the most dumb person in every class they ever took was "presidential". Usually those students were "pitied" for being stupid.

Did he have to read it to know about the scene?

Was that scene in the 1981 movie with Michael Cain?
(I don't know. I have neither read the book nor seen the movie).

I am deeply offended that John McCain lied about his so-called "Christian" experience. He recounts a story he obviously read by the Russian author, Alexander Solzhenitsyn ("The Gulag Archipelago" ) and took it as his own. Despicable.
Then he rails about the spending on the bear DNA study, while failing to report that he VOTED FOR IT.
He fails to mention the 10 BILLION ("B" not M) spent in Iraq per day.
The man is a liar and a fraud. His military experience amounts to less than 24 hours in VIet Nam, almost flunking out of the military academy (finishing fourth from the bottom in a class of over 700), costing the country lives and money in crashing helicopters, and omitting to tell the public how he denied his country four days after his capture. Always puts his country first? John McCain puts himself first- from womanizing and cheating on his wife to making up lies about his opponent.
He is the last person whom we should consider voting for for president of the United States. The only people worse are the people who go along with the lies.

Then why doesnt Obama

bring it up? Why cant he give these Republican assholes what they give him? Do you think Hillary would be so meek? I am so sick of wimpy, losing Dems.

Huff looked in the mirror again.

On this issue

absolutely. If a candidate tried to make an issue of this it would be turned around to make them out as desperate and fighting dirty. There is no doubt in my mind that pandering John "remembered" the story after hearing bout the Solzhenitsin account, but no way to prove it. He has deniability.
