Limbaugh's Really Pushing the Racism

Call me naive, but I'm surprised at how Rush Limbaugh has dropped all pretext of political correctness and gone for the most overtly racist language I've seen in my lifetime in a high profile race. I would never underestimate the right's willingness to use dog-whistle politics. But I thought the days were gone when they would toss the whistle aside and start screaming racist shit into the airwaves.

Of course, Limbaugh wants us to fight back in order to amplify his message and further divide the electorate along racial lines. So, I won't be calling for a boycott or demanding that John McCain condemn Limbaugh or anything. But it is still alarming to see this resurgence of racism from such a prominent source. I guess it's not okay to say this stuff about the Rutger's basketball team, but it's just peachy to say it about the Democratic nominee for president.

It shouldn't come as any surprise

Racism is really the only avenue of attack that Obama has left open for the RepubliCANTs. He has them beat on every single real issue, from the economy to energy to the Iraq failure, and the RepubliCANTs know it.

Expect them to become even more shrill as the general election approaches. Jukebox Johnny has already started flinging the manure, and so far I've been impressed with how Obama's avoided returning in kind. But that level of courtesy can only go so far, as the primaries showed. And, as the primaries showed, Obama CAN respond in kind, and with far more devastating accuracy. (Ask Billary.)

Each candidate's choice of running mate will be VERY telling. And, by all reports, those choices will likely be announced by the end of the week, so they can spend the Labor Day weekend getting new campaign ads put together and on the air, especially during the college football season ramp-up.

"darkies"
"SaltPepper"

Hopefully, you got the memo.

Also, I understand Limbag is not too happy with Lieberman at the RNC so to be on the safe side, add any terms related to "jews" to the list.

Since, I doubt if any serious DBA would make the above mistake, that means that the code above would fail from a serious syntax error!!!!

There's the difference

I'm responsible for maintaining my own code, as well as quite a bit of legacy code, so I write my code with that in mind. Only coders who expect to write once and forget what they wrote don't bother with things like meaningful variable or function names or documenting their code thoroughly.

And what is it that made you think I was black? I never once brought race into the discussion. The gentleman doth protest too much, methinks...

I'm starting to think that perhaps this entire sub-thread is intended solely to distract me, and I therefore depart it.

Obama's campaign has been weak

Actually, Hillary didn't get more votes. Obama surged ahead and when it became mathematically impossible for Hillary to beat him, he just coasted. No reason to beat a dead horse. It would make him look mean and gave his supporters time to focus on things that would win the general election. Obama began talking like the Democratic nominee 5 or 6 primaries BEFORE the last one. He had won and he knew it.

Unfortunately, I don't believe they has done a very good job since then. McCain is an even worse candidate than Bush. McCain's voting record against our troops is a disgrace. One Veterans group gives McCain a D and another gives him a score of 20%.

McCain agreeing that we have a draft so he could start new wars. Obama should be all over that, but he isn't. Hasn't said a word.

McCain saying drill offshore when he doesn't even know if there is any oil there. You have to "explore" first and IF oil is found, THEN we can debate drilling. McCain assumes there is oil, but doesn't know. Even if we drill offshore "everywhere", we still wouldn't know. Of course, McCain graduated 5th from the bottom out of a class of 899 Cadets. That is beyond "poor student" into the realm of "really stupid".

Republicans are like pigs. They throw shit and dirt everywhere hoping it sticks. The difference is the "pig" likes getting dirty.

Hopefully, Obama has a strategy. He certainly hasn't shown it. Standing at the podium with a quivering, puffy lip saying, "I am so a patriot", doesn't cut it. It makes him look weak and whiney.

You know McCain's trip to South America was to drum up support to fight a war against Chavez. Right? Wasn't it obvious?

McCain wants to fight Russia who has thousands of nuclear weapons and long-range missiles. Right? You know that?

McCain, if given the chance will leave this country exactly the same way he left the Forrestal. You know that, right? It's not like he has been hiding it.
