McCain’s Problem Temper
I like this story: Democratic senators who have witnessed McCain’s unpredictable temper in action are warning that his volatility raises serious questions. Politico says unnamed Republicans are claiming that this issue is invented, but it’s hard to take that seriously given that several members of McCain’s own party, including Republican senators, have said the same thing, or worse, about McCain’s problem temper.
The Washington Post ran a blockbuster piece on this back in April but no one has made this into an ongoing criticism-yet. Great to see that Sens. Durbin and Boxer are raising this serious question now–let’s keep this going. One thing I really like about this point is that McCain can’t trot out the POW trump card as a response–it makes even less sense than in other contexts for McCain to say–lay off my bad temper, I was a POW.

If Sen. McCain can be allowed to continue to play the POW card, regardless of the topic or question, then we can most certainly play any footage that exists of him blowing his stack no matter how old or how much he may have been provoked!

As an old fighter guy who on occasion quaffs a few with other like minded jjs, we all recall with feeling the sense of responsibility demanded of us as we were entrusted with a sophisticated machine worth several million of the taxpayers dollars. This was no joke. McCain, either through carelessness or stupidity put himslef in a position to violate his sworn trust. So, from our long percpective, all he has done is lose something the citizens entrusted to him.

I've been saying this since before 2000. I'm talking @ winning. I know 2000 was stolen. So was 2004. However the likes of Ralph Nader and Amy Goodman (I listen to her every day) ensured that it would be close enough that it could be stolen.
