Morning Roundup: Around the Web in a Sneaky Green Disguise

The New York Times recaps the Big Three's quest for free money. It seems the take away message here is that if you act contrite, the government will give you money. Such pageantry!
The Big Three $34 billion bailout in detail from the Wall Street Journal.
A lot of people get mad when they almost get in an accident with an erratic driver and, passing them, see that the reason was that the driver was yakking on a cell phone. Mother Jones thinks there oughta be a (better) law. So does the Center for Auto Safety, which just filed suit after it was revealed that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was withholding information about the risks.
The Financial Times on Ben Bernanke announcing that Fed will extend the gravy train by continuing to fund the credit crunch. Sounds silly when you put it that way, eh?
Did you hear the one about the Texas jail that offered to release a prisoner if he voted for McCain?
The San Francisco Chronicle says good-bye a beloved American voice that sang of civil rights and hope; Odetta died yesterday.
Let the cat fights over stimulus money begin: lawmakers in Philly argue over the best way to line their pockets with miney intended to stimulate the econom. (Washington Post)
California is in danger of running out of money to pay for school meals. (Los Angeles Times)
Herding cats is the name of the game. The Christian Science Monitor wonders if Obama can manage his team of rivals.
A 100 countries want to see cluster bombs banned. The US and Russia are not among them, largely, you see because they want to retain the right to drop cluster bombs on those 100 countries.

Rewriting history.
Watching the interview of George Bush last night was a hoot.
He said that the current meltdown is because of decisions made ten years before he took office. Gee, I wonder who was president then?
Then he said that it was "bad intelligence" that led us into Iraq (bad intelligence or intelligence that came from a "bad" Cheney?)
Then he said the intel our allies had was also bad, but forgot to mention that their intel came from us.
Bush, a shitstain on American Politics.

Dagnabbit.
Better hurry up! Lord knows we can't allow this to happen. Hillary must be catered to.
What wonderful Republicans, willing to help their new-found friend.
Personally speaking: I hope they work it all out.
I was kinda lookin' forward to the FRist! time Hillary would be put in the situation where she is sent by President Obama to make the preparations for that which she criticized Senator Obama for in the primaries: having high-level talks with foreign leaders who are hostile toward the United States.
The irony would be all too rich.

Want to stimulate something? Then stimulate this.
What a fucking mess! I can't see how this could get any faker of a moment of desperation. Talk about having one's tail between their legs going to the other guy with his tail between his legs for help.
The weakness of this government and corporate leaders is embarresing.
Exactly what business plan is there that THINKS for an instance that every household or individual or country needs 1 AUTOMOBILE for every single person? Are they actually called personal transportation devices?
GM has been trying to get out of its contractual obligations for the better part of the last decade, and under an administration like this found many roads to that glorious greedy end. Where's the fucking money you did make, assholes?
Fear this. 300 million cars in America, and not a drop of fucking gas left. 2012
2010? WTF? The delay of that is just idiotic. It took GM 9 months to produce airplanes from a car factory in WWII, but now can't come up with a new vehicle for over 3 years all the while sitting on the blueprints and pattents of EV-1.Fucking liars.
The complacency is killing me, the incompatence running rampant, and the balls are missing.
Bail out for what? More cars? For what a bigger transportation bubble crash?
Could be worse right? Well it is going to be, very much worse. Watch as all the cities and states fail now that the party is OVER! Tax delinquents do not make a city run. Wasting time stealing more money from the tax payers will NOT correct the wasteful greed of government employees. Pennsylvania a few years back gave all elected officials a 50% raise in their pensions along with all judges, police, fire, teachers, and other employees 25%. And now? Not only are the budgets failing but the money for them is somehow NEVER ENDING! Bullshit. Gov. Ed Rendell is the worst of the big spenders and like I have said before about his love affair for PenDot after seeing that they always go over budget came up with the very very intelligent idea of DOUBLING their budget. Thats some leadership fat fuck!! 400lbs and climbing on the tax payers back.....................................blah
