Static Race: Obama By 5

By talkleft

The CNN poll, Gallup tracking poll and the latest Ras poll demonstrate a static race - Obama has held a steady 5 point lead now for about a week.

Ras writes:

Those results have been identical for three straight days as the campaign has entered a period of amazing stability. With leaners, Obama has been at 49% for eleven straight days and at either 48% or 49% for twenty straight days.

This looks like a 5 point race to me, all the way to November.

Obama's lead will go up

After McCain breaks down during the debate.

First people will be shocked at how clueless McCain is. Then they will be shocked at his anger over being exposed.

I wonder if Joe Lieberman will be the one speaking in his hidden ear piece?

I agree

I don't think the race is static. It has reached a plateau after the bump when Hillary dropped out. As McCain's real positions become known the middle will fall away from him. As he runs to the center to get them back, the base will drop back.

It's official: You can call him "McBush"

Excellent!!!

I am pretty sure Obama will win this election

What I'm more concerned about is what Obama will do during his first term. Will we need to vote him and the rest of the dems out of office in 2012? Or will they start to do their job?

I laugh when the die hard Hillary supporters point to Obama when he doesn't behave as a liberal. They think we were "fooled". Well the truth has always been that we already knew Hillary and most of the dems on Capital Hill were republican light. Obama was given a chance as something fresh. If he turns out to be like the rest of them then we had already lost anyway.

Therein lies the problem...

The Obama Administration will need a Congress that won't deliberately block good ideas, but will still have the balls to tell him when he's F'ing up. Oh, and there's still the Cheney Supreme Court, who could conceivably block any good legislation simply by declaring in unconstitutional. Unusual yes, but you know those christofascist Activist Judges...

We're fucked. This congress rolls over like a trained dog. I don't know why Bush doesn't call on congress to hold a continental convention to add amendments on gay marriage and removing the separation of church and state. This congress would go along with it and blame the obstructionist republicans! LMAO.

Look on the bright side...

Maybe before he leaves orifice, the Ape will call on Congress to make beating off a capital offense (Gen. 38:8–10). Pelosi will sit up and beg. The Supreme Nutjobs will uphold it using the argument that the bible has been basis for law previously. That means every republiperv on this blog will get a long poke with a short needle!
