Few House GOP donate to McCain

Few House GOP donate to McCain

Few House Republicans have contributed to Sen. John McCain since he clinched the Republican nomination at the end of February.

McCain, Arizona’s senior senator, has had a far warmer reception in the upper chamber. At least 22 Senate colleagues have contributed to McCain’s campaign, including Sen. Joe Lieberman (Conn.), an Independent who attends Democratic caucus meetings.

Only 21 House Republicans have given to McCain from their personal campaign accounts since he became the presumptive GOP nominee four and a half months ago, according to an analysis of House fundraising reports made public Wednesday.
In addition, eleven House Republicans who did not give from their personal campaign accounts this year contributed from their leadership political action committees (PACs), according to fundraising reports covering the election cycle through the end of May.

So while nearly half the Senate GOP conference has given to McCain, less than 20 percent of House Republicans have pitched in.

Several of the highest-ranking Republicans in the House have yet to give to McCain. Republican Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) and Republican Conference Chairman Adam Putnam (Fla.) have not given anything, according to the most recent fundraising reports.

“Congressman Blunt is focused on retaking the House so John McCain has the Republican majority he needs to lead our nation. To that end, he has been putting his fundraising dollars to use supporting incumbents and strong challengers,” said Blunt spokesman Nick Simpson.

The last sentence in the excerpt I posted is hysterical. Taking the House back?

The only house they're going to be able to take back

...is their own, if they can get the money together they need to avoid foreclosure. That privatization thing's working out REALLY well for EVERYONE, isn't it?

Obviously Roy's offspring is a bit more intelligent & realistic than his father. Blunt's son took a good look at his poll numbers earlier this year & decided not to run for re-election as the governor of Missouri. Our next governor is actually going to be a Democrat named Nixon. :-D

Speaking of deaths in Iraq, did anyone hear about

the US soldier who got 10 months with time served for killing and mutilating an Iraqi soldier with his bayonet? Are we winning hearts and minds yet?

If we haven't yet, this will surely bring them to our side

What better way to foster friendship than to mutilate a fellow "ally."

He was just one of those stinking brown-skinned

ragheads anyway, right? And I suppose it's just a coincidence that the soldier who did this had previous assault and disorderly conduct convictions in civilian life before he joined a military that was desperate to recruit as many warm bodies as possible, no matter how low a quality they were.

Stinkin' towelhead ...

Yes, I heard about this clown's background on the news. Nice people our government's accepting these days, huh? Wonder when they'll send recruiters to Bellevue ...

I just received a letter from my daughter's guidance counselor asking if I want him to release her info to the military. I wrote back, "HELL no!" Think he'll get the hint?

Goodonya, Pook!

Realistically, my wife and I will probably never have any kids. But if we did have, I wouldn't want those slimeballs anywhere near them! Of course, the Homeland dossier on you just got a few pages bigger.

I have always kinda wondered why the recruiters don't advertise where they know there are lots of patriotic, macho young men who must be ACHING to serve their pResident? You know...Young Republicans clubs, church youth groups, that sort of thing. And since most of their stations are running the "Safety Campaign" to use up unsold time, I bet the army could buy commercials on Rush, Weiner, North, etc., dirt cheap! Now THAT would have young patriots simply beating down the door!

Their mother's door. To beg for a place to hide.

We all know that the sons and daughters of repub

war lovers are all too busy with other important tasks. Like Mitten's sons, who were all so busy getting Dad elected that they couldn't join up. I don't recall hearing about a run on the recruiting office by the Romney clan once daddy lost to a repub that even repubs can't stand.

I don't recall...

Hearing of a run on the recruiting office by ANY young white republics, except the ones who are too poor for college and live in an area where there's no job training. Of course, there are no jobs even with training because they've all gone to China and India. As usual, these fine patriotic republicowards are oh so willing to let the children of the poor do their dirty work for them.

There's no way in HELL I'd let her join the military now.

Especially considering the dreggs of society they're letting in now. Christ, she'd probably be safer running up and down the streets in Harlem or East L.A. than at a military base. Hey, if my dossier just got a few pages bigger, I'd say Homeland Security really doesn't have a whole helluva lot to do!

"why the recruiters don't advertise where they know there are lots of patriotic, macho young men who must be ACHING to serve their pResident? You know...Young Republicans clubs, church youth groups, that sort of thing."

Good question ... but then again, would YOU want a bunch of whiney, piss-ant "Young Republican's" in uniform, charged with protecting us??!! They'd probably THROW their guns at civilians and say, "I QUIT!"

Freedom is on the march...

Lest we forget...since the Ministry of Reich-Wing Propaganda has seen fit to purge all reference to it:
