Ode To Hillary

Grateful Dead | I Need A Miracle (Barlow, Weir)
I need a woman bout twice my age
A lady of nobility, gentility and rage
Splendor in the dark, lightning on the draw
Well go right through the book and break each and every law.

I got a feeling and it wont go away, oh no
Just ...

A sad thing happened this weekend

The Kentucky Derby was run and the filly Eight Belles broke her ankles.

I really do not want to use this sad news to make any political point. However last week Hillary Clinton asked people to bet on the filly. She did this based on gender. She wanted to use the filly in the derby as a metaphor for her own political race.

So when I read in the news that the filly had to be euthanized because it broke its ankles I didn't want to equate the tragedy to Clinton's failed attempt at the nomination.

But the metaphor was already there. Clinton put that thought in my head herself and I couldn't help making the connection. It is sad that the analogy is even more appropriate.

Its funny how my mind tries to reject that thought. I guess part of me is thinking that if I accept that analogy then I must be happy on some level that the analogy exists because I do not support Clinton and therefore I must be happy the horse died. That is definitely not the case but I can't stop feeling guilty over recognizing the connection. Strange how the mind works. I just keep reminding myself that it was Clinton herself that tried to attach herself to that horse in some manner.

...I can't stop feeling guilty...

Let me lighten your guilt burden.

The filly won the race to be first breaking through the 'pearly gates.' This horse gets no more abuse.

This horse is in horse heaven. That's where good horses go to not become filly steaks.

The bad horses go the other way, tsssssssss...sizzle, sizzle. So this filly horse is a winner.

Now, you really don't want Obama to get the nomination because your logic tied with Hillary's dedication to 'bet' on the Democratic nominee could be a dilemma for Obamacants.

By the way, racehorse deaths are numerous. Link:
193 deaths in 420 days.

Are you doing damage control on Hillary's filly now?

I said I wouldn't purposely try to use the filly's death as an omen or a symbol of Hillary's campaign. But I can't help it. Hillary started it; not me.

But if we continue the analogy then you are correct. Hillary's campaign reached the pearly gates before Obama's. Because its dead.

"But if we continue the analogy..."

...she lost to someone who lacked "experience."

By f u bush2May 5, 2008 - 1:18pm

No. I was trying to show you how stupid you are in drawing any reference to it.

Many horses in horseracing suffer that type of injury. But like the dirt bag Obama, you don't check into the facts regarding the issue before opening your trap.

Hillary wasn't the only one betting on that horse.

Frankly, I think it isn't good positioning for any candidate to get on the side of any event before there is an outcome, whether it is betting on horseracing or throwing gutter balls.

Do you know how much money Hillary "won" with her 2nd place finish? Maybe she can give herself another loan.

The Hillary Campaign

It wasn't lost on me that the winning horse in the Derby was Big Brown. I thought that was more than ironic. Lately people have been accusing Hillary of trying to kneecap Obama which makes the Derby happenings even more spooky. Could it be that her efforts will hurt her own political future in the long run?

Could it be that her efforts will hurt her own political future in the long run?

What are you kidding?

The Democrats' Democrat?

Besides her efforts aren't hurting her one bit. Her efforts are rearranging the pillows Obama has become accustomed to. Unfortunately for Obama he can't adjust.

By FACTME May 5, 2008 - 12:08pm

LOL

Hillary is the one that can't adjust.

Actually she steals everyone else's ideas that seem to work at the moment just like Bill did in 1992.

I'm glad she isn't the nominee. She would be another woody like Gore and Kerry were.

And the electorate would go "YAWN".

And those are the ones that don't dislike her already.

It should be fun watching her spin tomorrow's results

I'm sure she'll say her close victory in Indiana was a "mandate", just like Bush said he had a mandate after stealing the 2000 election (who knew that the mandate he was talking about was Jeff Gannon?).Her big loss in NC will probably be painted as a sexist attack on her, despite the fact Obama leads her in polls with women. Do you think that if she spins fast enough, she will make time go backwards like Superman? Maybe that is her secret plan! LOL

You are nuts!

Obama is the one that announces proposals after Hillary comes up with them.

And at other times he has no proposals (ideas) so he pulls out the old political gimmick by criticizing others'.

By FACTME May 9, 2008 - 10:02am

yep

whatever you say.

By RoboA2008 May 5, 2008 - 9:31am

"It wasn't lost on me that the winning horse in the Derby was Big Brown.

...And the critics said that Big Brown lacked experience. The only "experience" he lacks is losing.

Clearly, you have sunk to the low-life position of MSNBC.
