Hillary Clinton Unendorsed By Leading Gay Paper
If this isn’t a slap down to Clinton I don’t know what is. I’m sure Clinton will create a new rule stating that endorsements can not be undone. On December 21, 2007, the Washington Blade formally endorsed Hillary Clinton. And today, in an editorial by Editor Kevin Naff, the newspaper formal unendorsed Hillary Clinton.
- Last night’s results in the North Carolina and Indiana primaries have left Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton out of options. She ran a tough and spirited campaign that will be talked about for a generation. But it’s over.
- The time has come for Clinton to adopt a gracious and conciliatory tone, end her campaign and endorse Sen. Barack Obama for president.
- Tuesday night was, indeed, a game changer. Clinton suffered a drubbing in North Carolina — a “big” state, in her terminology — and barely squeaked out a win in Indiana. She needed a convincing win there and a strong finish in the Tar Heel state to convince voters and, more importantly, donors that she still had a chance to win over the dwindling number of uncommitted superdelegates.
- Unfortunately, all the talk of experience and competence was belied by a campaign rife with incompetence. From Bill Clinton’s ruinous (and arguably racist) campaign swing through South Carolina, to an obvious failure to craft a strategy past Super Tuesday, her campaign staff made so many miscalculations that Hillary went from a coronation to a shocking defeat.
- Hillary Clinton’s gay supporters should take a day to mourn her defeat and then join Obama’s cause. She’s resilient and will bounce back, probably as Senate majority leader, a job much more in line with her skills than that of president.

Hard to comprehend why HC....
..is staying in the race. She had to loan her campaign more cash...other than WV, Kentucky and puerto rico the rest of the states left look like Obama territory....just doesn't add up.
Why would she take on debt in a campaign she can't win? Maybe Clinton Inc knows theres a skeleton in Obamas closet that for whatever reason they can't reveal and they're hoping it come out in timeto save them...only scenario I can think of to give her hope. It'd have to be major dirt as well....

You may be right; there still may be an issue out there that is a "third rail" to Billary but not to McCain. It may be an issue so heinous that if she uses it, she fears it may get her the nomination but totally cost her the election. So, since there is a really good chance she has lost this nomination she'll pass the "dirt" to the McCain camp through "back channels" so that Obama loses in the general after an "October surprise". If she loses in the general to McCain, she's done forever. If Obama wins the general, she can't run until 2016, in other words, if Obama gets the nomination, she's done, forever.
The Presidency is her alimony payment for putting up with and covering up Bill's indiscretions for all those years, it's her chance to make history and not end up as an "also ran" like Ferraro. She won't go quietly into that dark good night...Not by a long shot.
Gonna be a "neat" general election season...

I just can't get over the fact the guy thinks Iraq was a good idea...for me that puts him in the "questionable judgement" category.
I can understand the "it was a mistake but we're in knee deep and have to see it through" line of thought even though I don't agree with it.
He just loses me when he says it was the right thing to do because for me, it just never passed the old cost/benefit analysis. Just didn't add up in short....

Well now that Obama has FINALLY thrown "Reverend" Wrong under the train and backed the train up and ran over him again, "Reverend" Wrong is no longer an issue for me. Props to him.
Obama is on target with the "gas tax" holiday being a farce. Props to him.
McCain is again talking about "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" read amnesty and is going to meet with La Rasa (read Mexican KKK). I respect McCain's service and WISH he'd have gotten the nomination in 2000 instead of GWB. I think he'd have handled the attacks on 9/11 better. I like Obama but as I've said on other strings (have caught flack about) think he may trust the UN and "International Community" a little too much. As soon as the elections are over I hope to see GWB take care of the Iranian "problem" with surgical strikes so that Obama doesn't have to deal with it.
In other words, I may end up supporting Obama....UNLESS, Obama takes Clinton as his VP. If that happens, I will actively campaign for McCain, donate money and volunteer to work for the campaign...
Now, if Obama takes somebody else and McCain acts like a jackass and take Jeb Bush, McCain will be totally on my spit list and I be sporting an Obama sticker on my car.

If Clinton had any "dirt" on Obama, she would've pulled it out and used it by now. She may be hoping that some unknown will shake loose, but really, she has nothing on him. Think about it...wouldn't it be cheaper to blow him out of the water with a scandal than it is to loan her campaign more money?

If the "dirt" exists (and I have no reason to believe it does - but for argument sake let's say she's got something) and it is such that her using it renders her "unelectable" by dems as it's a "nuclear option" then she can't use it. If she were to get the nomination through such tactics then lose the general, she has NO shot. Now, if she has "dirt" that she CAN'T use wouldn't it be better to slide it to McCain and terminate Obama in the general so in four years she can say "See, I'm the better candidate..."
Yes this is all Machiavellian but we ARE talking about the Clintons here....

I have to say, Sarge. I think that was much of the reason for her continuing to stay.
They wanted to plant doubt, watch it blossom, and harvest it at the polls.
Only, the season came to too quick an end for them.
But I'm guessing they'll be just fine with the possibility of McCain being able to harvest it in November.
Because, of course, there is the more cynical view to take of it.
They knew they had lost as early as February...
But they continued on anyway with a new plan to divide and conquer along racial lines...
So that they could eventually point to cherry-picked polling and scream "Unelectable!" just like they used Wes Clark to do to Howard Dean in 2004...
All the while, helping the GOP by doing much of their dirty work, to include:
--the dividing among racial lines
--the arguing that Obama can't be "commander-in-chief"
--the arguing that he's "elitist"
(all GOP playbook rules)
--and , in one that might go overlooked, generating polling -by continuing on- from each subsequent contest which would provide data that the GOP would well have had to pay pollsters for from their own depleted pockets
--etc. etc. etc.
But The Clintons would never do that. Would they? And they would never go so far as to band with old foes from the VRWC like Limbaugh and Mellon Scaife et al. to do such a thing, would they?

and many of us have candidates that we have in the past, and/or currently support. I kind of expected Kucinich to be shoved out early on, and the writing was on the wall...the MSM had already chosen who the candidates would be.
I was devastated when Edwards dropped out, so I can empathize with what Clinton supporters are feeling right about now. You can see it coming, but you want to stop it from happening. When Obama is the nominee...and he WILL be...you will be resentful. It's only natural. I still feel that Edwards would have been the best candidate, but I try to live in reality. And reality is this: It will be Obama vs. McSame in November.
Could we have done better? we will never know. The question now is this...Which of the two would do the most good/least harm to this country that we all love so much. At least with Obama as president, it won't be the end of the world. I can't say the same about John "bomb Iran" McCain.
Just my two cents....fire away.

That's the point (the main one) that I'm trying to get across to the die-hard Clinton supporters. If their candidate ends up losing the nomination, as she most likely will, by all indications, they need to imagine a John McCain presidency before they cast their vote... and do the correct thing. I stand by that exact same statement, should, for some unforeseen reason, it's Clinton vs. McCain.

Why would anyone be thinking of, after what she has tried to do to the nominee/Party in the primary, putting her in a position where she would have the increasingly-powerful means at her disposal to present to or prevent from the floor certain pieces of legislation? What would she try to do to him as President and the Party as a majority? Prevent legislation they/he desire(s)? Provide them/him with legislation they/he don't/doesn't desire to force the uncomfortable veto fights? She has also gone so far in this primary as to propose, and work to bring to the floor, political pandering measures that a majority of her own Party opposes. Can we look for her to place a Dem Congress and Dem President in the uncomfortable situation of a Gast Tax Holiday fight? How about a new proposal for Iran called Clinton-Lieberman?
What are people thinking?
For such a position, I would propose we have a parliamentarian who has shown a clear desire for Party unity and an outward willingness to be helpful to our nominee / to-be President.
For such a position: Chris Dodd for SML.
(I just had a feeling this fight was coming...)

I don't know what people want from her at this point; she's already changed her tune effectively to "McCain sucks and I'm gonna campaign for Obama after I get done with going through these motions". So let me get this straight. If you’re a white school taught American, a African American as opposed to a down and out dumbass with no amplitude to get a job living in the welfare comfort zone. These are the people Obama need to get as a base because THEY RUN THE COUNTRY. Really!??! So her argument is that she owns the dumbasses and he has the elitists??? That’s what its sounds like she is saying!! Not me. I am a African American and I am educated. I am ashamed that -well not ashamed. Just mad that this country basically is run by "us" I loop myself in it because I am an American, but with tat said there are more stupid people out there than educated ones (not just school taught but with a lick of common sense). And yes they out number the ones who are critical thinkers. But I am not to believe that just because you are not college taught, you can’t think on your own two feet and pick the right candidate.
The ones who listen to Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, true liberal-phoebes who rely on someone else thinking for them. (Mental handouts if you will) Hillary's last take on this can be seen as anything but non- divisive, but downright desperate. And that's a serious understatement. I used to respect her (well I didn’t think even she would play the race card). It’s ironic that Obama has not stated that at all. Let's wait and see if Operation Chaos will bail her out now.
