We love you, Sam!
Sam,
We've listened to you since the beginning of AAR, we've enjoyed every show. AAR just won't be the same without your voice.
We've written emails numerous times, we even talked to Mark Green on the last cruise. Seems he doesn't want to listen to your loyal listeners. Damn!
We'll be where ever you land, Sam; and we'll keep reading your blogs and stuff.
Love ya!
And love Mya's comments.

Really - Really Air America
Sam doesn't have a freakin clue of what he will be doing tomorrow. Really?
OMG - I hope they are just waiting to annouce he will replace the 3-6 slots. However, if that is not the case, then I got one thing to say..................................
MARK MY WORDS: I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO SLAM - EMAIL AND SPREAD THE TRUTH ABOUT HOW AAR IS NOW DEAD.
My husband finally doesn't ask what I am doing @ 4-7 on Sundays - He just says:
It's Sammy Cam time!

That will be a great show, I hope Mark Green sees it. Sammy is smart (not that funny) Mark is funny and smart :) it would be a great team with Sammy in NY and the Mark in LA. I will love it.
I am down to only PodCasting Rachel now and I use to download 4 daily shows and 2 weekend shows.

One by one Air America becomes less and less important to me ... more and more I turn to other stations to get those people I want to listen too
it's now down to Thom Hartmann and Rachel Maddow ... they are all that is left and Rev Gaddy ...
Why can't Sam have that 3 hour show or at least part of that 3 hr vacancy that Randi left....?

This is my hope for Sam so that I can listen to Randi at 3 on xm and him at some other time. 7-10 pm would be good. Give me a chance to listen to one hour of Rachel. But then there is always mornings. Nothing good is on until Hartman.
I think all of this is a grand conspiracy to have everyone move to the other liberal progressive network and be profitable there. And of course Rachel will be getting her own TV show soon.

By marcmaronrulesMay 11, 2008 - 5:14pmThe Sam Seder Show is ENDING?!?
I have been a faithful listener since the inception of Air America Radio on March 31st 2004.
As of today, May 11th 2008, Air America Radio has exactly 1 (one) ORIGINAL on-air personality left- in the person of Rachel Maddow. Rachel has now found a national niche as an analyst on the MSNBC cable network. Who knows how long Rachel will stay as an on-air asset for Air America? Not much longer, I'd bet-particularly if her guru David Bender was cut in the same ignominious manner as Kent Jones was.
I can't understand why- especially when the nation is on the cusp of a progressive reawakening- you at AAR are so hell-bent on killing the golden goose that started this ball rolling.
The point of this rant is this: why in heaven's name are you pushing out your best on-air talent? Sammy has been a stalwart of this network from its beginnings! He, more than anyone in your lineup, has the Air America brand and bears this proudly.
In the beginning Rachel was kicked around in much the same manner. She even did a pre-Morning Sedition show (OH- DON'T GET ME STARTED on the demise of MORNING SEDITION!), a live show at 5 in the bleeding morning!
Sammy deserves the weekday drive-time slot on the Air America Radio Network. He's done this the time-honored, old-fashioned way:
HE'S EARNED IT!!!

from the mistakes of their predecessors.
You might also think that they'd pay attention to what's going on with their dwindling listener base.

They get rid of Maron, then Malloy, then Randi, demote and now get rid of Sam ...... AAR has become Error America - unfortunate at a time when we are in the midst of a progressive awakening. I'm hoping Sam goes to Nova M where they appreciate real liberal talent. When Rachel gets her TV gig, the only thing worth getting here will be Ring of Fire on Saturday.
I'll have 3 free hours on Sunday since I won't need to sit and stream Sam on the computer.

By puddytat2May 11, 2008 - 5:56pmMore Seder... NOT LESS!!! Come on, AAR...
I want more Sam, not less! After shifting my podcasting to include NovaM I'm really frustrated that my other favorite, Sammy... is now being taken off of Sundays too!!! I've just gotten use to missing him through the week, waiting for his weekend synopsis which I always find interesting and funny... now this is ending too???
AAR... I know you guys are trying to appeal to a wider audience... but you are rapidly loosing your most loyal listeners... I don't bother with lionel any more, have found the afternoon randi replacements mildly interesting, but really enjoyed the week of Maron and Sam... I am typing this as I listen to what is billed as the last Sunday show... I really hope not...
I've always encouraged folks to check you guys out, gotten numerous people to tune into Green 960 and can't understand why your best hosts are getting so little time. I love both Sam and Maron, would love to see them alternate/co-host...
Even the late evening slot or early morning slot (Bill Press is a real bore!!!) would greatly benifit from these great hosts... FIND A PLACE FOR THEM, PLEASE... loosing market share as you have by loosing Randi... is something someone would allow to happen only if they were trying to destroy Air America... is this what's going on?
I will definately reasses whether to continue as a long term premium member based on what happens with Sam and Maron... The late night/early morning slots would be great, as they are poorly served right now... unfortunately you've already lost the stations carrying you during the afternoon slot... so sad... unless you're trying to drown the baby...
I'm listening to Sam and Marc Maron chat right now... I love them... they are so great... Please WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By vastmanMay 11, 2008 - 5:56pmGoodbye Sammy
Let me add my good wishes to your new endeavors. Here's hoping that it's five times a week on Air America. But, if it isn't, I'll adjust in the same way I have for catching Rhodes and Malloy on Nova. Hey guys it ain't all bad. We're getting more and more options. When I started listening back in 2003, AAR was the new and practically only game in town. We're growing people! Just think how wonderful it will be when Rush is just an unpleasant memory.
You've worked hard to accumulate loyal listeners Sam. We will follow you. Let us know where and when.

Sam,
Sorry to hear about this, though I thought it a possibility once Randi got mistreated openly and publicly. Your AAR work has been resplendent and inspired (though I am sorry things didn't work out with Janeane). You have definitely put in the work and paid your dues.
You are an up and coming talent -- don't let the AAR debacle convince you of anything differently. Admittedly, I followed your Majority Report days a lot more closely but I tuned in on Sunday when I could and always enjoyed your filling in for Randi and others. But you are picking up the skills for the future. I look forward to you finding a nice situation where you are allowed to thrive -- and I'll be there. Don't be a stranger! :^)
I know you probably didn't like the character, but loved the movie NEXT STOP WONDERLAND and I always think of you fondly being one of those goofy guys (spoken by an ex-goofy guy!) who repeated:
"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Last live show. Tried to serve ya well with my craziness and occasional researches, hope not all in vain, so best of luck to ya and know you wont go too far away bro.
Ok I wanna make it a good one so here it is. Can you explain or debunk the Limbaugh's Ditto heads' claims that Saddam had WMD and all of it was moved to Syria? Ditto-heads claim this story of satalite photos of a caravan of trucks moving millions of tons of WMD over the Iraq Syian boarder in like March-April of 2003 I guess right before Shock and Aw(now if true then that does mean Bush let WMD slip right through his fingers, right out under his nose.... and that would mean Bush is the most incompetent yadda yadda yadda so Im all for it except if that isnt the case then Im for what the case is. Right?)Anyway....
Ryan Muaro/ Dep. Under-Sec Defense John Shaw or whoever type claims and stuff from a couple years ago or something, or whatever, that Limbaugh listeners to this day are still clinging to.
Soooooo, if so. Where are these satalite images and why didnt we invade Syria? Or are there not any?.... A right winger I talked with said,"Well Bush got so much flak over Iraq you really think hed risk invading another country?", all during the run up to Iran and they have no problem invading Iran right now so thats a load about the Bushies worrying about flak from the press or people cause the Bushies don't care if people hate them, in fact they love it! Theyre assholes. Bloodthirsty selfish frightend paranoid dillusional petty impotent assholes.
Right? Sooooo, um... Did Saddam have WMD and did it all go to Syria or not? All those who know a full of -S- Limbaugh listener need the final word on that.
Take it easy dude. Smoke a fatty. You earned it. Have a good'n.

I can't believe this. And I don't understand it. Please, whoever are the powers that be at AAR these days, I don't know why this show is ending, but please give Sam the weekday afternoon slot. I still can't get used to not hearing him during the week, and my local so-called Air America station (NYC) barely carries any of your programming as it is - I get Ed Schultz when I should be able to hear Thom Hartmann, and Alan Colmes at night.
Three hours a day of Sam would be a godsend. People are depending on you.

By sidnoraMay 11, 2008 - 7:08pmAlll very strange...
If I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd think AAR management is part of the *vast right-wing* conspiracy.
One-by-one all the AAR talent, has been released.
Hopefully, Sam gets the weekday afternoon slot, but if not, AAR really is toast... especially, here in NY. All that will be left of AAR, will be one hour of Rachel (7-8), and *Ring of Fire* on Sat. No Thom Hartmann (we get Ed Schultz)... no last hour of Rachel
(we get Al Sharpton)... then Alan Colmes.... and everything else are infomercials.
At first, I didn't like Sam, but he's really grown into it.
AAR... do not let him go!
And, how about finding a station already, in NYC, to broadcast AAR content?

Ed is not part of Air America Radio.
There are:
1. Shows
2. Networks
3. Stations
Shows may or may not be part of a network. Each station like 1480 KPHX or XM radio may be a member of a network or multiple networks. They each choose their own line ups. They may have shows from Air America, NovaM and other networks and also not network affiliated shows and local shows.
XM carries Ed Shultz along with shows from networks like Air America. But Ed is not part of Air America.
Go to XM's site to find their line up.

By gail nobleMay 12, 2008 - 1:35amDeath Rattle
But now, YOU NEED TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!! We Need THE ORIGINAL SPIRIT OF AAR to get us through the upcoming WAR-ELECTION! During its existence, AAR has been a true political and emotional lifeline for us downtrodden LEEBERALS. And the added treat of my being able to call in and actually TALK with most of the hosts and share my story/points of view--talk about a healing experience from the abusive Gingrich-Bush abuse of the 90's and early 2000's! But sadly, AAR is dying. In the beginning--those amazing first months: Al Franken--the GODFATHER of AAR--unequaled, but his political- ironic-comedy genius has almost been met by the intelligence, humor, dedication and exuberance of SAM!! Of course, his leaving was voluntary, but it created the SECOND huge void in our AAR world. Does anyone remember that first AAR murder?? I'd get a great start early every morning by listening to Rachel and LIZ Winstead--remember her? were SO GREAT together-- Informative AND funny! AND they were the first to call out the despicable Lou Dobbs about his racist daily diatribes. But suddenly, we began to hear--damn--name??--the stupid-people talk-show, dancing-with-stars-guy??? as Liz was cut! And Rachel did go on, supremely informatively--I love her-- but not as entertainingly. That was o.k. for news geeks like me, and she did have Kent on to enhance the laughs, until he was killed off too. Next was Mike Malloy--yeah, he did rant and rave, but as I recall ONLY about the devils in the White House and world, and yes, he was not very P.C.--but informative?--Yeah!! Then HE was gone, and replaced, again, by informative, yet kinda dull fill-ins, and finally John, who, is yes--informative, and kind. THEN the RANDI fiasco. In the beginning, Randi was amazing--I forced myself to overlook her surliness and rudeness to so many callers because I learned so much from her. HER last few months, however, made it easier for me to actually feel RELIEF when she "left" than sadness. I think this must be what abused spouses must feel if their abusers suddenly die in a car accident. So I am liberated, but whole again. The the YOUNG TURKS! I warmed up slowly to them, perhaps gun-shy from previous emotional attachments, but I would get up every morning eager to listen and verbally spar with Cenk periodically. First Ben disappeared, and then Cenk--poof!!! And we're left with NO AAR CURRENT NEWS in the a.m.; just re-runs of the well-meaning, but just-not-quite-right "subs." Thank God my local radio station has the good judgment to have STEPHANIE MILLER on instead of the condescending AAR choice--I don't learn a lot before I get to work, but I DO get a laughing start to my day!. THEN,finally, I do get my info for the day--Thom is very good; and if people would actually listen, he DOES usually give the right-wing-nuts a good challenge, but, it's probably just a matter of time before he too, disappears into the black hole that is AAR. There are TWO people who can save AAR--PHIL DONAHUE, and, of course....SAM SEDER!!! (and if you could throw in a Stewart-Colbert two-hour slot somewhere, you'd go on forever!!!) You're DYING!! Please get your act together, AAR!!

I have been a premium member almost from the begining. With the lost of Al Franken, The Young Turks, and now Sam, I cannot see why I would continue with being a member. Thom Hartmann won't be enough to keep me. As a member of The Young Turks, I will just give the money that I would pay to Air America to them. I even purchase items that were advertised on Air America cause I really wanted for it to succeed. Now with Sam leaving, what is the point? As a consumer, I will just have to take my money else where.
I really do love when Sam guess host with Cenk. Hopefully, Sam will find time to do it again.
For the love of God, Air America needs to get Lionel off. I can't stand him. I live outside Atlanta and when I listen to him I think that I am listing Neil Boortz only he isn't as good as Neil.
To Air America,
Good Bye

As a person who pays to listen to AAR podcasts, I am about ready to move on to Nova M. Sam, Randi and Thom Hartman are my favorite hosts. I was hesitant to pay more to move to Nova M when Randi left since I would lose Thom Hartman. I was also waiting to see if AAR would give Sam Randi's old spot. As Sam goes so goes my subscription.

To Sam: I have loved your show on AAR. You deserve to have a show that's on every weekday.
To AAR: Please put Sam Seder on in Randi Rhodes' old slot, or give him another time slot so that he's on every weekday. He is very intelligent, great to listen to, and speaks out strongly on important issues that we don't hear about elsewhere. He is a wonderful asset for AAR. Don't waste this talent!

I for one am sick of AAR getting rid of all the talented hosts which I enjoy. Marc Maron, The Young Turks, Mike Malloy, and now Sam (again). If Sam is truly no longer being given any airtime at all, then the only show left which I enjoy is Rachel's. I love Rachel's show, but I just do not see any reason to continue paying to be a member for only her show. Especially when she is probably going to get her own TV slot. I wish AAR the best, but cannot continue to support them with my dollars if they get rid of Sam. Period.

By f u bush2May 14, 2008 - 2:06amSam Seder: The Best of the Best!
Please, forgive, Air America, for not understanding any of this or why in tarnation Air America has proven so difficult for Sam to win over, over the course of the last four years.
Sam (and Janean) were there in the beginning - when AA was just a fledgling progressive radio format concept. Despite being relegated to rather obscure Sunday afternoons, he remained steadfast, filling in for Al, Randi, Tom, and others when needed. Sam was / is a trooper!
But, for some reason AA now sports the likes and/or dislikes of Bill Pruiss, Mr. Elliot, and other sorta obscure 'late-night' hosts, etc., while the original pioneers like Mike Maloy, Randi Rhodes, Al Franken, and now Sam Seder, too, have all move on for one reason or another.
I mean no offense to anyone, but, honestly Sam Seder deserved a better break here - just my honest opinion.
Sam, conducted some of the best live interview shows of any of the AA hosts past and present; and similarly engaged in some of the more unforgettablly funny, satiracal political parodies ever delivered over progressive radio.
In any case, Sam, don't even think of putting a stopper on what you do and have been doing so brilliantly over the course of the last years! Thanks!
Best Regards to one of the Brightest and Sharp-witted of Progressive Communicators on the planet!
Denny
