Snowjob: The McCain/Palin Terror Ties

By Beau Friedlander

Earlier today the McCain released a new web ad. We won't run the name of it here. It's about Senator Barack Obama's "murky" ties to a grassroots activist. The activist in question was once a terrorist. When? Before Obama was out of shortpants. What else does McCain/Palin have? Nada.

We're not linking to the ad. Easy clicks are not as valuable as the truth, and since there's no semblance of the truth in McCain's new ad, we're not going there. It's better just to talk about it. We do provide video below, but it shows you the truth--Palin's quotes about her own terrorist ties. While Obama does not have any ties to terrorists, both McCain and Palin do, and unlike this tenuous nonsense about Ayers, their links are recent.

How do we know this? Well, it's pretty simple. While the McCain camp got busy sinking to new lows (think monster truck rally), progressive journalists have been busily working out the ins and out of the terrorist ties on the Republican ticket. The results are shocking.

Salon's David Talbot poked around the Alaska Independence Party and struck gold. "AIP chairwoman Lynette Clark told me recently that Sarah Palin is her kind of gal. 'She’s Alaskan to the bone … she sounds just like Joe Vogler'.”

So who is Joe Vogler? He's the group's founder, and he makes Bill Ayers sound like a civics teacher. “My government is my worst enemy. I’m going to fight them with any means at hand.”

Palin supports Vogler. Vogler is supported but the Iranian government. I'd call that a tie. (Quite a distinction from the more recent "Bomb Iran" diddy set to the Beach Boys classic.) And before you dismiss the allegation as pie-eyed propaganda, this comes from Salon:

Vogler’s greatest moment of glory was to be his 1993 appearance before the United Nations to denounce United States “tyranny” before the entire world and to demand Alaska’s freedom. The Alaska secessionist had persuaded the government of Iran to sponsor his anti-American harangue.

That’s right … Iran. The Islamic dictatorship. The taker of American hostages. The rogue nation that McCain and Palin have excoriated Obama for suggesting we diplomatically engage. That Iran.

Now for McCain's ties. (As a side note, it's sad that G. Gordon Liddy doesn't count as a terrorist, because the man adores Senator McCain, and has donated both time and money to this most recent futile attempt to get McCodger elected.)

That said, there's plenty of on-topic material as regards Senator McCain's terrorist network(ing). Let's start with the biggie: McCain's work with the U.S. Council for World Freedom. It connected him directly to the Iran-Contra affair. The Contra's were an ultra-right-wing terrorist group. The New York Times reported in 1988 that McCain donated $400 to the terrorist organization. McCain is open about his close relationship to convicted arms trafficker Oliver North.

None of this gets to the point of the matter, as McCain might say. The point is that none of this would stick if Obama weren't black.

I was canvassing door-to-door last weekend in a Philadelphia suburb. It was a white, working-class area. A police officer who lived there had been killed the week before. Racial tension was high. The neighborhood was mostly Democrat, and mostly undecided. Why? The answer I heard more than any other: Obama's a Muslim.

Check out the second video to see what a Kossack gleaned from a recent McPalin rally. The meme is real, and McCain is using it. It's dangerous and irresponsible on many levels. Let's pray it backfires.

CONNECT THE DOTS - IT'S ALL SO CLEAR

All of it's connected. The wife of Walter Annenberg, Leonore "Lee" Cohn Rosentiel, who runs the Annenberg Foundation, is the one that brought Obama and Ayers together. She is a long time Republican (who was also very close friends with Ronald Reagan) who has given fundraisers that has raised millions for the Republican Party and she is a strong supporter for John McCain. She hired Ayers along with Obama and about a dozen others for the bipartisan board for her foundation. If it wasn't for her, Obama and Ayers might not have even met.

So, I guess, according to John McCain, one of his biggest contributors employs domestic terrorists, which of course, by association, makes her a domestic terrorist, which means JOHN MCCAIN PALS AROUND WITH AND IS FUNDED BY DOMESTIC TERRORISTS.

exactly

I knew that for years. Too bad Comrad Frogg didnt.

According to a news report yesterday, McCrash has ties to

ANOTHER domestic terrorist ...

"McCain connections coming back to haunt him

Shared stage with abortion doc shooter sympathizer
John McCain, who along with his running mate has been attacking Obama over decade-old associations with unseemly figures, is not without his own nefarious associations.

One association, which seems to have gone unreported until now, involves a delegate who represented McCain at this year's Republican convention and previously expressed sympathy for an activist accused of shooting a doctor who performed abortions.

Applying the same logic as Sarah Palin, one could argue that the members of the GOP ticket are "palling around" with abortion clinic attack sympathizers, supporters of right-wing militants, perpetrators of political espionage and revolutionaries seeking to secede from the United States."

mccain palled around with a group...

with ties to nazi collaborators.

it looks like...

some repubs were associated with ayers too.

McSame's Ties To Terrorism

are as pronounced as Obama's.

To wit: Johnny McWetstart is good friends with G. Gordon Liddy, a convicted felon who attacked the headquarters of his opponent party in an effort to secure an election for his boss.

Didn't Osama bin Laden do the same thing in london and Madrid?

annenberg repubs were palling around

with ayers.

The wealthy Annenberg Foundation was apparently too liberal to detect the potential for terrorism in the grant request, which Obama was selected to administer. Annenberg has concealed his true nature under a mask of Reagan conservatism.

annenberg repubs were palling around

in front of mccain...

a mccain supporter says socialists are taking over america.

did mccain correct him?

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Trying to head off a potentially embarrassing state ethics report on GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, campaign officials released their own report Thursday that clears her of any wrongdoing.

Sen. John McCain's running mate is the subject of a legislative investigation into whether she abused her power as governor by firing her public safety commissioner. The commissioner, Walter Monegan, says he was dismissed in July for resisting pressure from Palin's husband, Todd Palin, and numerous top aides to fire state trooper Mike Wooten, Palin's former brother-in-law.

Do you want this woman holding any office?

Trickle Down cascades its fraud and failures .

alaska country first,

says palin.

Beau, Beau, Beau, wow dude,

Beau, Beau, Beau, wow dude, this is grasping at straws even by your standards. So are you seriously trying to say that just because Lynette Clark told you that Sarah Palin sounds like Joe Vogler, that it actually connects the two? How many buildings did Volger plant bombs at Beau? When did Palin actually voice support for Volger? What did she say that supported him? Are you drawing the conclusion that Palin supports Volger just because Clark said she sounds like him? Did Sarah Palin launch her political career from Volger's livingroom Beau?
After getting through the first few paragrahs of your commentary it became painfully obvious that you are not an honest person, so I'm not even going to comment on the rest of your silly little rant. Your smears are not fooling anyone Beau, other than people that do not care that they are being lied to.
I hope this was your attempt at humor sir. It would have failed at that as well, but at least it wouldn't have been as pathetic if you were trying to be funny.

Really?

You can say what you want, but you can't change the fact that Palin has close ties with a radical right wing group which has expressed hatred for the United States, advocates secession. and gave Palin much assistance and support though out her career.

http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/10/10/palin_chryson/

How many bombs did they plant? How many riots did they incite?

How many bombs did they plant? How many riots did they incite? I'm failing to see how calling for a vote on something is worse than planting bombs and starting riots.

They don't have to.

You've obviously never applied for a government job that requires a security clearance. A stated affiliation with a group that advocates the overthrow of the United States government, by ANY means, disqualifies an applicant from obtaining a clearance. Under that criteria, Palin is unable to obtain a security clearance.

Next time, spout your inanities at someone who doesn't have a clue. Practice in front of a mirror if you need a representative audience.

Considering Painful's husband was a member of Volger's group, as reflected here:

"Inconveniently for Palin, that's the same secessionist party her husband, Todd, belonged to for seven years and to which she sent a shout-out as Alaska governor earlier this year. "Keep up the good work," Palin told AIP members. "And God bless you." "
http://www.thestar.com/News/USElection/article/514503

And whose party convention she spoke with as recently as earlier this year, as reflected here:

"Keep up the good work," Sarah Palin told members of the Alaskan Independence Party in a videotaped speech to their convention six months ago in Fairbanks. She wished the party luck on what she called its "inspiring convention."

The Alaskan Independence Party, founded in 1978, initially promoted "the Alaskan independence movement." But now, according to its website, "its primary goal is merely a vote on secession."

I fail to see how Beau would be on a 'silly little rant' and 'grasping at straws' ... it appears you've had your head stuck up your ass far too long, wee one ...

"She's Cheney in drag." Me

Ok, let me get this

Ok, let me get this straight, planting bombs and trying to kill people makes you a grassroots activist, while calling for a democratic vote on something controversial makes you a terrorist......

Please explain how calling for a vote is an act of terrorism that is worse than planting bombs and trying to murder people for their beliefs.

You guys are WAY off on this one.

Not so much

Actively calling for the ouster of the US government makes you a terrorist. Her bohunk's activities in the Alaska secessionists are exactly that. QED.

If all else fails, immortality can always be assured by spectacular error. ~~~John Kenneth Galbraith

Do you even know what

Do you even know what terrorism is? How is simply calling for a vote on anything a terrorist act? Who has been terrorized by calling for the ouster of the U.S. government? Please tell me who lives in fear for their lives because of the Alaskan secessionists? WHO? Which individuals are the Alaskan secessionists targeting and terrorizing? You can't possibly be this stupid.

"Actively calling for the ouster of the US government makes you a terrorist."

BULLSHIT, planting BOMBS makes you a terrorist, starting fucking RIOTS makes you a terrorist, calling for votes does not.

So that's why you're so afraid of ACORN?

ACORN is registering record numbers of legitimate voters.
High voter turnout hurts the g0p.
Therefore, ACORN hurts the g0p, and you must fight them. Right?

There's been rumblings from some of the more extreme (f)right-wingers of bringing back the Sedition Acts. Do you agree with them? Think long and hard, if you can push your way through your Kook-Aid induced fog.

by comrade Frogg

I agree, Bush is a terrorist. Dropping bombs on an innocent country based on lies and causing the Iraqi people to riot is a terrorist act.

THAT'S The Problem, Frogglodyte...

You can't ever get anything 'straight'! You're a dumb ass!

G'night, Dummy!

Sigh. I never said that planting bombs makes you a grassroots activitist, while, as you so stupidly put it, 'democratically voting' on "something controversial" makes you a terrorist, numbnuts. Actually, if my history serves me correctly, a few states tried seceding from the Union over 150 years ago and that didn't go too well for those secessionists ... and, I'll disregard the fact that a certain person was 8 years-old when said terrorist activities were undertaken by another certain someone so I'll get to the point, which, is:

BOTH activities are TREASONOUS; while one conducts one's treasonous behavior by planting bombs, the other conducts one's treasonous behavior by actively seeking to secede one's state from one's own country by supporting such rhetoric as, "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government" and, this gem, "And I won't be buried under their damn flag."

Herein lies another difference, Bozo: While I make no excuses for that one certain person who used violence as one's message, said someone has corrected his treasonous behavior and is now an upstanding member of his community; the other is still quite active in one's treasonous behavior by speaking at the secessionist convention in June, 2008 and said to, "keep up the good work."

Keep beating it, Jeff

Bad "mourning" to you, cowardly cyber terrorist!

All your sheepy-man bleating to defend Moose Cooter's terrist associations, ignores one very large fact. Obama's lead has INCREASED since the attacks. Face it, gutter trash. You're done.

I think Alaska should secede.

Mother Russia could then intervene in an internal dispute and Alaska would then " volunteer" to re- join the Russian Empire.
BTW, it's pretty quiet on the fascist moonbat front.

Anyone else having problems with AAR today?

What's up with the whacked out screens today?

Ditto. But it's only happening sporadically with me.

Tell us again how that warrantless wiretapping thing works

...and how it doesn't affect American citizens.

Despite pledges by President George W. Bush and American intelligence officials to the contrary, hundreds of US citizens overseas have been eavesdropped on as they called friends and family back home, according to two former military intercept operators who worked at the giant National Security Agency (NSA) center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.
