Sarah Palin Wanted To Ban Books From The Library

By thePoliticalCarnival

I'm just shaking my head. This kind of blatant attempt at censorship enrages me. Sure her base loves it though. I just scoped the article, but she does not go over well from what I can see.

Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." The librarian, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire her for not giving "full support" to the mayor.

That's about all I had time to type before this blog subject rolls down the light speed conveyor belt.

Who the fuck wants to debate shit anyway, right my ADHD friends at AAR?

I'm with ya Anti

Is this the best we can do?

"bigga badda hunky dorey bananafana cheese wiz."

Loved it - very funny

Sarah Palin (aka Bitches be Crazy!)

There has to be an ulterior motive with Palin's selection as VP. She is not the best qualified person for the job by far; even Romney would be a much more sensible choice as a leader. I'm sure the Neocons needed an empty-headed puppet like Bush they can control, once McCain suddenly passes away.

McCain's greatest virtue is that he is not Obama. All these so-called Conservatives are supporting him solely for that reason. If Obama were Republican, all these right wingers would lining up to suck his dick and proclaim him the second coming of Reagan. Look at how they were kissing up to Lieberman (formerly 'Loserman') at the convention. It's not about ideology, it's about being on "Their Team".

The stories about her Mongoloid baby don't add up either.

Jim Jam Jabootie!!!

Yeah, you're gonna hear alot of bitching about Palin....

She took on Republicans and Democrats in Alaska. Of course they're going to try and shit on her. God you people are afraid of women.

"When in danger, when in doubt...run in circles....scream and shout".
How the democrats plan to deal with the fact that the Republican VP selection has more executive exprience than their Presidential nominee

And yet you are a neocon

who enjoys being in a party that shits on women. Still taking those "flights" to the package store I see.

Dems don't have to do a thing to her....

she's done it all herself. I could care less if she was a woman or man, dem or repub. Her abuse of power is indefensible, except to repubs, who look upon it as a badge of honor.

As for the ridiculous talking point that she has more experience than Obama, you can put that one to bed. It has been hilarious watching McCain's handlers try (and fail miserably) to point out any of her decisions. She is an empty vessel that repubs are trying to claim is overflowing with knowledge and experience.

I'm not afraid of women...I'm rather fond of them. Of course, I like to make an exception in your case. It's hard to be fond of someone who combines such arrogance and ignorance in one package. And you're about as fearsome as Pee Wee Herman....but nowhere near as funny!

It's even more ridiculous to

It's even more ridiculous to say that Obama has experience.

Yeah, I guess the 4 years in the Senate doesn't count as much

as being mayor of a town of 6700.

Repub dimwits are so hilarious!

Wow! 4 whole years! He

Wow! 4 whole years! He didn't even chair a committee during those fabulous 4 years.

So?

She had to bring her own chair to her City Council meetings, just so she'd have a place to sit!

Any more meaningless dribblings you'd like to spill? Might as well get them all out now, while I still have the mop and bucket handy.

McCain/Palin '08: the also-rans.

Ummm.. Of course not... How could he?

Apparently, you really haven't a fucking clue how the Senate works.

You just keep flapping your jaws there, jerkingjumpjackoff... that's what you're good at.

Obama has experience and something even better

Obama has good judgment!

I'll take good judgment over a lifetime of experience any day.

"...religion, in and of itself, ...is neither good nor bad... it is like a knife. When you use a knife for cutting bread, it’s good. If you use that knife to stick into somebody’s guts, it’s bad." - Bishop Desmond Tutu

Take the blinders off

She was mayor of a town with about 8,000 people. Obama organized more people than that just in the South side of Chicago. And Governor of Alaska isn't exactly a monumental job. The whole population of Alaska is about a sixth of the population of Chicago. You go ahead and vote for the insane old guy and the vindictive woman, you were going to anyway. But don't think that the disenchanted Hillary supporters are going to flock to McCain just because Palin is on the ticket. She is antithetical to everything Hillary worked for.

She took on Republicans and Democrats in Alaska.
She took on her sister's ex-husband and fired the person who wouldn't fire the ex-husband.

It's got nothing to do with her being a woman. It's got everything to do with her being bad for America.

Better ask Trooper Mike Wooten

...if HE'S afraid of her.

Or how about the entire Agriculture and Conservation Board?

McCain/Palin '08: the also-rans.

"Bitching"??... Kinda of a sexist term, isn't it Illuminati?

And it's called "vetting" not "shitting".

Excuse me if I'm not ready to hand over our NUCLEAR LAUNCH CODES to a beauty queen with a comunications degree (a retard major) from Idaho whose "experience" is a year and a half governing a state with a population LESS THAN ONE-THIRD THAT OF BROOKLYN.

And the WORST thing??... She doesn't believe in science, which makes her JUST PLAIN STUPID.

She's a disaster.

She's under investigation for her Cheeney-esque disregard for the rule of law.

Her medieval adherence to "abstinance only" sex education has been proven TO INCREASE teenage pregnancy AS SHE NOW KNOWS BETTER THAT ANYONE.

Sorry HD

The board is what it is.

I know - but

You guys have so much fun with Shedd and huffy I thought I'd get a few yucks with "Mr. Bold Face".

Good blogging last week, remarkably troll-free - guess we're back to Pee Wee's Playhouse with some of the regulars.

Try as I might, Palin just doesn't upset me that much - one of her first acts as governor was to veto a bill that would have cut off health care benefits to gay partners of public employees.

And can anyone who puts corrupt reepers in jail be THAT bad? Hell, if she's elected VP, that would be her full time job!

Now that's change I can believe in!

Oh yes!

Thank God you rode in on your Contarded horse to act as the voice of reason on this forum!

Thank GOD you Republicans have come to our aid TO RESCUE US FROM YEARS OF REPUBLICAN CORRUPTION AND LAWLESSNESS.

Phew! Thank heavens the fox is here to protect the henhouse from those foxes!

FUCK OFF!

Watch out A G. Don't mention what John called Cindy. HD is very sensitive. LOL

At the risk of sounding civil....

There is no factual basis for that urban legend. "3 reporters from Arizona who insisted on anonymity".

How convenient.

Repeating this unsubstantiated and unsubstantiatable crap (3 guys in a bar - talking - all of sudden one of them says "hey guys, remember 16 years ago John called his wife a c***? Hey let's call up that guy doing the new bio - he's looking for nasty unsubstantiaed dirt to help sell his boo< so this one will be good for a few free drinks. Let's just tell him he c*** use - ooops - "can't" use our names because we are so courageous and brave".) is just nasty and misogynistic. There is no, repeat, no evidence that this ever happened, no way of verifying and just shows how desperate some people are to demonize those they don't agree with.

How would you react to someone stating "according to 3 reporters who asked to remain anonymous, 4 years ago when Obama was running for Senator his wife discouraged him - he then called her a (fill in the blank)"?

The fact that you can google dozens of references to this without any substance just shows how susceptible people are to swallowing bullshit as long as someone sprinkles a little of their favorite partisan sauce on it.

Am I too "sensitive" to swallow bullshit? Yeah, guess I am. This is as bad as reepers and their "Obama is a muslim" crap. Why do you expect them to knock it off if we indulge in the same tactics? I will not take partisan cheap shots from either side as acceptable. It's called a "principle".

"A new biography about the GOP Presidential nominee, The Real McCain by Cliff Schechter, reveals a disturbing incident in which a hot-headed John McCain humiliated his wife in front of campaign aides and the press with a monumental blow-up. According to the book, "Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain's intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain's hair and said, 'You're getting a little thin up there.' McCain's face reddened, and he responded, 'At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c--t.' [EXPLETIVE IS NOT DELETED OR MODIFIED IN THE BOOK] McCain's excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days."

I think your really that "hatey" person everyone talks about.

I do recall them accusing KvnRJohnson of being "hatey", now they are accusing you of being KvnRJohnson. So, who are you? LOL

Nothin Special -

I have learned a lot on this blog from all who participate with links to good sources, reasoned arguments and especially those who have a sense of humor. It is readily apparent who they are, but sometimes they lapse. As do I - no one's perfect.

Why aren't you advocating war with Syria? All your friends say the wmd of Iraq went there. Wasn't the reason (one of them anyway) for invading to keep those out of the hands of terrorists? Is Syria less likely to talk to terrorists than Iraq was?

Looks to me like you should be worried about all those mushroom clouds Bush, Cheney and Rice were talking about on the TV back in 2002/2003.

You people are loopy. Seems to me we were on "that one" in iraq when we had inspectors there who uncovered what? a handful of missiles that went 50 miles too far? Yet they found them and Saddam handed them over. How many inspectors does Israel have in Syria?

You seem awfully laid back about these wmd that you people claim were moved from Iraq to Syria. What if Bush were to say it?:

By f u bush2September 2, 2008 - 6:25pm

I don't really believe that there is much in the way of WMDs in Syria. It's easy to be laid back about it.

Many of those inspectors thought the US was going to find something (although they thought it was too early to tell for certain).

And I don't need to mock the anti-war people, they do a good enough job of looking ridiculous as it is.

I think Bush looked more ridiculous crawling around the floor at the press club meeting pretending to look for wmd while soldiers were dying for his stupidity. Tell me that didn't look ridiculous!

By f u bush2September 2, 2008 - 6:50pm

I think we can all agree that Bush has had plenty of moments that can be clearly marked foolish. But I don't think that acting stupid is any less stupid just because it's on the opposite end of the political spectrum.

Yep, I'd much rather be associated with the guy that makes a tasteless joke and looks dumb than the people that feel it's acceptable to call a marine a war criminal or spit on a veteran. Funny thing is that these people claim that it's about the American casualties and how much they care about the troops, but most of them never ask any veterans how they feel about it or only base their opinion on the veterans that are solidly on the anti-war side without ever examining the statistical evidence. Interesting.

In other words

you choose to think for yourself. Or as some on the site would say, your a troll.LOL I don't support Obama, but I do like the man. I am no great fan of the Clinton's either, but I do give Bill his due. He was a masterful politician. I am not a strong supporter of "women's rights" but only because I believe in Human rights, and as such, I choose not to differentiate between man's rights and women's rights. Both genders should have the same rights, regardless of genitalia and other plumbing differences.

LET ME POINT OUT

We have John McCain on record calling elected Representatives of the American public "shitheads" and "fuckers" ON THE SENATE FLOOR.

Then you have three professionals all saying exactly the same thing, something they witnessed.

I suspect they were telling the truth.

You need to leave.

Nothing you say will distract us from Palin's book banning or membership in the Alaskan independence party...

You seem fairly well distracted in that photo.

By the way, Palin did not ban books. You are a liar when you say things like that.

God you people love criminals.

I know how McCain and Palin can mobilize every republican voter. All they have to do is promise to out a CIA officer.

Now I can see why repubs love her

She is in the same repressive, arrogant and vindictive mold as the rest of them. Don't like that person's opinion? Ban them. Won't bow down and kiss the great leader's feet and do their bidding? Fire them. Sarah Palin is the gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving.....

I didn't like that effort any better, because it doesn't matter

who wants to censor things....it's wrong no matter what. Those who want to censor things apparently have forgotten where we live. If they want to control all manner of speech and opinions, perhaps they'd feel more comfortable in China or North Korea.

By UffdaguySeptember 2, 2008 - 1:51pm

Amen brother. You know what Larry Flynt says about it, you can't say you support free speech until you support the right of someone to say something that goes against everything you believe in. Now in that same vein, free speech and tasteless speech aren't always the same thing, however bad manners should be discouraged, not banned. But I agree, censorship is never good.

And how many have you jumped on the "lets ban someone"

bandwagon. It's is you, fu 2, othello, AG, liberal iconoclast, etc, who are always calling for someone to be banned, because you people don't like the manner of speech and the opinions of others. You're such a hypocrite.

If Palin Can't Control Her Own Daughter's Sex Habits

who the hell is she to tell other teens & women how to abstain from sex or what to do if they should become pregnant ? The only difference between Palin's daughter & the average teen that gets pregnant is Palin is going to foot her daughter's bills & support the baby. How many 18/17 yerar olds do you know of legally earn enough to money to support ababy & themselves ?

Palin's daughter would not even be an issue if republicans were not such hypocrites pretending they are the party of ethics, morals & values. The republicans stand on a soap-box & preach from the puplit then come off as the biggest hypocrites when one of their own is exposed in a scandal. The republicans should just admit they have gays, lesbians, bisexuals, abortions & corruption within their party just like everyone else. The stupid republican hypocrites are too stupid to admit they have flaws.

I suggest Sarah Palin, ( SHUT UP ! ) & clean up her own backyard before telling someone else how to live.

Watch the RNC convention tonight: Larry Craig, Jeff Gannon, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Limbaugh & Coulter are going to " TOE TAP in a bathroom stall & sing ( Y ) M C A ...!

I suppose all this means

I suppose all this means that you have control over your children's sex habits, huh. The real issue here is that her daughter, as opposed to liberal daughters, chose life for her child instead of the death you libs support for yours and other's babies.

Uh-oh

Looks like baby homer isn't on Rick Davis' email list. He said in an interview just this morning that this campaign is NOT about the issues!

I don't understand that approach, I really don't...it seems so self-destructive to the RepubliCANTs. Seriously. If he's trying to make this election "not about the issues", how can you and the other g0p sheeple-trolls make use of ANY Official Talking Points? They're all based on issues!

McCain/Palin '08: the also-rans.

No the real issue

is that you Republicans are hypocrites. This teenage pregnancy thing is so common among you fake christian, family values nutcases. You dont care about teen pregnancy or abortion when it happens to people like you. You dont care about abortion when black or brown people do it.

Why is the teen pregnancy rate so high among you inbred, right wing fake christians? Is it your lack of morals and values?

?????

Was it the daughters choice, or was it palin , that made the choice for her. After all , it was palins career on the line. Or she could of gotten pregnant , not just from being horny, but saw it as a chance , to get out of that house, I bet living under the same roof , with her is not easy. The family smiles when they are outside, but what happens when the doors close.

Sounds like your projecting your family life onto

others.

don't worry

Only someone whose life is in shambles would even think that. I really did not try to strike a nerve on you. But don't worry , once you hit bottom there no where else to go but up.

People might read more of your spam...

If you would learn the difference:

"Your" is the second person possessive, meaning "belonging to you." As in "Hatey, YOUR posts are all a bunch of bullshit spam."

"You're" is a contraction for "you are," as in "Hatey, YOU'RE a cowardly ignorant spammer."

Jesus H. Christ, I knew the difference in second grade.

You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.
---Ray Bradbury

You apperantly don't understand someone trying to live

a just and moral life. Just because someone fails to be perfect, at all times, does not make one a hypocrite, it makes them human. What you are saying is that Palin should have advocated pre-martial sex, and under age sex, to avoid being called a hypocrite. Try having some understanding instead of being so judgmental.

No, it is complete hypocrisy.

The Republicans call themselves the party of "family values". They try to say liberals have no family values. Then we find out all the perversion going on mostly among Republicans.

The "family values" of Republicans are molesting lil boys, bathroom gay sex, and taking drugs with gay hookers among other perversions.

The Republican motto is

Do as I say, not as I do.

and on the other side

You know there is also someone else in this soap opera, thats the kid , if he is not 18 yrs old. That got palins daughter pregnant, I know you have heard of trooper gate, Just think how scared he must be in this shotgun wedding. Update : He is 18 yrs old , so if palin has any morals , she will have him put in jail. and registered as a sex offender.2:00 pm

There are usually loopholes in those laws

A typical loophole in the "statutory rape" law allows for an affirmative defense if the difference in ages between the two is less than a certain amount; as an arbitrary example, if the girl is 16 and the man is 22, he can be charged with statutory rape, but if he's only 19, there's just three years' difference between the two, and the "statutory rape" charge gets thrown out.

He should have kept it in his pants; she should have held the aspirin between her knees. The parents of BOTH the kids should have been more strict and more observant in the kids' actions, and should never have left them unsupervised. But failing that, he should have had the brains to use a condom, or she should have looked into a diaphragm or pills, and so on and so on ad nauseam. It's very, very clear to all concerned that the "abstinence-only" approach does not and will never work, so it's time to clue kids into ALL the available options.

'Nuff said.

If all else fails, immortality can always be assured by spectacular error. ~~~John Kenneth Galbraith

I get so confused

I get so confused on the statutory rape laws, I'm glad you said loopholes, So if someone does not have the right lawyer, I'm going to assume that a 18 year old with a 17 year old , can still be charged with , statutory rape.

Nope

Statutory rape only applies to an adult having sex with a minor. the law assumes that minor cannot give legal consent to an adult. You can imagine how complicated that would be with 2 minors. Technically, it would be stat rape from both sides.

Forcible rape, however, is completely another matter.

Teen charged in rape of girl, 11
THURSDAY, AUGUST 21 (updated 10:53 am)

GRAHAM — A 16-year-old Alamance County teen remains in jail today on charges that he raped an 11-year-old girl.

Edgar Serrato, of 1509 Apple Street Extension in Burlington, is in the Alamance County jail on a $75,000 bond. He was charged with first degree statutory rape, according to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.

Serrato was arrested Wednesday. The charge came after the parents of the girl, whom the sheriff's office did not identify, filed a report with authorities.

The sheriff's office said the assault occurred at the victim's house in the northern part of the county. The sheriff's office did not specify an address or say when the alleged statutory rape took place.

Serrato is to appear in court at 2 p.m. today.

Teen Charged With Raping 12 Year-Old

A Beaufort County teenager is charged with raping a 12 year- old girl.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office arrested 17 year-old Michael Miller of Harvette Road in Washington and charged him with first degree statutory rape involving the 12 year-old.

The sheriff's department says more charges are possible against Miller.

Because in Georgia

16 years old is the age of legal consent. I should have clarified that it all depends on what the definition of "minor" is - it is judged to be the legal age of consent, which is a state-specified age.

The laws vary from state to state, re: age of consent

and difference's between ages. Most, if not all states do define a person under 13 or 14 years of age, sexually off limits. Unless the partner is roughly the same age. A sixteen year old and an eleven year old is pushing most states limits. As is a 12 vs 17. Some states allow consent between minors at 14, some don't allow consent at all. Most states do not press the issue if its consensual and the parties are 17/18.

Hatye seems to kow an awful lot about this

Been diddling those 14 year old boys again, Tío Tomás?

general knowledge

My nephew just turned 18 years old. He has had the same girl fried for a least three yrs now. And they are one year apart, So last week , me and my brother told him , that he could be charged with statutory rape, since i live in California. So i found this site , that gives the consent ages for every state. Just for general curiosity.

http://www.ageofconsent.us/

If it had been a Dem...

All of those good Christians, full of God's love, would be calling for execution. So I say burn the kid. Let him pay the full penalty allowed by the state of Alaska, for statutory rape, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and let him be registered for life as a sexual deviant. Show us how "the law to the letter" is the Way.

Are you relieved? You have first hand knowledge. Why are you asking these questions on a liberal blog?

You're already exposed, mole.

Just go back to Uncle Karl and tell him you screwed up again. Maybe he'll give you a banana.

McCain/Palin '08: the also-rans.

Go away troll!

Go to clownhall with your right wing crap. Normal people have figured out your game months ago.

You're sounding very SHRILL today, mole

Why is that? Is it because you're watching your precious g0p fall apart, and there's no amount of bubble gum and baling wire that can hold it together? Or are you getting so desperate because you don't want to be seen as a double failure...first Billary, and now Jukebox Johnny McWetStart?

It's been fun taunting you, but you're beginning to worry me. You really need to get back on your Abilify. I'd really hate to see you declared "danger to self or others" and packed off in a strait jacket.

Say hi to notsohottie when you see her tonight at your Convention.

McCain/Palin '08: the also-rans.

Ughh!... glue-huffer again.

(*Groan*!)

glue-huffer should be put on the endangered species list... as the last of the PUMAs.

There remains only a few dozen of these psychotic losers left in the wild... It's sad, really.

I am just glad you trolls

will be gone from this board after Obamas loss. Why dont you leave now? Your job is done.

I guess Prof 9-11 doesnt remember calling McCain a war hero and a great American. You people are good trolls, but not perfect.
