That little flag story that the increasingly desperate Republicans are spreading around? Not so much:
But according to a senior official involved in organizing the Democratic convention, the McCain camp is simply lying about the flags.
"All of the flags at Invesco were picked up and put in bags and into storage, along with the unused flags and campaign signs. The flags were going to be donated, and the signs were going to be sent out to be used elsewhere," the official said, speaking anonymously since he was not authorized to talk to the press.
So I guess that makes the Republican liars gullible and stupid, huh?
Fox News' Carl Cameron and Bonney Kapp reported that they had "been told" that "a vendor at Invesco Field found the flags, which were going to be thrown out, and turned them over to the McCain campaign."
The Democratic convention official says that's not true.
"It's pretty reprehensible on their part," he said. "Someone made an assumption, took the flags, and essentially lied about what was going to happen to them. I mean, c'mon, we were never ever going to throw out flags."
I forgot despicable. Gullible, stupid, despicable liars.
Emails to three McCain spokespersons inquiring where the flags were found and how the McCain campaign obtained them were not returned.
Why would they be? Then they might have to actually admit they were gullible, stupid, despicable liars.
UPDATE: DNC spokeswoman Karen Finney issues a statement: "American flags were proudly waved by the 75,000 people who joined Barack Obama at the Democratic Convention. John McCain should applaud that, but instead his supporters wrongfully took leftover bundles of our flags from the stadium to play a cheap political stunt calling into question our patriotism. On the same day he agrees to join Barack Obama at Ground Zero on September 11, John McCain attacks the patriotism of Obama supporters who so proudly waved the American flag at our historic event in Denver just days ago."
UPDATE II: Another statement from the Democratic National Convention Committee: "Stories circulating about flags at the Democratic National Convention are false. We distributed more than 125,000 American made flags at the Convention - the flags removed from Invesco field were intended for other events and taken without permission. It's disappointing that someone would take American flags without authorization and then falsely describe how they were being used. We have the utmost respect for the American flag, and it's sad to see them being used for a cheap political stunt."

Oh, okay.....stored in garbage bags mixed together with used water bottles, DiGiornio pizza boxes and crumpled up paper next to dumpsters is what passes for storage these days?
McCain didn't steal them...a boy scout troop found the flags next to the dumpsters and took them, contacted the McCain campaign, who took them and distributed them to audience members. Placed the rest at memorials and gravesites, which is what Obama's campaign SHOULD HAVE done instead of throwing them out and then lying about it.
Saw the pictures....these were not being "stored"...they were being thrown out...by the Hate America First crowd....enjoy your Obama orgy; your days are numbered.

I've been reading the comments about the Artical "The Big Republican Invesco Anti-Patriotic Flag-Disposal LIE", My name is Joshua Crumpley, I am sixteen years old, my mother may or may not be a member here, it is more likely so because of how often she visits the website.
I am currently a "Would-Be" Voter for the candidate Barack Obama, if I would have been of voting age in this, such a crucial Election. I am not a firm believer that Obama is the "Messiah", Nor "The One", Nor do I believe that the republican demographic are all Radical, in fact I am upset because I believe I see much Bickering about this whole issue between Countrymen.
I created moments ago an account here which I suppose makes me a Troll, so be it. What I came in here to try and do is to make sure this issue is not contorted and imagined to be the work of the "Left Wing Commies" Or the "Right Wing NutJobs" It's not about that, I hope we can all be Countrymen about this, I hope we can all be Adult about this.
I don't think "The Republicans" Are behind this, I am concerned because I have heard Dick Cheney was seen in Georgia before the terrible events unfolded, I don't trust certain members of this Administration because it is my belief from what information I was able to find on the matter that we had known of a possible attack on the World Trade Center and I would like to rule out if incorrect the possibility of his hand in the situation in an aggressive mannor.
I wonder that this could be an "October Surprise" Because of how well done this was in terms of giving those who would use "Politics of Fear" In this Electoral Process, it does seem that it would both empower that strategy, while hurting Obama, and all while he is concerned with Sarah Palin. Such a strategy is something I would call "Destroying the Enemy with Heaven", an Ancient Chinese book detailing King "Wen" being advised on how to use the "Three Armies" by a teacher the "T'ai Kung" The book is titled "The Seven Military Classics of Ancient China" Also detailing information on how to infiltrate a country without using Any kind of Military Force, hence "Destroying the Enemy with Heaven".

I am both hurt and angry, GottaLaff insulted my country men and I don't support that, regardless of how I feel about some in the party, many of the Republican Voter Demographic have been good friends of mine, and still are.
Regardless about what I see as the Division of the parties, I don't play by those rules because dividing a nation is a very dishonorable and clear way into destroying a nation. Unfortunately I believe Dick Cheney knows that very well, this whole thing seems engineered too well with a flawless execution, I don't believe it will work if I am right about the tactic he may have used, I can only hope I am wrong. Regardless, if we all are going to think clearly, we cannot argue, we need to discuss, we cannot be afraid, we need to be cautious, investigative, and patient while we do.
I believe this is the way of out-maneuvering this fell clutch of circumstance, after all it hurts no one and helps everyone when we are working with each other for answers.
I believe being a Patriot, and what defines a Country as the "Best Country in the World" Is being able to tell your peers that regardless of who they are, where they are from, that you love them as your brothers and your sisters. 1.) In the event of someone in government getting antsy, they'd probably pull my file and check into it.
2.) As a general matter of street-smarts, I try never to argue with someone holding a gun. If they show up at the house, they can enter via force, and there's very little I can do to stop them. Standing on m constitutional rights doesn't help much. Inviting them into my house, and then calmly talking with the officers in question, while the three-ring orgy that is my conglomeration of friends... will probably guarantee the officers won't be back soon (unless it's a thursday. That's open mike night.)
3.) I believe in the constitution... but as the sage said "these are your rights...as long as you don't try to use them." Long before Cowboy-hat Oath-breaker came on the scene, the 4th and 5th amendments were routinely ignored by courts, unless you had a good enough attorney. (FISA, the whole "Good Faith" doctrine as vitiating "Fruit of the Poisoned Tree," the running problems certain groups have with the FBI and their tactics... etc etc ad nausaum, ad mortem, ad infernum, et retro.)
4.) Fractious fighting among the progressives/liberals is EXACTLY what the neo-cons want. We keep fighting amongst ourselves. They keep building "Big Tents." Come Election day, they have all of those folks on the same page, while we scramble to keep up.
Instead, I suggest that we find common ground, develop our own playbook, and stomp these nazis into the ground!

It's amazing/depressing that a "by all rights" non-entity like Palin can be made into a standard bearer for "rural folk" because of the insanely stupid way the "libs" attacked her for being a "rube" "barbie doll" "nascar/redneck".ect,ect.....

I think basically they need to stick to attacking her record...ie flip/flop and exageration if not outright lie on the bridge to no-where. Her exageration and contridictory facts on her claim to be a reformer or whatever....her lack of a record and hiding from the press is open game.
I'd just be real carefull on hitiing her on religion....I know there is some whacky stuff out there on her but I think ultimately it'll play bad with "rural folk" and be labeled as "godless liberal' attacks.
There are some lies out there on Palin like there were on Obama so some serious fact checking is in order before the Obama folks put something out there.
I'd stay away from anything that questions her choice about having her son...no win.
