RUSSIA/GEORGIA
Despite Georgia’s call for a ceasefire, Russia continues to push into South Ossetia and Gori, and seems set on regime change- sound familiar? We will to talk to Spencer Boyer from the Center for American Progress today about the latest in the now 4-day conflict and what this may mean in terms of our own Russia/US policy moving forward.
IRAQ
Well, it looks like Iraq and the US are knee deep into negotiations for withdrawal, but what have we agreed to and what are the sticking points? We’ll talk to Fawas Gerges, Chairholder in International Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies at Sarah Lawrence College, about where the talks are and where they are going.
OLYMPICS
The Olympics are officially underway, with lots to see and do- Ron will give you the latest on who’s winning, who’s losing and what Bush is doing while there…
OH, THE HORROR
Think 80’s horror flicks were the best around? Hollywood is having a resurgence of the culture of villains- from Reality TV villains like Omarosa and Gossip Girl bad boy Chuck Bass to film ner-do-wellers like the Joker, people have a fascination with the dark side- Ron will look at this phenomenon and also check out the newest discovery of the “Horror Gene”- why some of us love the scare and gore while others run to the hills…
All this plus McCain’s latest attack ads, the latest in the Veep stakes and John Edwards.

Its almost election time...do we know what state
Ann Coulter is voting in this time around? Or is she dating another Justice Dept. official?
You would think a lawyer like Edwards would know...
its never the crime its always the cover up.
you would think a lawyer like Spitzer would know
Great point.. the worst part IS the cover up ... the denials .. " lies .. what we like to call him " .
Elliot was even using escort agencies similiar to ones his office investigating.
What's incredibly reckless is that Edwards was running for the Democratic Nomination.
Had he been the nominee, this would have been a tremendous disaster for the party.
Agreed Murf
Politicians have always been egomanics that skirted(pardon the pun) law and morals throughout the ages...but now that our representative gov't has become a gov't run by Multinational corporations and their congressional lackies..their inappropriate behavior(ex: $80000 in the freezer)
is becoming more and more brazen.
Ron is it true?
When Bush heard Georgia had been attacked his first reaction was to check on Alabama?
bush reaction
I think Dubbya's first response about the Georgia invasion was ..... " where is that women's beach volleyball venue again ?
putin reaction
" imagine that .. invading a foreign counrty to effect regime change " ..
Apparently Putin's response to Bush protesting Georgia was.." at least we didn't misconstrue pre war intel as a pretext to invasion .
. this is Russia .. we don't need the people's permission first"
Common ron
Not everyone bumps into other people when they are texting.. Yes some do.. But make a law against bumping into people, not texting because you think "all" people texting bump into people (there are some areas where guys bump into me, and it aggravates the hell out of me.. but they are just lumbering animal/humans.. how can we make a law of this?).. Same ggoes for the driving while talking on the cell phone.. There are existing laws (running lights, etc), that would take care of all this if they were enforced.. It annoys me greatly that there will probably be cops out there someday looking to see if someone is talking on the cell (to make revenue for the state).. They might even use automated cell phone detectors and send the moving violation in the mail (like the auto red light cameras).. Are you dioing this just to aggravate (for ratings)?
