THE CAMPAIGN
McCain is hitting Obama hard on almost a daily basis. Will Obama fight back? With his latest ad out calling McCain a “Washington Celebrity”, are we seeing the beginnings of some brawling? Ron will talk to New York Magazine writer John Heilemann about if and how Obama should start swinging.
RUSSIA/GEORGIA
Russia has called for a halt to fighting but has yet to indicate a withdrawal of forces. Is this the beginning of the end of the struggle? Ron will look at the White House response
as well as the candidates.
ENVIRONMENT
Speaking of the White House- their latest game? Bush and co. propose an overhaul of the Endangered Species Act, leaving it to them to decide if public works and other federal projects will harm endangered species in the area- this takes the Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service out of the picture and allows the Bush Admin to be the deciders - we love the way that goes, right?
ETHICS IN SCIENCE
As technology grows rapidly and new ideas make their way into the laboratory, where is the line drawn in ethics and doing what is best not just for today, but for the future as well? Ron will talk to Colin Finan with the Nanotechnology Project about the latest in the scientific ethics conversation and who, if anyone, is being held accountable.

" moral principals gain acceptance by consistent applications"
" the last 8 years we have squandered any moral authority "
Well said ron ...
..After 9/11.. the world had a great collective compassion for the United States.
Used properly, this could have been an effective weapon against terrorism.
But it wouldn't have made Halliburton any money.
After our invasion of Iraq based on false information, we've lost the moral authority, the world hates us, and the half trillion spent on the war is tanking the economy..
