I am with you guys on this one. In fact, there were several ballot initiatives on pot this year, one decriminalized possession under a certain amount (I think this latter one was from Massachusetts). It passed:

And when I say decriminalize I believe that it is still an offense but just not a criminal offense. They called it The Sensible Marijuana Policy Initiative, also known as Massachusetts Ballot Question 2, and replaces current criminal penalties with civil penalties on adults possessing an ounce or less of marijuana. I don't like the idea of any penalites at all, but I guess it's not a bad start.

Few notes on Neanderthals:

Its not clearly established whether they should be considered a separate species or a sub-species of homo sapiens. The anatomical evidence suggests that Neanderthals on average are significantly different from modern humans, but there is a lot of overlap so that a Neanderthal walking around today would not be obvious. I think the consensus view is that a Neanderthal raised by humans could probably develop language skills roughly equal to ours.

The truth is we have to find a balance between taking care of yourself, and taking care of others. So . . . you take care of others because they are there, just as you are there, be they vulgar or kindly. They live their own lives as you live theri own lives.

The bottom line is cut the crap and learn to tolerate other people, including the relatives you like to dislike. As long as they have with what to support their opinion, and you have with what to support yours, and, you can hash out those differences amicably over something or other why make sociopathic noises.
