It’s all Palin all day in the political news, and we’ll give you even more unexpected unvetted shockers about Sarah Palin’s political past. But we will also catch you up on the speeches from last night – Bush did speak despite heroic efforts to keep him out of the McCain spotlight.
Congresswoman Betty McCollum will tell us what she’s seen from the inside the convention halls.
Over 300 protestors and journalists have been arrested at the Republican National Convention. We’ll get the latest news on the police treatment, the protest tactics and the political impact from Boston Globe reporter Bryan Bender who is live on the scene in
As part of our small heroes series, we’re going to talk with a humble biology teacher who fought to have the right to teach evolution in the face of bible belt opposition. Don’t miss it.
And yes, we will spend some time on Joe Lieberman’s betrayal … as well as the latest problems for the Department of Justice and Alberto Gonzales.

EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE
Can we stop on the executive experience crap!
Hey I know someone who had more executive experience than McCain, Palin, Obama and Biden put together! He not only was Governor of a large state, but he also had executive experience in the private sector. Hey he even has an MBA! Yes, it is George W. Bush.
The guy who has been president for 7 years now--hey how's that working out?
Maybe executive experience isn't all it is cracked up to be.
BTW, Ron, Congress did give the president a line-item veto. It was declared unconstitutional by the SCOTUS.
God Sent Or Troops To War: The REAL Christian View !
Hi;
Please, Think about that "God Has A Plan" Pronouncement;
Who is Sarah Palin's GOD?
Lets Start There, and Work Back From The War Decision By The Current U.S. Government Under The Administrative Control Of The Republican Party...
1st : Go to the source of that notion, BIBLE;
John 18: verse 36 is very clear, Jesus says while on trial for his life;
" My Kingdom (GOVERNMENT) is NO PART OF THIS WORLD"
2nd Jesus is Baptized, Goes into the wilderness for 40 days.
Luke 4: verses 5,6,7,8 ; Matthew 4: verses 8,9,10 ; and Mark 1 all describe it.
Jesus is offered ALL THE KINGDOMS (GOVERNMENTS) OF THE EARTH...
And REJECTS THEM as part of the WORLD and under SATANS control.
Now I understand the Bible is never considered, and in many quarters not understood to mean that,: Jesus wanted his followers to be "NO PART of the World" and it's Governments. But that is what Jesus said and it's very clear....
So in defense of GOD; what ever your name for god may be; The God Of Israel, YHWH, Allah, Jehovah, and any other name that applys;
"GOD did not send U.S. Troops to war"
George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and the U.S. Government sent those Troops to war.
Now If George W. Bush is Sarah Palin's GOD,
That " WHO" part needs Clarification.
Evolution is real
Take a look at the book "Evolution What the fossils say and why it matters" by Donald R. Prothero.
Evolution has been supported not just through the fossil and geologic record but also on the molecular level. It has made huge advances in the last 50 years and is supported by thousands of pieces of evidence within different fields of science. There is no other theory that stands the scrutiny of the scientific community. In fact the science of evolution is always changing and growing and is self correcting. That is the fatal flaw of religion trying to be scientific. They are not self correcting and do not move forward. But then religion is dogma that never fundamentally changes and is not science thus should not pretend to be such.
Creationist have no business in the public classroom posing as science when they have no scientific experience or founding. This is purely a Christian ideology to force their belief it into the classroom . I know of no other religion in America that forces their dogma in our public schools. And yet the tactics of intimidation and fear of the Creationist are not Christian at all-I'd say they are Medieval and only stands to dumb down our already lackluster children's education.
Faith of any kind should be kept at home or in the church. Not in the public schools.

evolution discussion
Just a clarification— Ron said that evolution is referred to as a “theory” (I don’t remember his exact words, to paraphrase...) “because we can’t go back in time and actually see it happen, and thus can’t prove it the way we can prove things like the boiling point of water”. This is an incorrect statement about what a “scientific theory” is. That is not why we refer to the “theory of evolution”.
I cringed when I heard that, because I think what Ron said could leave listeners with the impression that the way we know about evolution is in some way “lesser”, or less provable, than the way we know about other parts of science. I'm sure it wasn't intentional.
I’ll quote wikipedia here, because they said it better than I can:
In science a theory is a testable model of the manner of interaction of a set of natural phenomena, capable of predicting future occurrences or observations of the same kind, and capable of being tested through experiment or otherwise verified through empirical observation. For the scientist, "theory" is not in any way an antonym of "fact". For example, it is a fact that an apple dropped on earth has been observed to fall towards the center of the planet, and the theories commonly used to describe and explain this behavior are Newton's theory of universal gravitation (see also gravitation), and the general theory of relativity. …. In science, the word theory refers to a comprehensive explanation of an important feature of nature that is supported by many facts gathered over time. etc. etc.
There is so much bad information and ignorance out there, I just think it’s important to be exact about these things.
MICKEY MOUSE THEORY OF EVOLUTION
an interesting conversation with Mr. Cambell about evolution. I can see the development of Mickey Mouse from 1927 to the 1960 as " non threatening and easy to understand " but it's a bit of an odd example to support the science of evolution.
It was a great point when he said the supporters of creationism have 'evolved' their arguments with their defeats, from Intelligent design to now Academic freedom.
The problem with observing evolution is that it occurs incredibly slow on the macro scale to the naked eye. The smaller the organism, the faster the evolution process.
On the microscopic scale evolution is readily observable.
I think a great example is the evolution of the Flu virus, one of god's simplest life forms.
At this point, a human transmitted bird flu virus does not exist, but when this new virus is created, it will have evolved from a slight mutation of an existing flu virus.
And when it comes, it will be hard to deny that this is a new form of life which didn't exist before.
