Get Worse: PETA!

Coil,I am hardly "dissing" PETA as a whole, however can't you agree that instances like this one in particular makes it far easier for others to mock the group than not?

And I would venture to ask that "IF" those who raised havoc over the fly swatting episode are only fringe members, why didn't the organization higher ups come out and disassociate themselves from the comment? Perhaps it is because they actually support the notion? ...and if that is true, than these same "fly swatting" people are hardly fringe elements.

Whereas I see the group as doing good, I fear that they set their main issue of the "Ethical Treatment of Animals" years behind what it might be if they had more reasonable demands. Swatting a fly is hardly on par with killing & skinning dogs.

...but then again, that is merely my take....

We must give the organization the benefit of the doubt; surely the fly savers are a minority of the PETA membership.

Mention of PETA always brings up my memory of meeting a member at the coffee patio who had a Parrot on her arm, not a tattoo, a Military Macaw, who began yelling at me for "BREEDING" the Lovebird Chicks that were climbing on My Shoulder.

They are a Precious and Unique group of humans, those PETA fringe members.

PETA's fall from grace...I simply adore animals, creatures et al, however the idea that PETA (somewhat predictably) got incensed over Obama swatting a fly, is beyond idiotic.

IT is instances like these that make most of the country think this organization is nuts, and that is unfortunate as it diminishes their "good" issues on the treatment of animals.
