Schwarzenegger Tells The EPA To Shape Up

Governor Schwarzenegger's environmental adviser Terry Tamminen (author of the kick-ass book Lives Per Gallon ) stops by to break down the Governator's letters to EPA head Steve Johnson, threatening a lawsuit if the EPA does not release California (and a line of other states around the corner) from the Clean Air Act. Doesn't sound very environmental to you? Well, considering that climate change isn't currently being addressed under the current version of the Clean Air Act (we'll see what happens, now that we're post-Mass v. EPA), Schwarzenegger is here actually asking permission to address climate change. But it doesn't sound like he'll be merely asking for long. EcoTalk loves it. LISTEN (10 min)

Hey Betsy.

Just got in. I was down at a local lake trying to fish, and speaking of parasitic natures, Im sorry to report I was driven off by a swarm of spring time deer ticks. I havent seen anything like it, and especially not this early. It was mild all winter till the last of January and we had a strong ice storm but temperatures never dropped below 15 degrees, and for no more than a few days and thats the only cold we got. But ive never seen a tick swarm before. Sorry I didnt have a camera or Id send ya a snapshot. It was like a tick hive, all up and down the shore. Im all showered and got em all off me, thank goodness,found three in the drain. Baby ticks, Full grown ones. Deer and seed ticks. They were all over my tackle and backpack and probably used a good bit of my lighter burning the ones I found they were so abundent. This is just a hunch, but Im guessing this is only one of the beginning signs of stuff thats coming.
