While using "themselves" as a substitute for "himself" or "herself" is becoming more common (if not acceptable), I'd tread lightly here, especially as you're trying to criticize the younger generation. What is even funnier is that, for appearance's sake, Caribou Barbie was willing to welcome this cretin into her family when she had a shot at the house on the Naval Observatory grounds.
