VENTILATION FRIDAY - APRIL 4th, 2008
Ventilation Friday means you are the star of the show. Call Lionel to vent about anything you want. Fed up with Rev. Wright? Call Lionel. Fed up with Bill O’Reily? Call Lionel. Fed up with your noisy neighbor? Call Lionel. Fed up with Lionel? Call Lionel. That’s how ventilation Friday works.

MARTIN LUTHER KING
Civil rights spark, Martin Luther King was assassinated 40 years ago today. With a black candidate for President doing so well, it’s hard not to feel MLK’s legacy. Here’s how the candidate are marking the day.
It’s also the day Bobby Kennedy gave one of the greatest and bravest speeches in American history. Listen (and see photos of) Bobby Kennedy’s “By the Awful Grace of God” speech here. Or check out this website and film about Bobby Kennedy’s riot averting speech about MLK.
IN THE MÉLANGE
NY Times: America is broken. That’s not quite the headline, but 81% of Americans do think we are on the wrong track. Nice job Bush. What do you think is the one most important issue we have to fix in America today? Pick one!
Dermott is drooling with joy at this Elvis Costello news.
How dumb do you have to be to think that drinking bleach is healthy? How about to think that it will prevent HIV? Or that Mountain Dew is a contraceptive? Well, these kids do, and Florida is ready to act. Wow.
George Bush supporters are trying a new strategy. They say the war is over. And because it’s over, we can start the next one. Delusional? Maybe, but also a potentially effective political strategy.
Bush’s antics at his final NATO summit continue to prove just how much the world populations, if not the world leaders, have him, and are not too pleased with us as a country either. Australians are upset by a fake salute. Remember, in diplomatic circles, spirited is a euphemism for angry.
TO DISCUSS - ROOMATES
Should you be able to choose who you live with based on race or age? What about wealth, i.e. ability to pay rent? How about gender or sexual orientation? Well, roommates.com is being sued for some of that. Details here.
FROM THE ENDLESS CAMPAIGN
Barack Obama continues to wow the political world as a fundraising phenom. He doubled Hillary Clinton’s intake of funds, but the real impressive statistic is that over 1,250,000 people have donated. And his average donation last month was less than $100. No matter how you slice it, that’s the most democratic money operation in town.
There’s growing chatter of brokering a deal between the two Democrats, but is it possible?
And much much more …

Hello!
Hello!
Rev. Wright
I think it's time that most of White America admits the truth as to why Rev. Wright scares them.
The main reason is White America has quilt on their conscious. They know the things that their ancestors and current family members have done to African Americans. Think about it....Killing our leaders, dening the right to vote, slavery and ofcourse Oklahoma 1921. If I treated someone that bad and that horribly I would be terrified if that person was able to have power over me i.e Barack Obama. White America, you have nothing to worry about. African Americans don't want revenge we just want things to be fair and equal and accasionally vent.
Slander or Media cover-up: John McCain's POW Narrative
Search engines are bringing up stories that McCain was the prize "Songbird" guest in the Hanoi Hilton and not the abused heroic prisoner. Is this another smear or are the media outlets supine, again, for the pimps that control them and the narratives they broadcast?
