Clyburn On Health Care: "60 Is Not The Magic Number" (AUDIO)
Thursday October 29, 2009 2:02 p.m.
House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) says Democrats should not cater to the center-right in order to get 60 Senate votes for the health care reform bill. Clyburn told Air America's Jack Rice today that he favors the use of a parliamentary maneuver called reconciliation, which allows the bill to pass with a simple majority. He also said that those standing in the way of true reform should "take a good look at themselves" before voting against a bill that would provide health care to millions of Americans currently without it.
