On the eve of Halloween, the Christian right is telling Americans that Halloween is a satanic holiday in which demons pray on souls and witches curse candy. (As if we needed to be reminded.) One column along these lines, titled "The Danger of Celebrating Halloween," has gotten so much attention it was taken down, but a copy remains posted.
According to the author, Kimberly Daniels, "Most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches." Daniels also says that those who celebrate Halloween engage in "sex with demons, orgies between animals and humans," and baby sacrifice.
Clearly, this is preposterous. Most people don't wait for Halloween to engage in these timeless traditions. Jack Rice and his crew go through Daniels' column and have some fun with it.

@9 trollstein,
some of us still keep to the traditions of drug fueled pagan sex parties, with a little masked violence on the side. (If you can't hit your drunken friends with pugil sticks, who can you hit?)
Evil to those who think evil. This woman is ridiculous.
The pagan holiday from which Halloween ultimately derives (All Hallows Eve) was an orgy of group sex and in some instances, involving violence masked as partying. What we have today is Hallows Eve LIGHT, namely it has become a fun social gathering involving dressing up and binging on candy. That all said, the candy binge is pretty fuc*in evil.
Truth hurts. Telling the truth does not make the left look bad. Sissy so called "liberals" like you do. I'm irrelevent? Seems like people like you have no power, your party is in shambles and only 20% of voters consider themselves Republicans. That is irrelevent.
Huffliar the irrelevent. They have now let everyone back on. The MEDS, Huff....the MEDS. LMAO
Uh... Way to give the left a bad name, hufflarry2000.
Good grief.
Thanks for making hilarious mincemeat out of the dumbest story so far this Halloween (or Samhain pronounced Sow-WEEN, in the original Gaelic). My Wiccan/Pagan buddies and I get sorta numb every year hearing these uninformed pronouncements from 'Christian' media-hustlers. Could it just be that most Americans aren't taught to differentiate between spirituality and raw superstition? I mean, GEE, d'ya think? Thanks again, Jack---Blessed Be, now and always!

I'm a witch, I made a video about this article yesterday.
BEBE you are a far right extremist on the fringe of society but you are not a christian. It is impossible for evil people like you to be christian since the ways and teachings of Jesus are liberal. You few extremist nutcases can try to hijack the name christian but you will never be christian. You are much more like your fundamentalist, right wing muslim terrorist brothers.
When I lived in VA and WV, there were always protests by christian groups against Halloween. In VA, in the city where I lived, you couldn't trick or treat on weekends. If Halloween came on a saturday, like this year, the kids had to go out on Friday night
I'm part of the Christian Right and my family has celebrated Halloween my entire life. We consider it a harmless, fun-time event. Nothing wrong with it at all.
