Across the country Muslim Americans are reacting with grief and fear in the wake of yesterday's shootings at Fort Hood, which were committed by a Muslim American Army Major. Jack Rice had emotional conversations with two American Muslims, who condemned the attacks and expressed concerns that the shootings could renew the anti-Muslim sentiment that spread across the country in the wake of 9/11.

The links don't work? Weird. Well, here they are again.
If you want to watch US soldiers cheering themselves on as they gun down innocent, unarmed civilians, contrary to the claims of our newest resident rightwingnut, simply use this link:
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article17393.htm
Or, you can also google the phrase "us soldiers killing unarmed civilians" which will bring you plenty of results to chose from. Like this, as an example:
When two white cars drive through the street the soldiers not only shoot and kill those in the cars, they do so joyfully... In the background you can hear the soldiers shouting happily at each other. The soldiers shout "Yeah baby!" and "Yeah b**ch, get that f**ker up!", as they fire and reload, then continue firing onto the seemingly empty scene from what appears to be a rooftop that they are stationed on...Nearly a third way into the short video two white cars are seen driving down the street...The US soldiers continue firing, and recording the situation. One of the cars attempts to turn down a side road away from the street while the other crashes into the parked vehicle that the soldiers were originally firing into. Men quickly escape the vehicles and attempt to flee, only to be shot and killed by the soldiers...For the last few seconds of the video we over hear the soldiers bragging to each other about what they shot and who they shot at. The video zooms in on the dead bodies lying in the road while in the background one soldier exclaims 'Look dude, we f**ked those people all to sh** down there." "
I want to thank the wingnut for providing me another opportunity to prove to readers that he's not only a glaring hypocrite, but terribly misinformed.
#27Capt-how convenient that your links don't work...but it doesn't really matter. My cousin's SO...and his job is the worst conditions...he's amoung the baddest of the bad...if you know what I mean...which you probably don't. Some of the situations that he's been in would have you crying like a baby, but never...never has he or his comrades EVER bragged about taking out civilians. You simply don't know what you're writing about, and you're only making yourself look really ignorant with your continuous line of denial, deception and avoidance. He fights, so you can sit on your gluteus maximus, (which, no doubt, is quite prodigious), and write lies. Isn't America great? It's like 1993 all over again.

Last dumb first, first dumb second.
Last dumb:
" Never have I heard of any of our soldiers 'celebrate' collateral damage and the unfortunate results of war...:
-------------------
That you've not heard of it does not mean it doesn't exist.
In fact, you needn't hear it. You can just watch it.
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article17393.htm
irst dumb:
"only a severely disconnected liberal would equate the actions of our armed forces in combat to that of a terrorist attack against unarmed innocents..."
--------------------------------
Well, only a severely disconnected liberal...
and the loved ones of the recently-deceased unarmed innocents.

It all depends on what side of the bomb you're on.
But you're just dumb enough to not be able to see that.

According to Loftus and Aarons book "The Secret War Against the Jews" http://www.amazon.com/Secret-War-Against-Jews-Espionage/dp/03121 6480/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1257629232&sr=8-1 The Bush family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_family had a long extensive history of dealings with the Saudi royal family, including the patriarch Ibn Saud. It is submitted that as CIA director, G.H.W. Bush deliberately fed false data to Jimmy Carter to persuade the White House that the USA needed to sell more sophisticated armaments to the Arabs and in particular to the Saudis. The Bush family has done more to eviscerate the United States then any other family in American history. Prescott Sheldon Bush http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prescott_Bush , G.H.W.'s father and Bush-W's grandfather, aided an abetted the Nazi regime in violation of the U.S. Trading with the Enemies Act. Nonetheless, during the subsequent "Cold War" era, when the people of Germany were seen as victims of Stalin and Hitler (in that order) he was elected to the U.S. Senate in Connecticut. The spider-web of Bush disaster is too great to quantify, let alone list in this forum. However. getting back to the Saudi topic: When the breakup of the Turkish-Ottoman Empire commenced after WW1, several Arabian tribes were competing for power and prominence. Their various politics and religious doctrines varied significantly. One group was the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. These were more educated, moderate, sophisticated and less religious. They were initially supposed to become the rulers of what is now Saudi Arabia. The tribe led by Ibn Saud (first Saudi king) represented the outcropping of the fundamentalist Wahhabi movement, founded by religious patriarch Muhammad ibn 'Abd Al-Wahhab http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_ibn_Abd-al-Wahhab This group threw a sh*t commotion and basically threatened the Allied powers that if they did not get control of the Holy sites of Mekka and Medina, that there would never be a moment of peace. As it turned out, there never was a moment of peace anyway and the net result of this, one of the first major terrorist threats was that The Hussein family of Jordan, who were said to be blood descendants of Mohammed himself, were bumped over to Jordan, which territory, had ostensively and in significant part, already been promised to the Hebrews--in the same treaty documents which created Saudi Arabia and ended WW1. In the interim, much of the oil money the West has paid in virtual ransom has been funneled to promote the Wahhabi religious movement. The world is now dealing with the ramifications of those original bad decisions and to my understanding, one of the Bush grand-elders (perhaps on the Walker side) had a hand in that as well, vis a-vis Standard Oil of New Jersey .
#24- only a severely disconnected liberal would equate the actions of our armed forces in combat to that of a terrorist attack against unarmed innocents, soldiers or not. Never have I heard of any of our soldiers 'celebrate' collateral damage and the unfortunate results of war...in your terms, shouting 'hoorah'. But your twisted sense of reality truly is, "par for the course".
#21 drdunce
I wouldn't exactly phrase your being a glaring hypocrite as "a rub".
More accurate is "par for the course".
#19-from the Koran...Sura-47 Muhammed...
[47:4] If you encounter (in war) those who disbelieve, you may strike the necks. If you take them as captives you may set them free or ransom them, until the war ends. Had GOD willed, He could have granted you victory, without war. But He thus tests you by one another. As for those who get killed in the cause of GOD, He will never put their sacrifice to waste.
#16-Once you understand the nuances of the various forms of greetings in that part of the world, then you might gain some appreciation as to the intent. Kissing is their way of greeting...a form of a handshake, if you prefer. Bowing is an act of submission. And please tell this reader just what the Saudi King(s) instructed the Bush's to do while as POTUS and as CIA director. What I do is connect dots. Todays political environment necessitates that one looks WAY beyond what someone SAYS, and look deeper into what they DO. For instance, the connection between the Dems, the CRA and the GSE's I researched extensively prior to the election last year, and was "onto" the info LONG before Fox News ever broke the story. I emailed them the info but never got a reply, nor did they connect the dots satisfactorily before 11-4. The amount of corruption at the level of the federal government has never been greater then it is today. And the election only allowed those that brought this upon the American people time and a chance to be pardoned. BO is a one term president....after 2010, let the games begin.
#19- So therein lies the rub, eh Capt? A too-light-in-the-loafers libbie equating acts in war to acts of terrorism and treason. Please send your "deep" thoughts about this to the friends and families of Daniel Pearl, Nick Berg and Eugene Armstrong whose perpetrators were yelling Allah Akbhar as they beheaded those innocents. Do you think the terrorists were shouting the same thing on 9-11 as they flew the jets into the WTC towers? Perhaps it would be instructive and valuable to strap you to a chair and force you to watch the beheading videos. Hope it helps.
#13
So you prefer trying to talk sense to those incapable of grasping it.
Good for you.
Others prefer to provide them the ridicule and derision they rightly deserve.
They're no better or worse, oh great one.
Just less silly for playing the troll games...
#10
And of those who gun down or rain down bombs on unarmed citizens while shouting "hoo-rah!"?
Careful, you don't want to come off as the glaring hypocrite that you are...
#9
It might make a difference if anyone cared about impressing you.
But the preference is basically to point at you, and laugh.

The game of childish insults? How unbecoming...
"I saw Obama bow to the Saudi KingI saw Obama bow to the Saudi KingI saw Obama bow to the Saudi King"
Poor form I agree but at least he is not taking orders from the Saudi Kingdom, as Bush-W did and his father did. (even as CIA Director). Frankly, I think the bow was an instinctive nervous reaction to avoid kissing. Would you have preferred the traditional Bushie-face smootch?
This other stuff about Obama's father, 57 states, the police incident, where he grew up, I for one don't care and I moreover think that those who do care are interested in discrediting the president on issues which have no bearing to our real problems. If our real, collective problem was (is) that the economically powerful have become the economically all-powerful, (which I believe is at the core) then Obama would be our best available leader from the piss-poor selection of those pimps and whores made available to vote on. Obama makes mistakes. If we are lucky, he will realize it.
Jack, thanks for this perspective. I disagree with your second caller when she said that "america has an intrinsic system of hate" . It's true different groups have been targeted throughout our history, black people being the most notoriously abused group. But hate of Muslims is different as it entails a war with Islam, no matter what they say "war on terror" translates to war on Islamic fundamentalists and by extension all Muslims are suspect for being members of what we have been taught to believe is a very cruel religious society. It would be helpful for moderate, modern, muslims to speak up and condemn the actions of the fanatics. Give them the platform to do so and don't get the vapors when they bring up criticism of our US policies in the middle east.
By the way, when I think of an Iranian film, I think of Children of Heaven, a really sweet movie.
uffda- I saw Obama bow to the Saudi King. I know that Obama's father was muslim, and that he lived in Jakarta where he attended a school that had many muslim students. I don't know...maybe it's just me, but I'm of the opinion that NO president of the US should EVER bow to the Saudi King. It's interesting the spin that the WH made after his obvious jesture of subservience, but I don't listen to what he, or any of his minions SAY, I watch what they DO. I also find it very interesting that he would ask for our patience in the massacre at Ft. Hood until the facts are known, but didn't offer a police officer the same respect. So you tell me...why did Barack state that he was going to visit 57 States during the campaign?
I take this opportunity to voice my support for dr in that he has been trying to reason with certain other posters, who are mainly engaged in trash talk. dr, there is no reasoning with certain of these people. I may not necessarily agree with your various points either but there seem to be a few "inner party members" who have been enjoying special indulged (relaxed) rules of conduct.
@9 drhunt1
I am so sorry for characterizing your post as "useless drivel"....more accurately, I should have characterized it as "useless paranoid drivel". It appears you\'re of the mind that Obama is some sort of secret muslim sleeper agent. Such paranoid beliefs neutralize any pretense you had toward being a thoughtful, intelligent poster. Are you also a birther or deather? Please, don't bother answering, because I couldn't care less.
Here's the thing Dr. (and I agree with the point you just made and wonder why you directed your statement at myself--given I had not made any comments to the contrary) but the fear is that American Muslims are going to become wholesale victims of mob retribution. Should these terror attacks continue, (large or small) it is very likely that ordinary, innocent Americans who happen to identity as Muslims will begin to be beaten and possibly killed.
Here's the other thing: My real last name is old Hebrew. Believe it or not, after 9-11, people were asking me if I was a Muslim, because to their less adept ears, hey . . it sounded close enough. So I now invoke the famous words of Martin Niemoeller: "
“First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me.”
http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Holocaust/Niemoller quote.html
Trollstein- by definition, anyone who guns down unarmed innocents while shouting "allah akbhar" and is known to be of muslim faith, is, in my book, an Islamic terrorist...end of discussion.
uffda-useless drivel? Didn't Obama state during the campaign that he is visiting the 57 States? And aren't there 57 states in the OIS? Coincidence? And don't you find it the least bit hypocritical of Obama to state today that we shouldn't jump to any hasty conclusions until we know all the facts, when that's exactly what he did at a news conference in re: to the Cambridge policeman? I think so. Sorry...I'm not the least bit impressed.
A truly amazing comparison to have watches Dr. Phil on Larry King, side-by-side with Fox news coverage of this same story yesterday.
Dr. Phil: "Now now, lets not jump to conclusions that this was a terrorist act. It could have been the result of a mentally unstable mind." (phpr)
Hannity: "When are we going to learn about these Islamic terrorists?" (phpr+)
If I had more free time I would have done a youtube medley mixoff of the two shows.
Now, as far as the event: The guy was a psychiatrist for the ARMY??? Who was known to have been ragging against the USA and making statements sympathetic to suicide bombers? Who the the military recently PROMOTED to MAJOR??? Holy Shiite Batman . . . the inmates have seized control of the insane asylum.
Bronze Age myths are inherantly violent, mysogonistic, and primitive. It's time we called them out.
Looking at those 2 little girls being raised to believe that they are 2nd class citizens, that they must cover up lest they tempt a man and be raped (which they would deserve for being an "Eve") makes me ill. Any religion that believes that the Creater of the Universe demands silly hats and oppression of 50% of the human race is just plain dumb.
Islam is badly in need of a reform movement that Christianity and Judaism have already had. I have absolutely Zero respect for any religion that oppresses women, kills homosexuals, and acts like it's 1399. Let's get real and laugh at the stupidity of Islam the same way we do the stupidity of Catholicism.
@drhunt1
I guess you took a break from wearing your "thinking cap" to post useless drivel like voltar.
Aren't there 57 States in the Organization of Islamic States? Are those the ones Obama was referring to during the campaign?
Whine, post baseless garbage, whine, post baseless garbage, rinse and repeat......voltar's whole modus operandi explained in 11 words.
OK, so let me get this straight:
Instead of admitting the problems with Islam and working to change their religion, their major concern is anti-islamic bias???
It's really getting hard to understand these people.
Also, where's Congressman Ellison's statement? I know Godbama is a closet muslim and can't really comment against the action (else having a Jihad shoved up his butt), but could SOMEONE in the government condemn this nut without caring about political ramifications?
