Lamb Balls

RACHEL MADDOW: Welcome back to the Rachel Maddow show, where this next story makes my sheep friends very uncomfortable.
Alright, there is a former Republican Governor of Nevada; former Republican Senator, as well. His name is Paul Laxalt. l-a-x-a-l-t – I think how you say it is, if I’m wrong, I’m very sorry.
Laxalt is in the Washington Post today because every year for the past 28 years, he hosted a dinner at the Georgetown club in Washington, DC.
This year, the dinner ended up being newsworthy. Because there were lots republican bigwigs there; as always. Dick Cheney, for example was there. Ed Rollins who ran Huckabee’s White House campaign. This guy was there – Ted Stevens
TED STEVENS: The internet is not something you that you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's a series of tubes.
RACHEL MADDOW: Ted Stevens there, Cheney there, Ed Rollins, the former V.A. Secretary Jim Nicholson, the White House counsel is there – Fred Fielding, all at this Paul Laxalt dinner at the Georgetown club. And the dinner makes the Washington Post today because at the dinner, the White House counsel Fred Fielding. Choked.
He got something stuck in his throat while he was eating. He got a very public administration of the heimlich maneuver from a Mitt Romney campaign guy named Ron Kaufman, who ran up behind Fielding and heimliched him – then Ed Rollins the Huckabee campaign manager took over and he started heimliching him. Then Rollins pulled over a chair and jumped up on it to try to get a better angle for heimliching the White House counsel – and finally – after all this ...
Boink! The offending, choking thing, either pops out of the Fred Fielding’s mouth, or it pops down his gullet, one or the other. There are conflicting reports. But it’s good news. The White House Counsel, Fred Fielding – successfully heimliched... Not dead.
The reason this story is on this radio show today? Is because of what we’ve learned about this dinner – by virtue of the fact that Fred Fielding’s choking got it into the newspapers. This dinner? Paul Laxalt’s annual dinner at the Georgetown club?
Is all male. And all sheep balls.
SFX: SHEEP BAH
RACHEL MADDOW: The Washington Post today describes the dinner as an “all male annual lamb fry dinner at the Georgetown club” And it’s not just any lamb fry – this is the annual all-male Georgetown-club republican powerbrokers lamb testicle fry.
They get together every year and eat fried lamb balls together without women…hmmkay?

Obama is about to loose in
Obama is about to loose in indiana desite the state being close to Illinois... I think Hillary is finaly getting the to the point where she can make her point and in june, she will be the nominee, which is logical since she is the one who really can beat McCain...
Obama is too cool, too relaxed, too liberal to be our president, but he will remain a great politocal figure

You have got to be kidding yourself! It is sad that with all the clout she is suppose to have with her name, she cannot run a campaign for herself. She has most of the state delagates, her husband, her daughter, her mother, and the kitchen sink and still being unethical with dirty tactics. I PROMISE you that she will NOT win because MOST PEOPLE will not rally behind a disgraceful candidate like Mrs. Clinton and her Clans. I once supported her but decline to go any further AFTER she BLANTLY lied and REFUSE TO apology until SHE CAME UNDER FIRE at TWO debates. Her lies were exposed by the debate team and she beated around that lie until they FORCED her to speak the TRUTH. If someone who lies and know they are lying and REFUSE TO speak the TRUTH, they are a liar. She says she is a Christian but she DOES NOT exemply one. God said He hates a liar and they cannot tarry in His sight.

By kinesiology49April 28, 2008 - 4:56pmI happen to think that
I happen to think that Clinton will be btter as a candidate while Obama would the best president! But the polls in indiana are already bad for Obama 8 points lead for Clinton and it will again underline his political weakness with blue collar workers... So when Maddow suggests that Indiana doesn't mean a thing, she is really naive!
Clinton will snatch the nomination!

Hello Rachel,
I watch you quite a bit on Keith Olberman and other MSNBC talk shows. I look and I see how beautiful you are. Rachel, you may want to understand why would someone who doesn't know me care about my welfare, my life , etc.. Well because I pray and live for God. You might dismiss this email as another fanatic but you will be clearly wrong. Rachel, whether you have thought about this or not. One day you will face a TRUE and LIVING God that some has dismissed as NON-existing. Trust me, from many experiences in life from my birth, God has made Himself known to me. Please take the time to read Romans 1st chapter. When this life is over, which will be sooner than you think, you will face God. I pray that you don't pass this off as some type of irrational subject. It is a matter of life and life after life. Your soul will leave your body and it is a guarantee that it will go to ONLY one of two places. There will be NO holding place such as some say is purgatory. When a woman sleeps with another woman doing those things against the natural affection that God created her for, it is call abomination. That means you are defying God's creation. I admonish you Rachel to please find out if what I am saying is real. If you are honest in your heart to want to do the RIGHT thing, ask God. Eternity is a long time to spend someone where you will not recall the good times you have had ONLY the times you had to correct the wrong to right. People uses the terminology so losely 'heaven' , 'hell'. If they ONLY knew that it is a final destination that can be avoided if they accept Jesus in their lives and turn away from that that they feel is ALRIGHT as if God told them it was acceptable to Him. Even if your friends, mother, father, sister, brother, or whoever told you that it was acceptable to live a life of homosexuality, they DO NOT speak for God. There is a lifetime of a severe and serious price to pay for such a lifestyle. God will forgive you for all sins but blasphemy and suicide. If you change and mean to change, He will make things right for you. No matter what others do, that does not make it right with God. When we close our eyes to this life, we will have to deal with God who will not accept ANY excuses for living contrary to what He has written in the Bible. No, to some, it is NOT popular to go against the GOOD TIMES, SELF DESIRES, GO WHERE I WANT TO GO AND DO WHAT I WANT TO DO, THIS IS ME AND I HAVE A RIGHT! Well, we did not create ourselves. We have a MAKER we MUST answer to after the curtains have been drawn and closed on this life. Rachel, eternity has no end. You are a beautiful woman. Don't let it be said too late - 'when I could I didn't; now that I want to, I can't.' It will come up again. I am praying for your mind change.

Only in Leviticus is the word abomination used, and that is in reference to dude on dude sex only. Romans doesn't say what you think. The New Testament references, when translated literally from the Greek, refer to gay prostitution. Don't forget that your bible is a translation into English and is subject to that particular editor's version. While I respect your religious beliefs and prefer that someone like you has the attitude you have instead of being nasty or mean, there are other interpretations of biblical passages that go beyond a quick reading in an English translation.

I read your reply before you removed it, and with all due respect I don't think "that we don't keep other rituals, etc in Leviticus so why keep this one" is a good argument as most of those don't apply to gentiles anyway - many scholars and religions believe those laws were given to jews only and gentiles were given only the 7 noahide laws, so only the NT would apply to gentiles aside from the commandments. In any event after struggling and researching myself I am comfortable that my life is in accord with the bible.

By Half RepublicanMay 4, 2008 - 11:02pmLamb balls and religious fanatics?
They don't seems like they go together but I'm just a crazy baby dyke who doesn't believe in church or eating the reproductive organs of other animals.
How perfect that a macho asshole was nearly killed at a testosterone driven misogynistic republican romp by a testicle. How very nearly homo erotic!
I love this blog.

Without really consciously intending to do so, Cap'n Crusty, Chemgirl, and I have been acting for some time now as the self-appointed and wholly unofficial Welcome Wagon for TRMS blog.
When we see interesting new voices, perspectives, and personalities, we get happy. Please stay. I like reading your posts.

By essicMay 1, 2008 - 11:27amWhich is it? The loving god or the vengeful god?
I think this is why I gave up on the church. One minute they're telling me God loves everyone, then they come up with this crap that gays/blacks/immigrants/Muslims are not part of the chosen people for God to love and they must be destroyed. Huh?
Rachel, you're doing good here on earth and that's what matters. If there be a god out there, I'm sure she's thrilled with what you're doing.
Keep up the good fight.

Which church says that blacks and immigrants are not part of the chosen people? It is my understanding that the jews, who believe they are the chosen, believe that because they were the group that chose God, and that non-jews also have a place with God in the afterlife. Being part of the chosen does not meant that other people have no place with God. I never heard of such as harsh view as what you posted other than maybe what Nazis preached. Too bad such wacky interpretations lead people astray. Sure many organized religions believe being gay is a sin, but, so? To me that makes them wrong is all and won't affect my personal religious beliefs.
