John McCain's
I hear day in and day out that McCain has experience. Will someone please tell me what he has actually done that constitutes experience other than being in the service. What has he actually done in the Senate?

By kjgp25171July 17, 2008 - 7:05pmPolitics and 'The Grain o'f Salt'
This is how I see it....
The Business As Usual restaurant has a chef named Eddy. Eddy, like most of the patrons, belongs to the ‘Ole-Blue’ club. Eddy’s been a Chef for 30 years. He’s got a philosophy about cooking that he holds dear to his heart. Problem is – truth be told, most of his meals are at best, mediocre --it’s the salt. His patrons have been eating at his restaurant for years because it’s the most convenient and familiar place in town. The convenience and familiarity factor has always overwhelmed the fact that everyone knows that Eddy puts too much salt in every dish. “I’ve been doing this for 30 years, Eddy proclaims with pride. I’m the most experienced Chef in the town.”
A new restaurant just opened across the street. ..Joe-Bob, a long time patron of the Business As Usual restaurant has developed heart problems. His doctor has repeatedly told him that if he didn’t start eating meals with less salt, that he would die. Joe-Bob heard about the restaurant across the street. He also heard that their chef is a recent graduate from the University of Healthy Foods. “Hmmmm…” , Joe-Bob, ponders, “…if the chef at that restaurant across the street is a recent grad, doesn’t that make him a member of the ‘Green’ club?”.
One day, one of his fellow patrons, Billy-Bob, comes over to him and shows him a flyer from the new place. The patron has a smirk on his face….”Ain’t this a kick in the head, Joe-Bob?, can ya believe the gall of them folks across the street?”. While Joe-Bob examines the flyer, with its low-salt fare, Billy-Bob leans over to him and says, “You ain’t seriously considering eating over there, are you, Joe-Bob? I mean, how many meals has their chef fixed?.....besides, aren’t they part of the ‘Green’ club?....then he chuckles – if you do, don’t drink their Koolade!”
Eddy took sick one day, and was replaced by Freddy. Freddy, like Eddy, belonged to the ‘Ole-Blue’ club. “I’ve been doing this for 29 years, Freddy proclaims with pride. I’m the second-most experienced Chef in the town”. Joe-Bob orders an item that Freddy says is one of his specialties. The first thing he notices is that it contains too much salt. As he winces, he looks out the window and notices that there are a lot of young folks entering that new restaurant across the street…
I’d like to offer you the following notions – A) There’s an 8-letter word for doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results; B) Sometimes you need a chef with a better recipe if you want a better meal

By willjud2111July 18, 2008 - 11:16amBased on repoerts, Sen. Obama possiably using the "gym...`
as a meeting hall. Maybe he should use the ladies room, the mens room seems be overflowing with hippies and flippers, and I am not referencing Flipper the friendly Dolphin or the 60's flower power hip-hugger wearing sons of the DNC, I am thinking a roto-rooter guy is needed for this tough job or vetting the Veeps for Sen. Obama, before he plunges into history with out the presidential retirement plan.

By finnperkinsJuly 18, 2008 - 1:23amCarly Fiorina would make me smile and maybe even forget...
about my political heartbreak-down. She is very formidable and charismatic. she is only 2 centimeters right of the center and since Sen. Obama is already standing in the middle. Carly sure could hurt.. this would also apease my eyes as I look to the DNC and fake my self out that it's really Hillary only with a little less baggage.
Carly's ascension to the CEO level is very impressive and well planned. see her wiki site From a Kelly to girl to the Lady at HP's Chair. I think she should be the RNC candidate come to think of it... oh wll I have got to stop dreaming and fall to sleep... that's where the dream can be real at least before rem phase set in.

By finnperkinsJuly 18, 2008 - 1:36amReally? I don't find her
Really? I don't find her charismatic at all. She always has the plastic smile on and she recites talking points with rigidity. I've stopped watching interviews with he because she's so fake.

Yes, her rise to HP CEO is admirable.
And then she was unceremoniously *fired* for driving HP into the ground.

By Buxtehude_BarbarossaJuly 18, 2008 - 1:49pmSuds Dont Make it Clean
Fellow Bloggers,
I remember it well, that day….I was watching a commercial on TV, and the Ad stated, “Look at all the great Suds that this detergent makes!!!! I’m a Chemical Engineer, and my first thought was - What’s the correlation between ‘Suds’ and ‘Solvency’? Answer – there is none. However, the advertisers were counting on absence of rationale amongst Americans, so the ad campaign was very successful. Herein is the problem with American Politics and the Media. Too often, Americans are duped with ‘’Suface-Logic’…ideas that don’t make the litmus test, in terms of intellectual capital.
When I watch some the political commercials and commentaries, especially the one that asks questions such as , “Who would you like to answer the phone when it rings at 3AM” or “Who do you think is more presidential?“ My first thought is, isn’t this the same tune that’s been played the last decade, but with a new piano player – “Ode of Fear”?
My second thought is, Why aren’t we as Americans asking the question, “Why is the phone ringing in the first place?” I am not naieve, but I’ll go out on a limb, If we have true leadership in the White House, the likelihood of getting that 3AM phone call is greatly diminished….'
What you’re getting in these commercials and commentary is discussion about, well – Suds.
Keep in mind folks --- Suds don’t make it clean
Regards

By willjud2111July 18, 2008 - 11:37amNice.
I like today's parables, especially this one.
We can all imagine what would happen in a country whose laundry soap manufacturers started a "suds war." Massive property damage from overflowing machines, foaming creeks, white residue dried on all my black clothes, uncleaned laundry that had to be perfumed to give the impression of clean...
