Sunnis and Shiites Splitting Up

News:

Salim Rashid, 34, a Shiite resident in an overwhelmingly Sunni village 20 miles north of Baghdad was told by masked men to leave his house or he would be killed. So he did what most people would do, he left and traveled to Baghdad's heavily Shiite neighborhood, Shoula.  The expulsion of Shiites from Sunni towns has become a serious problem. Approximately 58 dislodged Shiite families have come to Shoula since late last week.

Only a fool would think that

Only a fool would think that Iraq can be held together by military force. Unfortunately that fool happens to be our President.

Well Sadam reigned with

Well Sadam reigned with brute force (military/secret police) and kept that country stable for decades. It has been said that Iraqis only know how to deal with power. I do hope this new found freedom helps them. Those purple finger newsbytes during elections were pretty good.

Bush

Bush is the "Ark Angel of Peace and Freedom" isn't he?

I am still kicking myself

I am still kicking myself for voting for him in 2K. Yes, he is utterly useless. If dems had cojones, which they do not, they’d impeach his ***. There is more than enough justification out there to do it.

IS YOUR TIME ZONE CONTROLLED BY THE OUTER LIMITS??
COJONES DOES NOT EQUATE A MAJORITY YOU TWIT!
WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? DO YOU READ OR LISTEN
TO THIS SITE?

Only in America do you see veterans sleeping under bridges and a deserter sleeping in the White House

Yet another example of faith

Yet another example of faith in the opposition, hoping for them to do something to stir up any majority. I guess it definitely won’t happen. Compounded by an all caps (oooh!) flame insulting me only backs up my idea that the democratic party offers no real plan or hope. Yes, I do read and listen. I’ll refrain from my caps lock key, because I remember reading some netiquette thing in 1996 saying that was rude. As for my time zone. I live about 30 miles from Washington, DC…you can call it the outer limits if you choose to do so.

I say cojones as in I hope dems stand up for what they we elected for—fight the status quo. The way things are going I see no strength in that party whatsoever. Mind you, I loathe the current administration immensely. I have been to DC enough to know, those guys sleeping on the streets are bums for the most part. As for a deserter sleeping in the white house, the elections are over. About time to get over that media circus. It’s 2006—nothing substantial has resulted from that in terms of inquiries or serious legislation against that goon in office.

Happy caps lock to you, sir/maam

Time zone

Still watching CBS? Looking for Dan Rather? Your eyes are closed tight, as there are veterans in many other countries far worse off than those who sleep under bridges here as you state. And if you really believe your comment about Pres. Bush being a deserter you should:

a) stop watching CBS news or MSNBC/NBC
b) understand what the definition of deserter is
c) provide more than one line for a statement
d) all of the above

If civil war does break out in Iraq, the U.S. is to blame.

"If you break it, you own it."

Prophetic words. This quote was attributed to then Secretary of State Colin Powell, advising President Bush in advance of the invasion of Iraq. In light of recent events, these words ring true. For now we see the likely beginning of an all-out civil war in Iraq.

While the recent events that have triggered internal conflict in Iraq were not the work of the United States, we still are culpable. We created the perfect atmosphere for this to occur. We invaded a sovereign nation, leading to it's rapid destabilization, killed innocent civilians by the thousands, and provided no security or restoration of infrastructure in the wake of our military operations. What did you expect to happen, Mr. President? Did you give any thought at all to the likely results of your decisions? You broke it, you bought it.

It's inconceivable that the country that I know and love would ever start a "pre-emptive war", and do it under false pretenses. As a result, how many thousands of U.S. troops and innocent Iraqis will die? If this isn't grounds for impeachment, what is? And if the Republicans don't have the "cojones" to bring forth articles of impeachment, then they are just as much guilty of treason as George W. Bush. Because in the end, a patriot will always put country before party.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful and committed citizens can change the world."

nice

Given the climate it is a very nice thing that these people are simply being asked to leave and not slaughtered.
