Multiple Car Bombs in Baghdad as Iraqi Cabinet Talks Begin

News:
As talks towards forming a new Iraqi cabinet began across Baghdad this morning, the country’s’ capital was rocked by 7 car bomb explosions that left at least 6 people dead and dozens wounded. Police reported the discovery of 20 more apparent victims of sectarian executions, and also said that at least 12 additional civilians had been killed across the country by roadside bombs, drive-by shootings, and mortar attacks. Politicians are cautiously optimistic about the renewed political talks, jumpstarted last week when Iraqi PM Ibrahim Al-Jaafari agreed to step aside as his party’s candidate.

Change in Iraq government

So Iraq has a government. Most people in the U.S. wouldn't know they did before the replacement of the Prime Minister.

Democracy has always begun from within.

drumheller

he's a former cia spy. was on 60 minutes last night. drumheller said it wasn't an intelligence failure. it was a bush failure.

It wasn't a Bush failure

It was Bush manipulation of the facts.....AKA a LIE

It doesn't connect to people in the US

Many Americans here don't realize that Iraq is in a civil (or uncivil) war.

TODAY: 7 car bomb explosions in Baghdad w/ at least 6 killed. Tommorow, more of the same.

If this was happening in NYC EVERY DAY people would be hysterical.

Question?

How many people in this country were killed or criticaly hurt yesterday at the hands of another, maybe 30, 40, 50, a thousand or so? Put that in the headlines on every paper in other countries would they think we were in a civil war? You people are thick.

compare

3 years in iraq. about 135,000 US troops. 2400 body bags.

120,000 car accident deaths in US over three years. but how many drivers: perhaps 200 million.

percentage wise, this would make iraq much more dangerous than US roads.

but, jpn, if you think it's not a civil war, then you should enlist. it would be a nice, safe vacation for you.

according to the lancet medical journal

iraqis are now much more likely to be killed by violence, especially air strikes.

After all...

our news media can't seem to get enough of one white, blond girl missing/murdered in a foreign country.

The media sucks.

I see ya had to say

I see ya had to say white.... ARE YOU A BLACK RACIST?

Dumbass....JPN, I mean....

Do you think if there were 7 car bombs a day going off in NYC or Dallas or LA, that it would be different??? They'd be calling it a civil war in the US. Fact is, the news media concentrates on bullshit. As far as me being a racist.....nice try. Oh, and I'm not black either.

Lets compare the body count

Lets compare the body count and not the means they were killed...... Murder is murder whether you use a Bomb, knife gun or just plain ripping life out of the womb.. What's the difference dead is dead at the hands of another..... The time it took me to write this a hundred or so babies were just killed.

Body count, hunh?

.........Over a million a year in the US from smoking, heart disease and cancers, which are mostly caused by the sale of tobacco and the pollution caused by industry (Hello, New Jersey, number one in toxic waste sites!!)

40 thousand in traffic accidents.

So, when the suicide bombers come here and start detonating in our malls and government buildings, you'll just say.....ah, no big deal.

"Liberalism is trust of the people tempered by prudence. Conservatism is distrust of the people tempered by fear."
William Gladstone, 4-time Prime Minister of Great Britain.

has bush's

supreme court stopped any abortions yet?

he said she was white.

she was white. that would be the truth. so it's not racist.

the proliferation of guns in

the proliferation of guns in the usa has indeed made parts of some cities resemble war zones...so iraqi violence means they just crave american style democracy i guess

repubs say it depends on the definition of civil war

KIRKUK, Iraq -- Hundreds of Shiite Muslim militiamen have deployed in recent weeks to this restive city -- widely considered the most likely flash point for an Iraqi civil war -- vowing to fight any attempt to shift control over Kirkuk to the Kurdish-governed north, according to U.S. commanders and diplomats, local police and politicians.
