Karl Rove has been called to testify this afternoon before the grand jury investigating the outing of Valerie Plame as an undercover CIA operative, marking his fifth appearance. This time around, the recently sort-of demoted Deputy Chief of Staff will have to address new evidence that his lawyers had inappropriate conversations with a reporter for Time magazine.

A judge ruled that, for the purpose of Fitzgerald's investigation, Valerie Plame WAS A COVERT OPERATIVE of the CIA. Her covert status was within FIVE YEARS. The CIA has admitted that they told Wilson the request was made AT THE BEHEST OF THE VICE PRESIDENT. Perhaps the CIA was lying to Wilson, but that is what they told him.
And BTW, Novak outed not only Plame, but an entire CIA Brass Plate operation (Brewster Jennings).

The only new issue in the CIA leak probe known to involve Rove is a contact his lawyer, Robert Luskin, had with Time magazine reporter Viveca Novak.
The contact is important because during it, the Time reporter told Luskin that Rove might have disclosed Plame's CIA status in 2003 to another Time reporter, Matt Cooper.
The Luskin-Novak conversation occurred many months before Rove belatedly revealed to the prosecutor that he had spoken with Cooper. Rove says he'd forgotten about his conversation with Cooper.
Rove's legal problems stem from the fact that it was more than a year into the CIA leak investigation before he revealed the Cooper conversation.

#1 Liberals are not the lockstepping sort. We have our own opinions and often disagree with one another, it is only the last 5 years of horrible government that have unified us like never before, though we are still far from lockstep.
#2 Liberals are the altimate champions of the freedom of speech, we are not thought police. On the contrary, we are the ones who oppose constitutional amendments banning flag burning, not because we agree with it but because we value the first amendment.
#3 Nazis were a radical right party. Liberals despise Nazis.

One of the con's bogus tactics is to argue about whether Shrub declassified the information in the NIE, therefore obviating Libby's possible leak. That isn't the charge against him. Libby's charged with perjury. 5 counts of it. Think maybe he flunked the loyalty test, and decided to throw Rove's corpulent body under the moving bus?
The real treat is going to be watching whether Bush's Brain decides to take the fall without Bush's Body. Wanna bet we "find" enriched uranium in Iran, Osama-Bin-Laden, another of Monica's dresses, the receipt for Vince Foster's murder by Hillary , and pictures of Ted Kennedy and John Kerry breaking into the oval office to steal files while Howard Dean is waiting in the getaway car on or about October 15th?

WASHINGTON (AP) — The simplest grammar, long thought to be one of the skills that separate man from beast, can be taught to a common songbird, new research suggests.
Starlings learned to differentiate between a regular birdsong "sentence" and one containing a clause or another sentence of warbling, according to a study in Thursday's journal Nature. It took University of California at San Diego psychology researcher Tim Gentner a month and about 15,000 training attempts, with food as a reward, to get the birds to recognize the most basic of grammar in their own bird language.
Yet what they learned may shake up the field of linguistics.
