Teams and Mascots
Coming from Cleveland, I've always had the struggle of wanting to support my local team, but wanting to respect the experiences of the Native American community. So I resolved to never wear the racist Chief Wahoo emblem. I wear the Sunday/Holiday Home Jersey that has a nicely scripted "I' in replace of the racist image. And when the issue ever comes up at home, I end up making a lot of enemies when I say that I would like the racist image to be removed from the caps and association with the team.
Being that the Indians name was chosen to honor Alex Sockalexis, a Native American team member who had died around the time when the "Spiders" name was being changed. I'm wondering what you and Gia'na and David feel about the name "Indians" for Cleveland's team.
Love your show so much I stay up later than I should to listen to it.
Peace.
