I'm kind of glad to hear

I'm kind of glad to hear about the Afghani farmers. Iran used to be a great place to grow opium, until its own people decided opium was fine and fun. Now that they have an addiction problem, they don't look kindly upon poppy growers. Afghanistan might not care about the rest of the world getting hooked, as long as they can sell the crap, but if it hits them in their all-too slim pocketbooks, they are re-thinking that strategy.
