Program content is controlled by media execs that are more interested in ratings and sponsors.

Many years ago, the news departments were some what independent but that changed.

Now news programs are just like other entertainment programs that must make a profit and not offend powerful interest.

There was never any real liberal media because most papers and news networks are in the hands of conservative owners that control content.

On that Rather story the you point out....he was fired because he couldn't provide absolute proof.

Seems like the goverment should be able to account for someone on their payroll and the burden should be on the military to account for why they paid Bush when he was in the national guard.

Was any anchor fired for promoting that silly story about Kerry stealing his military medals. Did any news anchor ask the question if Kerry could still his medals...should we be asking the same of every military veteran.

Wake up son...the media was alway consevative because it is profit based and not civic minded.
