ECONOMISTS, HILLARY’S TROUBLE, and TALK RADIO
Reformed economic hit man, John
Perkins, has a wonderful new book out. The
Secret History of the American Empire: The Truth About Economic Hit Men,
Jackals, and How to Change the World, like Perkins’ first book Confessions
of an Economic Hit Man, reveals how US government policy wreaks havoc on
foreign economies under the banners of fighting poverty, economic development an
other benevolent causes when the real aim is to support US businesses.
On the impact of talk radio, the Obama campaign doesn’t get it. They’re

FROM THE ENDLESS CAMPAIGN
Pundits are declaring the democratic race over. But Hillary is proving she's no quitter. She continues to demonstrate just how scrappy, tenacious and determined she is by defying yet another seemingly insurmountable obstacle – the media.
Another media trend in
campaign coverage is the statistical
obsession with demographics. The Democratic vote has
been divided by race, age, education and gender? Is this new, or just new
data? Is this dangerous, or just filler for the 24/7 news cycle?

Hillary's prospects
shiboleth2 I think she will finish out the primaries because quitting before they are over is like quitting a game before it is over. If she is as smart as I think she is she will concentrate on trying to prove she would be best against McCain by attacking him constantly and consistently. It probably won't work, but it is a worthy endeavor in its own right and will earn her some credit with the party pros. I then agree with the listener who said she would return to the Senate and work on legislation while doing some campaigning for Obama in New York. When Obama returns to the Senate she could be way ahead of him in terms of power and influence.
Here is an interesting mind game. How many of Barak's endorsers would actually be better off if he lost. Prime example of this is Richardson. Then McCaskle, who may well have her own ambitions to be the first woman to serve as President. Do you see where I'm going here?
Hillary of course would be much better off if Obama loses. Not only will that put up this big "I told you so" balloon where everyone can see it (but no one will mention it.) It will eliminate Obama as a candidate.
