American Afternoon with Ron Reagan – Tuesday, May 13th 2008

By

Ron Reagan is back for his 2nd day in the guest host chair.  Today is another big day for the Dems as the West Virginia primary is happening.  Ron will open up the phones today for your comments on the primary as well as asking a couple guests what they think.

Joining Ron in HOUR ONE will be Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY).  Slaughter is currently representing New York's 28th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives, and serving as chair of the powerful House Rules Committee. The 28th district is based in Rochester and Buffalo and includes parts of Erie, Monroe, Niagara and Orleans Counties.  Despite representing a historically Republican area, Slaughter is one of the most liberal members of the New York congressional delegation from upstate New York. She is one of several Democratic congressmen and senators who post at Daily Kos, a Democratic-oriented blog.  Louise is a Hillary Clinton backer but recently came out and said that Hillary’s chances of winning the Democratic nod is “pretty slim”.  Ron and Congresswoman Slaughter will be talking about the candidates and today’s primary.

Joining Ron is HOUR TWO will be John Dean.  Dean was White House Counsel to U.S. President Richard Nixon from July 1970 until April 1973. As White House Counsel, he became deeply involved in events leading up to the Watergate burglaries and the subsequent Watergate scandal cover up, even referred to as "master manipulator of the cover up" by the FBI. Dean is currently an author, columnist, and commentator on contemporary politics, strongly critical of conservatism and Republican Party, and a registered independent supporting impeachment of President Bush.  Dean is the author of “Conservatives w/o Conscience”, “Worse Than Watergate”, “Broken Government: How Republican Rule Destroyed the Legislative, Executive and Judicial Branches” and his latest book called “Pure Goldwater”.

Racism

Why is it only white people who are accused of being racist? When Obama won all the southern states by a huge black vote were they accused of being racist and ignorant.
