A757 Hit the Pentagon - Hani Hanjour could not have piloted it.

I am very disappointed in Dr. Griffith's treatment of the Pentagon evidence. There was physical evidence of a 757 hitting the building.

The hole was fully consistent with a 757 hitting the Pentagon on a horizontal trajectory. The space between the entry wall and the exit wall was virtually empty. The three outer rings are contiguous on the first floor - as can be seen by examining any aerial photograph and counting the floors by counting the windows. It is also discussed the FEMA report on the Pentagon.

A tube of aluminum traveling at ~540 mph could easily have punctured the wall and produce the damage observed. A tornado will drive a piece of straw deep into a telephone pole. The wings were shattered because they had far less momentum behind them, and did not have the structural stability of a cylinder.

Most of the mass of the engines was concentrated in the shafts and would have punctured the wall leaving a relatively small hole. The cowling would have easily deformed and/or shattered. There were identifiable engine parts and there were landing gear parts found in the building.

DRG is correct in saying that Hanjour was not a good pilot. My understand is he was/is a nice and decent man, but a lousy pilot. His lack of skill as a pilot is very well attested to, There is absolutely not evidence that he ever flew a plane remotely similar to the one he allegedly barnstormed the Pentagon with. The final maneuver was of such exacting precision that it would have defied the skills of most experienced fighter pilots.

There is certainly some problem with the flight data recovered from the black box of AA77. It is evident that at least the final 2 seconds of data are missing from the record because the time stamps are there and the data is not.

It is possible that there were explosives planted in the Pentagon. I base that on the various witness accounts and the stopped clocks. One woman interviewed shortly after the events said she heard explosions.
