Barry Goldwater was one of the most quoted yet consistently misunderstood politicians in American history. Today, his son Barry Goldwater, Jr. joins Lionel to discuss his new book, Pure Goldwater, a treasure trove of his father’s private insights and personal journal entries. Note: journals are much like primitive “blogs”.
At 11 A.M., Federal Reserve Bank expert and all-around $$$-head Doug Roberts will join Lionel to discuss conspiracy theories surrounding our nation’s economic institutions.
FROM THE ENDLESS CAMPAIGN
Edwards endorses Obama, giving rise to speculation that he’ll be picked as Barack’s VP. Bill Clinton continues to endorse Hillary.
Mrs. Clinton keeps her chin decidedly up, desperately searching for meaning in her meaningless victory in West Virginia. Oh, we’re just joshing ya, Hillary – you go, girl!
News from the broader campaign to dethrone Congressional Republicans: the GOP got STOMPED in Mississippi, and now they’ve done wet themselves with fear. If a heavily Republican district in Mississippi can flip to the Dems, it seems that the GOP has a lot to be scared about. Squeal. Squeal like a pig for me.
IN THE MÉLANGE
George W. Bush is a huge fan of the Austin Powers films, and apparently does a mean impression of Dr. Evil. One's a megalomaniacal jackass; the other appeared in the Austin Powers films.
Dermott and Doobie love a good “Church ‘N State” debate…GO STATES!!! Lionel's home state of Florida may be on the verge of marrying religion and government. It looks like a shotgun wedding to us. Always wear a condom.
And much, much more …

On Olbermann
I am a fan of Lionel. Although I only started listening to him since he joined Air America, I find his show entertaining to no end. Having said that, Lionel has a way of taking an opinion and ramming it down my throat which I find a little irritating. On the Olbermann argument, I could NOT disagree w/ Lionel’s position more...
Keith was speaking on behalf of the dead - over 4000 - and the families left behind, thanks to this war. If it is inappropriate to get emotional, even to the point that Olbermann did, over the needless death of 4000 of our best and brightest, then when is it?
That’s all I had to say.
