1. First off, I think that the Dems are reticent to fight both the immunity and FISA issues because they themselves were aware of many (if not all) of the programs when they were going on. PLUS I think that IF we begin to investigate these issues, we might just find that many of the Democrats are guilty of giving over our 4th Amendment rights to the Bush folks. I believe them to be just as culpable as the Republicans on this, which just may be the main reason WHY you don't find them fighting for US on this one.

2. I don't think they are enjoying it as much as frightened of revealing too much about their own participation in many of the active programs.

3. Why would the Democratic leadership suddenly decide to show some cojones in this matter when they have already proven themselves over and over again to be scared little children valuing their own careers over the good of their constituents?

P.S.
Whereas I have left the Dem party this last year due to their collective ball-less behavior, I have been (and remain one in my heart) a staunch Democrat since I cast my very first vote. I simply cannot look to Party over our Constitution, political expediency over the nation's best interest or obfuscation over what is right for we, the people.
