Wesley Clark vs John McCain day II. What does qualify someone to be commander and chief? Kuby has some ideas on that one.
Meanwhile, Obama is distancing himself from Wesley Clark’s comments and focusing on patriotism and service. So we decided to take a look at Obama’s plan for national service. It is quite detailed and specific – so all of you Obama critics out there who say he’s all generalities, have a listen to these details. Former Senator Harris Wofford will explain it all to us.
Then we’ll take a look at the rumors spreading about Obama in
The question for the day is: what is patriotism? How do you express patriotism? Does it require sacrifice? Is a flag lapel pin a requirement? Why?

McCain's Vietnam service re CIC qualification
1) McCain never set foot in Vietnam. He was on an aircraft carrier, far cushier than a foxhole.
2) McCain was not a fighter pilot. He flew an A4 Skyhawk attack bomber.
3) Schieffer fed the "shot down" line to Clark. Clark simply repeated it in his answer.
4) If flying a fighter and getting shot down qualified one to run for president, then Randall "Duke" Cunningham should be running. He was a superb fighter pilot and an ace with more than five kills, but I don't think anyone would say that he would be a good President of the United States.
I think these clarifications are needed to return a little sanity to the discussion.
