Today on Lionel - Wednesday July 2nd.
How about that show yesterday? Was it as good for you as it was for me?
In the second hour, Lionel will be joined by Lynn Spencer, author of Touching History: The Untold Story of the Drama that Unfolded in the Skies Over America on 9/11. The book is a beautifully written minute-by-minute account of the day that changed everything. Not content to swallow and regurgitate the same old simplistic accounts, Lynn Spencer used her insight as a commercial pilot to craft a narrative that is gripping, insightful, and highly emotional. And let’s not forget: Lionel’s got some questions about that there official account, questions which he will no doubt ponder with Lynn Spencer’s studious assistance.
FROM THE ENDLESS CAMPAIGN
Our friends at The Nation have written a fabulous primer on the religious pitfalls facing Senator Barack Obama in the general election. Initially “accused” of being a Muslim, Mr. Obama is now trying to justify his support of faith-based initiatives to a traditionally Godless left-wing. Talk about a flip-flop! Obama has gone from amateur jihadist to Bible-beating right winger in a matter of months! Make up your mind and submit to one over-simplified characterization, would you?!?
I’m joking of course, but you can no longer deny Obama’s subtle shuffle to the center. Still think we’re nuts?
I take solace in this shift. It relieves me. If Obama is moving to the right, that means he’s a true politician and knows how to play the game. Some would even suggest that there is nothing particularly “new” about him, but that’s ok: I’ll settle for an old-style politician who can win. Even his fund-raising does not necessarily represent a groundswell of grassroots support; the names on those checks are familiar to the Democratic Machine. But so what?!? Get the money, win the election, bend over backwards to convince us you’re an American Superhero…then we’ll talk about changing the world.
IN THE MELANGE
There’s something to be said for partial credit.
The world is marching towards happiness, and we’re not leading the pack.
“I don’t know…it was really great at first. I mean, I really thought I loved him, but now I just…I just feel hollow inside. Married life is so hard”.

So now liberals love Clinton, again.
Make up your damn minds!
