Top 10 Things You Didn't Know About Michele Bachmann

It took an unfortunate incident in the park a few years back for me to realize that my dog wasn't neutered. After the dust settled, I realized that there are always things that elude detection in life. Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is no exception. Here are ten things you might not know about her.
10) When a Republican lawmaker called her "Captain Crazy," he was reading directly from one of her business cards.
9) She hasn't blinked since 1987.
8) Bachmann hasn't been the same since she kissed George W. Bush on the lips. We suspect an incurable strain of Mono...theism was transmitted that day.
7) The only reason she won reelection: her opponents' name was Elwyn Tinklenberg, which confused too many Minnesota voters.
6) She is the second scariest politician elected by the people of Minnesota.
5) The real reason she opposes the census is her undocumented immigrant status.
4) She used to babysit Fox News host Gretchen Carlson, and occasionally still babysits Glenn Beck.
3) Her inspiration for becoming an attorney was Orly Taitz.
2) In addition to wanting to investigate how many members of Congress are "un-American," she wants to investigate how many members listen to Lady Gaga.
1) The real reason her chief of staff quit: a job offer at the Chipotle fastfood chain.

Well then, you are not reading with open ears. Our Hunt makes a job out of ad hominem attacks while consistently making false accusations about others all of the time.
It is quite despicable, but then again that would require you to read objectively.

Rules 7 and 11 from the Obama bible, Rules for Radicals.
11 = Pick the target, freeze it, polarize it, personalize it (so long as destroying that target will enable you to meet your ends, and don't concern yourself if it's a legitimate target, every target that can help you meet your ends is a legitimate target)
then
7 = Ridicule is our most potent weapon - especially if it is baseless, then you can hope to provoke the target, which will always be in your favor.
Seems like a harsh way to live and act to me.
As a Minnesotan... I can say that Jesse was in no way scarier than this crazy _____! He may have had a big mouth but he wasn't full of crazy voices talking to him.
Hey nilbud , glad you're focusing on getting thrown out - seen the polls? You morons aren't even gonna be in long enough to maintain a two party system.
This article is a gutter article - ergo , it is posted on the appropriate site.
A) Garbage list, one of the most boring things ever, really really weak and poor in every regard. Give it up, never do one again you have no talent for it.
B) What's with the republican mouth breathing idiots in the comments. You idiots were thrown out in a landslide victory, everyone hates your policies and your guts. In 2010 you will be wiped out completely and will never return to power for at least a decade. All the stupid in the world will not get republicans back in the whitehouse and only the truly dumb ie republicans could possibly believe otherwise.

That's the neat thing about words on a page: you don't hear them; you read them.
And clearly you haven't been here reading long enough.

Yup. There's nothing that scares Regressives more than a Progressive with a spine.

Shedd needs to shed their stereotypical blame game and FOX type propaganda. Facts are these insurance companies steal from Medicare, like CIGNA's fraud of Medicare to the tune of 300MILLION, these are facts. Liberals acknowledge the facts that millions of American's die needlessly, soley due to this Corp greed, these are also known and verifiable facts. A larger group of Americans now see the out right greed and the sell out mentality of our own Congress persons and those Corp.'s that financially would take this country down if they could because they only love the almighty dollar and so does peopl;e like Bachman. We the people want this to stop and people like Lieberman and Bachman are only two examples of the insult to the true humanity that exists in the real American people. Those who elected her are equally to blame for the mess we are in. Bachman is an embarrassment to the people in this country.
Bringing a mob crowd to the steps of Congress to threaten our President is shameful, as were the signs of Obama with Hitler face etc. Shame on these people! Those small fanatics in the GOP, are the very face of Corp greeds minions who direct the ignorance in some and use it to their own advantage and their idea of throwing the American people to the wolves must be stopped or at least some light must be SHED on this stupidity. I honestly can't tell if these Republican people really assume Dem's are dumb bleeding hearts or if their own bible babbla has warped their minds towards humanity. No one should suffer with no health care and these Corp. giants who take BILLIONS in tax dollars and still rip off the people need to be taken out of business. We as a people must return to our humanity and, yes even help those who can't help themselves, because they are AMERICAN'S! We can't allow a small, ( an getting smaller daily) group of fanatics under the lie of "I'm not paying a poor mans bills because he's a dead beat and his poverty is his own fault"..THAT thinking is wrong. That thinking is un American and anti-humanity, and it's pro-greed..Bachman is part of the ignorance and the shame trying to direct the few minions to the slaughter and they can't even see it. Shame on her and shame on those who elected this ding bat to office and follow her..
It was so touching to see O'Reilly hitting on her (liberals hate you because you're so beautiful!), and her batting her eyelashes at him, in agreement of her own ravishing good looks. I gather that one could get her to sign anything, by appealing to her vanity.
There's a dullness in her eyes that says "I have an IQ in the lower 80s."

Apparently locrylics has been asleep during some of Bachmann's antics. Although it does appear that enough people slit their wrists to stop healthcare reform, as she had asked. Gee, I wonder what locrylics and the repubs would have said if Obama had asked healthcare reform supporters to slit their wrists to help pass reform?

drhunt1 and Shedd, in regards to fubush2 and uffdaguy, here's the reality:
I have not heard you call these people a single name and yet they come at you with insult after insult with no proof to back up their claims. When you ask for proof, you get attacked. That is what radicals do. They attack the messenger, not the message
Bachmann is obviously an ill informed, illogical, and bigoted product of a right wing, ultra conservative upbringing. Being schooled in such a narrow minded environment, she has carried the torch for dysfunctional living and thinking into the lives of all her constituents, to the detriment of political discourse nation wide. Living a life of hypocrisy, Michelle Bachmann continues to flaunt her peculiar brand of insanity in the face of truth and rational thinking. In the end she has elevated herself to the level of "political agitator" rather than her prescribed role as protector of the constitution and voice of her constituency. As a failed citizen and leader, she has no equal in the congress.
re: the title (and entire premise of) this article---i know she's just another psychotic, america-and americans-hating, change and progress blocking republican hypocrite nutbag who couldnt possibly be re-elected by an informed electorate----what else do i really need to know about her?
And the number one scariest politician elected in Minnesota is........Al Franken! (referring to #6 in Ken's list...)
And, how many new, registered voters did ACORN sign up????? How many of those new, registered voters are Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, etc., etc...........?

Shedd still can't get the opinion piece of his favorite homophobe to work. But the key part of his posted link is this:
"PersonaBlog"
Shedd is so cute. He always comes on here and in a very verbose manner, that I'm sure impresses most dittoheads, proclaims that liberals on this board post only opinions while his posts are "factual". Then he posts a personal blog.

Oh, and by the way, I wrote it myself - nobody did it for me.
#30 Capt-I already signed up at the kos...and got kicked off quite quickly because of contrarian views...not because of profanity, belligerance, abusiveness, etc...just because I called out one of their writers as being a hack...which he is. Huffington screens all posts, and some of the best pieces I've written, never made it on their site...probably because the facts therein were too incredibly damning to their agenda. Feel free to exercise your abilities to 'slap me around here', although up to now, your efforts have been miserably weak, and quite the contrary is occuring.

"Just like a typical leftist, when confronted with facts against which he can't argue, he parrots the same statements over and over again, thinking that it'll make those pesky facts go away. "
And yet what I said is absolutely true. Conservatives of the previous generations fought rights for minorities but deplored the slavery of the previous conservatives. The young conservatives of today are less and less vehement about being antigay except when in the company of their elders. Somehow we have managed to bring gay rights to a tipping point legislatively in many states. You couldn't have done that 20 years ago.
This is progress. In 20 more years gay marriage will be accept across this nation. And conservatives of tomorrow will drop it. An they will enjoy their national health insurance too. But they will find some other issue to drag their heels over and impede progress.
@ 33. Captain John Schenck
Both he and trollstien [chuckle] write these long diatribes that I'm sure they actually believe are definitive. After all, a long winded sermon filled with vocabulary that would impress any dittohead must be unquestionable.
The other similarity is the inclusion of "sources". Shedd always has on hand his homophobic authors that he actually believes are the final word on the gay lifestyle. And trollstien ignores the subject at hand, the breaking of the ceasefire by Israel leading to the death of over a thousand trapped civilians, and gives a history lesson of the region that he believes justifies the mass murder.
Oh these silly people. They have managed to wow themselves.
#32
Your theory falls flat when it comes to the "different result".
Everyone expects, when you're presented with realities that conflict with your desires of continued discrimination by homophobic bigots against their fellow Americans, the same result:
Another gay-hating skeetcheeks diatribe.
That's why we've become so used to just scrolling them...
Good ol' fubush2, just as predictable, unimaginative, and willfully clueless as ever. Just like a typical leftist, when confronted with facts against which he can't argue, he parrots the same statements over and over again, thinking that it'll make those pesky facts go away. Yet isn't that a trait of insanity - saying the same things over and over again, thinking you'll achieve a different result?
To some degree, though, I can't blame you in using this tactic. After all, it's been very successful to date in duping large numbers of people into falsely believing there's nothing wrong with same-sex behavior and that it should, therefore, be given the benefit of marriage.
But that's because of several reasons. Among them are a very left-wing academia that's become politicized, especially in the humanities, to the point where it actively discourages any alternative points of view, especially those that dare question the dogma concerning same-sex behavior; a very biased media that favorably depicts same-sex behavior and is intolerant of anyone, who dares challenge this view; those who rightfully oppose efforts to normalize this very unhealthy behavior and to codify it in "marriage;" and the public. These latter two groups have been slow to react and have, therefore, lost much ground to the dishonest propaganda of those who want same-sex "marriage." Indeed, to paraphrase the venerable Mark Twain, "...a lie makes it half way 'round the world before the truth gets it's boots on..." Hopefully, though, the truth concerning the consequences of same-sex behavior can catch the lies supporting same-sex "marriage" before they make it 'round the other half!

When will Regressives accept that the First has nothing to do with their flatulations on privately operated web forums?
I'll guess never.
"Air America is at least decent enough to allow for contrarian views, the DailyKos and Huffington aren't...they don't want ANY facts to distort their story and liberal outlook. They stomp on the first amendment, yet hide behind it as well...it's selective and completely biased. They can't handle the truth, nor can they handle my incredible wit, humor, and intelligence. They fear me."
As a long-time user at DailyKos, I can assure you that you know not of what you type.
DailyKos is nothing but contrary views. It's just that we don't take kindly to the reality-challenged.
That said: I'm sure if you signed up for an account there, users would gladly oblige in beating you worse than you get slapped around here.
Lemme know when you're heading over, and I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you.
I wanna be the first to offer you my favorite recipe...
I'll say it now. Gay marriage will be accepted in 20 years.
The only way the conservative minority will stop it will be if they take up arms to try and impose their religious beliefs on the rest of us.
So all you conservatives out there, join the birthers, tea bagers and that separatist governor of Texas for a revolution if you really hope to stop progress.
Oh wait. you're all a bunch of chicken hawks. Maybe you can pay blackwater to fight for you.
Remember when W was running around screaming about mushroom clouds?
People like shedd had no problem spending money then. Conservatives do not like national health insurance because they only approve of programs that get people killed. National health insurance is quite the opposite.
The REAL moral majority will see national healthcare a reality.
Oh, and remember shedd's little diatribe on conservatives being the majority? Notice he disappeared after the election?
The only reason the democrats may lose some power in the near future is their failure to bring the Bush Crime Family to justice. That failure has soured the stomach of many people who respect the constitution and expected justice. Conservatives are a dying breed.
26. Shedd
Verbose as usual troll stien; I mean troll shedd.
Same old shedd. Just a babbling brook of bull$hit.
Like I said, conservatives oppose all change, and the change comes anyway, and conservatives of one generation cannot agree with conservatives of the past.
Twenty years ago we would not be able to consider getting gay marriage to be an issue on a ballot or talked about by politicians.
Now the support is growing so that the votes are ever so close.
Any set back now is not really a set back. In the next 20 years gay marriage will be a reality and conservatives of tomorrow, while dragging their feat on some issue, will look back to people like sheddstien here and not agree with them.
Basically conservatives are just afraid of change. But the change happens. They adapt. They are just scared.
3 of 3
The majority knows this and has becomemore conservative, in response. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 40% call themselves conservative; about 40% consider themselves moderate/independent; and a paltry 20% consider themselves liberal. This increase in conservatives and decrease in liberals happened after Obama's election. Together with the last Tuesday's election, these statistics show that Americans are giving Obama and the left a resounding thumbs down, as they most definitely should.

The left wasn't always this way though. There was a time when more left-leaning policies made sense because (unlike now) they had facts to back them up. One was labor unions, because companies were exploiting workers, and a safety net to help people get back on their feet, because there were no jobs. Others were social security, civil rights for women and people of color, the push to make our products safer and cleaner running; and environmental awareness leading to the preservation of open space for future generations.
But these were all helpful ideas because the left of then was not the left of today. In those days, many left-leaning ideals worked because they had facts to back them and mostly honest people with a good work ethic to support them - people with integrity, who took responsibility for their actions.
The left of today has little to none of these qualities. Instead, it's become an unaccountable and rather childish group of people, who never really grew up. They are since they blame everyone else for their problems, instead of themselves -; expect others to take care of them (the government); engage in childish name calling and smearing against anyone who disagrees with them, even if their opponents have good reasons for doing so (which they most frequently do); and deny facts - even if they're overwhelming (as they almost always are), proving the left to be wrong.
Cont'd....
1 of 3
The left loves to make up great sounding sounding names to describe itself, even though these names mean the exact opposite or hide an ugly truth. For instance, the left uses "reproductive choice," to describe killing an innocent human being - the unborn; "universal health care" to describe what will be a health insurance monopoly run by inefficient, bloated, and unresponsive government bureaucracy, which will drain $500,000,000 from Medicare, raise taxes (eventually for all of us) to the tune of $800,000,000, cost a minimum of $1.2 trillion, and raise the federal deficit even higher than now (currently, under the feckless Obama, it's 10% of the GDP; under Bush, just one year ago, it was 2% of the GDP, even with the corporate bailouts). All the while this massive waste will still leave about 10,000,000 uninsured and lead to rationing, since it's the only way a government option can limit costs, as proven by Canada and Britain. Then there's "marriage equality" to describe same-sex "marriage," which will help encourage a very unhealthy behavior - same-sex behavior - and "relationships" that are far more volatile and likely to divorce, thus damaging the institution of marriage even more than now (1). Finally, there's the term "progressive," which leftists use to describe themselves, despite the trail of social, cultural, and economic wreckage they've left behind wherever they've gone, precisely because their views aren't "progressive" - they're regressive.
Cont'd...
Also have you noticed that suddenly the conservatives are "no fan of Bush".
Yeah right. Over the last 8 years they defended his lies left and right.
MUSHROOM CLOUDS!!!
Conservatives always fight progress. They fought rights for women. They fought rights for minorities. Today they fight rights for homosexuals.
The funny thing is that we continually progress despite them. And the conservatives of one generation always look back at the conservatives of the previous and say "well I don't agree with them but today's issue is different.". Then a generation goes by, the conservatives lose the current battle and the next generation of conservatives accepts it.
Tomorrow's conservatives will fight progress. But they will look back at today's right wingers and be appalled.
I was very disappointed with Israel's violation of the cease fire.
Well at least an Israeli official admitted there were no rockets fired prior to the invasion.
Reply to fubush2:
Like a good leftist (with good and leftist being an oxymoron), you project your feelings and methods on others, assuming (wrongfully, as always) that Michelle Bachman and other conservatives do what leftists do and care only about what happens to their allies and not to their opponents. The truth is that conservatives, like Bachman, do care about what happens to the residents of Gaza.
But unlike you, they're under no delusion about the true reason for the tragedy of Gaza. That reason is Hamas - not Israel. It's Hamas that fires rockets into Israel without provocation, and it's Hamas that refuses to recognize Israel's right to exist. In other words, it's Hamas' fault for the tragedy of Gaza, since Hamas is a terrorist organization, whose stated goal is a criminal one: destroying Israel, purely out of irrational and illogical hate and bigotry. So, Israel is well within its rights to protect itself, which includes building barriers to prevent Hamas terrorists from entering its borders and barricading Gaza's boundaries, so that only food and medicine - not weapons - can enter Gaza, where no news outlets (including those hostile to the U.S. and Israel) have reported problems with hunger and disease.
But this is fact, and fact isn't something the left likes, since it almost always proves the left to be resolutely wrong.
Like most conservatives, Bachman probably doesn't care about the children killed in Gaza by our "ally".
There is another poster on the board that reminds me of shedd.
I won't say who because he'll gladly talk all day about himself. Just like shedd.

uffda-I will defer to your intimate knowledge of bachmann, I just know what I see and hear...and she certainly doesn't strike me as you describe. As far as Michelle Obama is concerned, I have seen enough to know that she's a racist. And there's NO WAY she could attend Wright's church for 20 years and not know what was going on there, and agree with it. Is that enough for me to declare that she's disturbed? You betcha!
@12 drhunt1
I think I know more about Ms. Bachmann than you because I live in her district, her neighborhood, and have witnessed her bizarre behavior even before she went to DC. Up here, she is considered to be a joke, and she narrowly won re-election only because her opponent was nothing short of pathetic. I list a tiny sample of her undeniably bizarre behavior, and your only response is to ignore it, and then make some sort of inference that Michelle Obama is mentally disturbed, without even a single example. Sorry, but that weak trick doesn't work on me or anyone else.
uffda- Michelle has serious mental issues? Hmmm...Quite judgemental. I could write the same thing about Michelle Obama, given her minor exposure during the early part of the campaign, (before rahm locked her away). I don't worship Bachmann, but I respect her...and I detest Ken Kupchik and his pathetic additions here under the guise of satire and/or comedic journalism.
I point out his faulty view and slam him pretty hard. Air America is at least decent enough to allow for contrarian views, the DailyKos and Huffington aren't...they don't want ANY facts to distort their story and liberal outlook. They stomp on the first amendment, yet hide behind it as well...it's selective and completely biased. They can't handle the truth, nor can they handle my incredible wit, humor, and intelligence. @8 drhunt1
Your worship of Bachmann is as amusing as it is pathetic. The woman has serious mental issues. My post below details just a few of many over the years.
