Arianna Huffington will be joining us to talk about how Republican policies have not only failed, but they’ve actually made America a more dangerous place.
Anti-war activist turned Congressional candidate Cindy Sheehan will be here to talk about how the failures of the Democratic Party led her to challenge Nancy Pelosi for her seat.
Author Alec Foege will be joining us to tell us how the republicans created an unstoppable media monopoly with Clear Channel Communications.
Mark Crispin Miller will stop by once again to talk about the Republicans’ plans to steal the 2008 election.
Political satirist Matt Filipowicz will be here to talk about this week’s news that was just ripe for lampooning.
And as always, Bobby and Pap will rundown this week’s stories that the mainstream media ignored.

Vet Hillary and her Doug Coe Anti-Constitution Connection
Obama has Wright.
McCain has Hagee, Parsely, et al.
HILLARY HAS DOUG COE.
Obama's Rev. Wright is a total Progressive clergyman, doing the charitable work and supporting social justice through clear thinking and awareness of historical context. (Makes me wonder what moved Obama to throw the Reverend under the bus.)
McCain's pastors Hagee and Parsely and the rest of his group of Christianists with reactionary ideology and profiteering tactics, are total opportunists and succeed in their ambitions by manipulating their "flocks" (read that as $HEEP), and obviously act as petty crooks fingering their marks.
Hillary's Doug Coe of The Fellowship (aka The Family) is THE FASCISTS' PASTOR. Doug Coe works to fashion the death of Democratic Freedoms and insert THEOCRACY instead. And he admittedly, by choice, uses the methods of Hitler (see his written instructions to his devotees in Harper's Magazine March 2003 article "Jesus plus nothing")! Doug Coe's goals are the goals of an anti-Constitution degenerate who desires to mold a new world religious order based on a twisted "morality" of solidarity and obedience to Authority in a fascist context! Removing separation of church and state is essential for reaching his goal.
HILLARY MUST BE THOROUGHLY VETTED! SHE MUST!
HILLARY'S CONNECTION TO DOUG COE AND THE FELLOWSHIP MUST BE MADE CLEAR AND KNOWN!
Hillary's connection to Doug Coe is an anti-Constitution connection!

By noraMay 3, 2008 - 3:21pmDefine "Liberal" media...
When the right talks about the 'liberal' media, they are not using the word 'liberal' in a strictly political sense. And we don't get it. We continue to squirm with angst over this, stomping our feet saying, "It's NOT true!"
The right does have their own understanding of this, though; for them everything about the media packaging is up-to-date -- the way it looks, the way the people dress, the language used, the topics covered, the "morality" reflected. For these folks (many of whom live from a reactionary religious point-of-reference), 'liberal' means PERMISSIVENESS, as in loose, so-called unChristian, open sexuality, equality of women, disrespectful children, and the glorification of negatives (like drinking, sex, delinquence, crime, lack of piety) . And there is considerable validity in that view. We need to correct this misuse of the word liberal by saying, go ahead, hold your opinion but USE THE CORRECT WORD which in many cases is PERMISSIVENESS in media rather that Liberal Media!
We speak two languages in this country and it is hurting us -- one based on the dictionary most of the time, but also on the dominant meaning of words used in our own progressive community. The other is based on alternative definitions of words, a few from the dictionary but more often the made-up jargon created in rightwing think tanks!
We need to take back language by seeing this clearly and when appropriate, correcting the misuse of language as we would correct a child who speaks incorrectly.

By roadgoddessMay 3, 2008 - 5:28pmStealing the Election
I've been saying since the last election that the Dems needed to do something about Republicans meddling with voting machines, results, etc. This talk with Mark Crispin Miller today should have be repeated every week since 2004 till it went into the heads of these people that, according to him, "are in denial of what is happening".... Well, we have seen during the primary season that meddling has occurred already, and still nothing has been done. I'm getting very, very nervous! Couldn't stand a third robbery but looks like it's going that way!

By TextynnnMay 3, 2008 - 9:20pmA bit paranoid?
I'm not saying that there isn't something worrisome out there, but some of your places just aren't what they are made out to be. Fort Ord is not a concentration camp or a warfare training site, it's a college campus, one of the newer ones in the California State University system. Lompoc holds a state prison, and the launch site at Vandenburg AFB is frequently used, so your source has bad information. Closed airforce bases don't automatically become prison camps. There are logical reasons for having a minimal staff on a closed base, if you foresee perhaps having to reopen it in the future.
And Tule lake is a wildlife refuge:

Like I said, some of what he posted is worrisome, but there are a lot of places on his list that just are not concentration camp sites. Not every dirt road ends in a concentration camp. Having been to Tule Lake, Fort Ord and living not too far from Vandenburg (40 miles), I can tell you that these sites are not what his website made out to be. I'm not saying there are no concentration camps being built, I believe there are, but not as many as he thinks.

I agree with you. I, too, doubt the numbers.....but isn't the fact that there are any being built rather alarming? Suppose that it's only 1/4 that number....that still makes 200 concentration camps. This is NOT a good thing.

No doubt. ...
And that''s what REALLY bugs me.This...if Ollie North was involved....if such changes in FEMA came about under the radar... these things are red flags to me. It makes me think about having a big ol' yard sale and just disappear. But that's just knee-jerk...right?

I e-mailed that video to my far right wing mother. She said that she had no doubt that places like this were being built, but that they were only for "illegal" immigrants. This made it not only OK, but long overdue. That kind of mindset scares the shit out of me & embarrasses me at the same time(she is my mother after all).
It only takes 20 years for a liberal to become a conservative without changing a single idea.

By roadgoddessMay 5, 2008 - 2:42amI hope your right
I hope you are right. There is a lot of info out there that Haliburton is building prisons everywhere. Many are concerned with the refusal by congress for Rep Jack Brooks to question Gen Patraus about the plan for a continuity of government in the event of a major disaster. Apparently extensive plans for marshal law are in the works and the details of those plans are being denied access by the public as well as other branches of government.
As for being paranoid, that's me. I am scared to death of these people. The working poor everywhere are involved in a major movement of hording food, cashing out 401k's, banking under the mattress, and converting money to barter items such as tools like axes, hammers, saws, preservable commodities.
While this may sound humorous to many people, the economic crunch has been apparent to this group since about the second year of the Bush administration. The working poor are the canaries in the coal mine to the entire nation's economy but no one who reports info about the economy ever concerns themselves with this group much as we are not usually even evaluated in any conversation that doesn't concern minimum wage and how its being increased hurts business. I know many people who have quit their jobs to take lesser Mcjobs because by the time they pay for the gas and clothes to go to a modestly paid job they are worse off than working close to home flipping burgers.
This is what I did concerning my job working for the community college teaching reading to disabled adults. After hour cuts and more demand for us to give unpaid hours and many of our hours deregulated to minimum wage pay even though we were professionals I realized I was working for less than minimum wage. I was netting about $500 bucks after gas and taxes a month. Further, I was being basically blackmailed to create very extensive curriculum for them on my own time in which they made no excuses that they would retaining as their intellectual property or be considered incorrigible. This may sound off topic, however, the lower paid workers have seen that employers have balanced budgets on the backs of their most desperate employees and basically blackmail them ala the Walmart Model demanding more and more off the clock time "donated". This is the true "trickle down affect".
In other words this group is feeling very paranoid and intimidated. There seems to be no limit to the extent that one group will use another and we have seen this problem escalate to a point that would have been previously considered highly illegal. I myself and people I know in this group have felt a more vicious and ruthless government and we are reaching the breaking point. Many are expecting these prisons to be used as debtor prisons. Our inability to get anything but bare minimal sore throat level health care is also manifesting itself as a way to squeeze a peasant, so to speak, of every little thing they may own until they have nothing as they grapple to pay for high cost care alone. Concentration camps for Americans seems highly likely to us. As more and more middle class Americans begin to feel the true brunt of this ruthless wealth shifting administration, more people will begin to realize that we are dealing with a group of sociopaths and there is no limit to what they are willing to do to people.

The Bushs are clearly evil criminals but for some reason we keep acting like they aren't. I mean officially. Is there no way that we can remove these people. What strange lobotomies are happening to our lawmakers that they won't get rid of absolutely evil corrupt people. Is there nothing we can do. What if bush killed some body in cold blood on live tv. Would we be forced to just allow it and go on with business as usual? Apparently we would. They have used our money to build a private army that will still belong to them after the election. Im getting really scared.

By TextynnnMay 3, 2008 - 9:44pmClear Channel aired commercials over Ring of Fire May 3rd
While we in Albuquerque are lucky to have Air America broadcast to us on KABQ 1350, unfortunately this station belongs to Clear Channel.
I found it telling that when the hosts of Ring of Fire on Saturday were discussing the grip this wealthy, many-station owning corporation has on the airwaves, they played a whole set of commercials right over top the discourse. I then tried to contact them but found it impossible. So now I've registered here and am speaking out about it.
It is very dissatisfying to begin to understand how moneyed interests dictate to America. I wish to support freethinking causes rather than fascistic collusion between government and business; it is difficult sometimes to accomplish this.
