How can I hear the live stream?
Click here to return to the FAQ list.
To listen to our free live streams on our website, you must install the Microsoft Silverlight plug-in for your web browser. But if you can not (or will not) install Silverlight, you can still access the live stream. In this guide, you will see how to access the live streams from the site itself, as well as several non-Slverlight alternative methods for listening.
Website Method:
1. Go to the front-page, and click on “Listen Live.” You do not need to be logged in.

2. The OnDemand player (in the red box in the image below) should load, and you should see the face of whichever host is broadcasting at the moment. Click either of the play arrows (circled in red) to begin playing the stream. If you do not see the OnDemand Player, you may need to install the Silverlight plug-in. See the Silverlight site to download and install, and see the Wikipedia article to see if your operating system and browser are compatible.

3. We actually offer 4 separate streams. You can choose which live stream you would like to hear (see image below). You can choose form our Washington D.C. station (1050AM), our primary stream (titled simply “Air America”), a stream f some older, classic Air America shows (“Classics”), and a live video stream of some of our shows. You can find the schedules for all these streams by clicking here.

Non-Silverlight Alternatives:
If you can not (or will not) use the Silverlight-based player, you still have many ways to listen to the live stream. Our primary stream is MP3-based, so it will play on almost any operating system and free media player.
