Is this the same Barack Obama I campaigned for or has "W" re-entered the White House in a Halloween outfit?

I'm seeing more and more Bush Like Decisions being made. Makes one wonder who Obama really is.

C. Gordon, you write just like those spam e-mails I get. You know, the ones offering drugs at cut rates. And the ones that say I have a rich lost relative. If you're not that guy, may I suggest taking the meds. And while your at it, lose the thesaurus. What you've posted so far are nothing but non-sequiters that appear to be posted by one who is non-compos mentis.

Jeez.

Whew! Take a breath Mr. Gordon. I just think that you write beautifully. I await your soliloquy on that one. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, I'm afraid.

Mr. Gordon. I've just become a fan of your work. In no way can I match your eloquence but I got this Air America e-mail and immediately did a Google and got no other match than Air America. This is a sad display of rank self promotion and tawdry sensationalism.

What is misleading about the headline? You probably won't find a bigger supporter of this administration's attempt to unsnarl the mess left by previous administrations and congress, but I also have questions as to why contractors cannot be sued. It's not only this rape incident, but there's also the infamous electrocutions of our soldiers (yes, that is plural!) by KBR's shoddy workmanship in installing showers for our troops. Apparently KBR can't be sued over those deaths either, and that's just plain wrong!

I am deeply saddened by the misrepresentation and misleading headlines that Air America is now using to drive up traffic. I'm afraid that Air America will soon be a poster child for the cliche, "If you can't beat them, join them." This is the second time I have come to this website to read a story that turned out to be propped up hearsay and conjecture. You may have a small audience but do you want to sacrifice you moral stance for money or readership? I willing to bet these core supports you enjoy now will walk away if you continue down this path. All the best and I hope this doesn't get lost in the void.

OK there are no direct quotes from the President, true. But how often does the President (especially this one) address single issues and bills directly? I think that's the point of the discussion and the context in which AMC raises the point.

If the WH has issued a statement that says they agree in principle but don't think it's enforceable, my progressive brain thinks they should develop a position on this issue that is enforceable.

Obama has been running right since about March of 2008. He is not pushing the progressive agenda at all; we're still in Iraq, contemplating an escalation in Afghanistan, still doing illegal domestic spying, Gitmo is still open, he's been largely absent from health care reform, nothing but "looking forward" on holding torturers accountable. IN FACT, he hasn't done a damn thing about giving back any of the Executive Branch overreach that Bush foisted off on us. So when do progressives (or self-identified progressives) start cranking up the heat? Will it be after we get stuck with an abomination of a corporation-serving health care "reform" bill?

Nice attempt to drive up traffic with a controversial and inaccurate headline. I'm sure the President will sign the bill and he probably supports the amendment, as MOST of the senators do. He doesn't have to get in the middle of EVERY debate in Congress, you know.

I've lost a little bit of respect for Air America and AMC now.

This is depressing. How can it be legal for a contract to abrogate a person's rights? And shouldn't the administration be supporting Al Franken's bill?

absolutely...why make an issue where there is none.

Where are the quotes from the President that says he doesn't support the bill? I think he is allowing people to do their Constitutional job and he will sign and enforce the law.

What a misleading headline - don't start doing the HP thing with the false and misleading banner headlines - please!!
