THIS IS AMERICA MONDAY

By Scott Egelberg

Tonight on the May 5 edition of This Is America with Jon Elliott...

Jon's guest will be will be Newsweek's White House Correspondent Holly Bailey. She will be discussing her new article, A Turbulent Pastor: John Hagee has his share of out-there opinions, but lucky for the candidate, he's in a moment of silence

. Bailey reports on Pastor John Hagee, the San Antonio televangelist who has offended Roman Catholics and other groups, and his endorsement of John McCain. McCain and his aides draw a sharp distinction between his relationship to Hagee and Obama’s ties to the Rev. Wright. McCain’s aides attribute the Hagee controversy to poor vetting. But even some Republicans (not affiliated with the campaign) privately wonder how the pastor’s extreme views slipped through without notice.

Also joining Jon tonight is Fritz Wenzel, Communication's Director of Zogby International. He will be on to discuss the latest polls concerning Indiana and North Carolina. Make sure to tune in to hear his expert analysis.

Also Jon will be continuing to read the e-mails sent to Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) by Americans concerning the shrinking economy. And of course Jon will be taking your calls at 866-303-2270. So make sure to tune in to tonight's jam packed edition of This Is America with Jon Elliott.
