Medicare Choice and the disabled
During the Bush administration the main prority has been to get rid of all entitlements. Medicare Choice programs give disabled people who do not qualify for Medicaid, healthcare. Without being on a Medicaid Choice program, most disabled people would not be able to afford healthcare at all. Because some people who are disabled work, or work part-time, or have other income, Medicaid will not cover them because they have "too much" income. If they trick people into getting rid of Medicare Choice programs, there will be no healthcare affordable for these disabled people. This is another case of do it or die. I for one can't do it, and I'm am not willing to die for "just an idea".
Peace All!

I favor armed insurrection,
hey, it's been tried! A few men and their families, took pitch-forks and whatever they had, and chased after them and stuck British Soldiers, uhmmm you know where, til it hurt so much they cried, 'Fowl!", "Ouch!", "I wave my white kerchewiffs!!"
America is LOTS unequal. Noone I know, likes it. About 1900, corporations had figured out how to capitalize on differences in housing, jobs, incomes, wealth, and education. In effect, dissenters in Civil Rights, Democratic Party Building, Union Organizing, and in various Legal Reform efforts since then, have been associated with criminals, or branded as bad/evil in some way. (Who likes Osama, anyhow?)
Recently, REAL criminals have taken limited power. They demand to have their crimes described to them! We must acceed; we must be clear, full of examples, relentlessly factual, confident and authoritative, and of sound reasoning-in short WE MUST BE AT OUR BEST!
Then, let's initiate some real dialogue between our States, and really MANAGE our commons!!! :)
Need more showings!
When is this going to open in Houston, if at all?

Eleventh Hour
I see it's scheduled in Dallas, but distribution doesn't seem very wide at the moment. I guess the best we can do for now is sign up here, or wait for the DVD.
Regarding Thom's discussion: We often hear about the possibility of a single "tipping point" making global disruption virtually inevitable. But there are also individual elements of the system, like the cryosphere, tropical forests, and oceans, that seem to have thresholds of accelerated change with both regional and global implications. Still, if we can get past this eleventh hour without slashing Earth's carrying capacity and wrecking civilization, humans have a chance to advance to the point of being less vulnerable to disaster. That would be a great feat of survival (and hopefully general prosperity).
