Contacting Members of Congress and Senators
Thom
Let me add one more effective method of contacting them. I routinely fax letters to their offices and find it quite effective. I always get a response in one way or another. Today I received a telephone call from Senator Burr's office in response to a letter I sent objecting to a vote he cast in favor of Libby Dole's proposed Amendment to the Defense Authorization Bill where she sought to require voter ID cards. I received a call from a staffer to respond specifically to the things I wrote about and when she ran out of things to say, she connected me to his legal counsel who agreed to bring up the Senator (acting as a "Goldwater" Republican as opposed to a neo-con) the idea of supporting the appointment of a special prosecutor. I will continue pushing the issue like an attack dog.
Faxes really work.
I object.
I have watched C-Span for many years. They're owned by a KOOL-AID corporate media consortioum. I think they're going to 'play' Thom serious patriotism for a Republican laugh, and a Democratic disappointment, horribly before the show. Let me be clear, and rest assured that I am learning from Thom each day, but non-ideological discussions of Thom's liking BENEFIT ALL OF US AMERICANS, and I believe I have no choice but to learn! You can't simply say 'no'. It's about issues, and an attitude of clarity and brotherhood! This scares me. Cause C-SPAN represents America's homeland' as remotely as a swastica.
One ahead of disaster
In view of the information concerning the transfer of power to the executive branch and the likelyhood of some sort of power grab and the build up to another "pre-emptive" attack, this time against Iran, I think it would be a serious precaution to at least have some sort of plan instead of reacting when it happens.
A general strike would certainly be the means to block such illegal actions, otherwise we are sitting ducks.
What other sorts of action would be feasible?
